மோவாபின் ராஜா எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணினான்; மோவாபியர்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண, என்னோடேகூட வருகிறீரா என்று யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தைக் கேட்டனுப்பினதற்கு; அவன் நான் வருகிறேன்; நான் தான் நீர், என்னுடைய ஜனங்கள் உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள், என்னுடைய குதிரைகள் உம்முடைய குதிரைகள் என்றான்.

அவன் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பி யூதாவின் அரசனான யோசபாத்திடம் பேசினான். யோராம், “மோவாபின் அரசன் எனக்கு எதிராக என் ஆட்சியிலிருந்து விலகிவிட்டான். அவனோடு போரிட என்னுடன் சேர்ந்து வருவீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு யோசபாத், “சரி, நான் உன்னோடு வருகிறேன். நான் உன்னைப் போன்றவன். எனது ஜனங்களும் உன் ஜனங்களைப் போன்றவர்கள். என் குதிரைகளும் உனது குதிரைகளைப் போன்றவைதாம்” என்றான்.
