וַיָּבִ֙יאוּ֙ So they brought bôʾ אֶת ʾēt אֲר֣וֹן the ark ʾārôn הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God, ʾĕlōhîm וַיַּצִּ֣יגוּ and set yāṣag אֹת֔וֹ ʾēt בְּת֣וֹךְ it in the midst tāwek הָאֹ֔הֶל of the tent ʾōhel אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer נָֽטָה had pitched nāṭâ ל֖וֹ דָּוִ֑יד David dāwid וַיַּקְרִ֛יבוּ for it: and they offered qārab עֹל֥וֹת burnt sacrifices ʿōlâ וּשְׁלָמִ֖ים and peace offerings šelem לִפְנֵ֥י before pānîm הָֽאֱלֹהִֽים׃ God. ʾĕlōhîm

וַיְכַ֣ל had made an end kālâ דָּוִ֔יד And when David dāwid מֵהַֽעֲל֥וֹת of offering ʿālâ הָֽעֹלָ֖ה the burnt offerings ʿōlâ וְהַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים and the peace offerings, šelem וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ he blessed bārak אֶת ʾēt הָעָ֖ם the people ʿam בְּשֵׁ֥ם in the name šēm יְהוָֽה׃ of the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וַיְחַלֵּק֙ And he dealt ḥālaq לְכָל kōl אִ֣ישׁ to every one ʾîš יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl מֵאִ֖ישׁ both man ʾîš וְעַד ʿad אִשָּׁ֑ה and woman, ʾiššâ לְאִישׁ֙ to every one ʾîš כִּכַּר a loaf kikkār לֶ֔חֶם of bread, leḥem וְאֶשְׁפָּ֖ר and a good piece of flesh, ʾešpār וַֽאֲשִׁישָֽׁה׃ and a flagon ʾăšîšâ

וַיִּתֵּ֞ן And he appointed nātan לִפְנֵ֨י before pānîm אֲר֧וֹן the ark ʾārôn יְהוָ֛ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ מִן of min הַלְוִיִּ֖ם the Levites lēwiyyî מְשָֽׁרְתִ֑ים to minister šārat וּלְהַזְכִּיר֙ and to record, zākar וּלְהוֹד֣וֹת and to thank yādâ וּלְהַלֵּ֔ל and praise hālal לַֽיהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֥י God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel: yiśrāʾēl

אָסָ֥ף Asaph ʾāsāp הָרֹ֖אשׁ the chief, rōš וּמִשְׁנֵ֣הוּ and next mišne זְכַרְיָ֑ה to him Zechariah, zĕkaryâ יְעִיאֵ֡ל Jeiel, yĕʿîʾēl וּשְׁמִֽירָמ֡וֹת and Shemiramoth, šĕmîrāmôt וִֽיחִיאֵ֡ל and Jehiel, yĕḥîʾēl וּמַתִּתְיָ֡ה and Mattithiah, mattityâ וֶֽאֱלִיאָ֡ב and Eliab, ʾĕlîʾāb וּבְנָיָהוּ֩ and Benaiah, bĕnāyâ וְעֹבֵ֨ד אֱדֹ֜ם and Obed-edom: ʿōbēd ʾĕdôm וִֽיעִיאֵ֗ל and Jeiel yĕʿîʾēl בִּכְלֵ֤י kĕlî נְבָלִים֙ with psalteries nebel וּבְכִנֹּר֔וֹת and with harps; kinnôr וְאָסָ֖ף but Asaph ʾāsāp בַּֽמְצִלְתַּ֥יִם with cymbals; mĕṣēlet מַשְׁמִֽיעַ׃ made a sound šāmaʿ

וּבְנָיָ֥הוּ Benaiah bĕnāyâ וְיַֽחֲזִיאֵ֖ל also and Jahaziel yaḥăzîʾēl הַכֹּֽהֲנִ֑ים the priests kōhēn בַּחֲצֹֽצְר֣וֹת with trumpets ḥăṣōṣĕrâ תָּמִ֔יד continually tāmîd לִפְנֵ֖י before pānîm אֲר֥וֹן the ark ʾārôn בְּרִית of the covenant bĕrît הָֽאֱלֹהִֽים׃ of God. ʾĕlōhîm

בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֗וּא on that hûʾ אָ֣ז Then ʾāz נָתַ֤ן delivered nātan דָּוִיד֙ David dāwid בָּרֹ֔אשׁ first rōš לְהֹד֖וֹת to thank yādâ לַֽיהוָ֑ה the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּיַד into the hand yād אָסָ֖ף of Asaph ʾāsāp וְאֶחָֽיו׃ and his brethren. ʾāḥ

הוֹד֤וּ Give thanks yādâ לַֽיהוָה֙ unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ קִרְא֣וּ call qārāʾ בִשְׁמ֔וֹ upon his name, šēm הוֹדִ֥יעוּ make known yādaʿ בָֽעַמִּ֖ים among the people. ʿam עֲלִֽילֹתָֽיו׃ his deeds ʿălîlâ

שִׁ֤ירוּ Sing šîr לוֹ֙ זַמְּרוּ unto him, sing psalms zāmar ל֔וֹ שִׂ֖יחוּ unto him, talk śîaḥ בְּכָל ye of all kōl נִפְלְאֹתָֽיו׃ his wondrous works. pālāʾ

הִֽתְהַלְלוּ֙ Glory hālal בְּשֵׁ֣ם name: šēm קָדְשׁ֔וֹ ye in his holy qōdeš יִשְׂמַ֕ח of them rejoice śāmaḥ לֵ֖ב let the heart lēb מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י that seek bāqaš יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

דִּרְשׁ֤וּ Seek dāraš יְהוָה֙ the Lord yĕhōwâ וְעֻזּ֔וֹ and his strength, ʿōz בַּקְּשׁ֥וּ seek bāqaš פָנָ֖יו his face pānîm תָּמִֽיד׃ continually. tāmîd

זִכְר֗וּ Remember zākar נִפְלְאֹתָיו֙ his marvellous works pālāʾ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer עָשָׂ֔ה he hath done, ʿāśâ מֹֽפְתָ֖יו his wonders, môpēt וּמִשְׁפְּטֵי and the judgments mišpāṭ פִֽיהוּ׃ of his mouth; pe

זֶ֚רַע O ye seed zeraʿ יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl עַבְדּ֔וֹ his servant, ʿebed בְּנֵ֥י ye children bēn יַֽעֲקֹ֖ב of Jacob, yaʿăqōb בְּחִירָֽיו׃ his chosen ones. bāḥîr

ה֚וּא He hûʾ יְהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ our God; ʾĕlōhîm בְּכָל in all kōl הָאָ֖רֶץ the earth. ʾereṣ מִשְׁפָּטָֽיו׃ his judgments mišpāṭ

זִכְר֤וּ Be ye mindful zākar לְעוֹלָם֙ always ʿôlām בְּרִית֔וֹ of his covenant; bĕrît דָּבָ֥ר the word dābār צִוָּ֖ה he commanded ṣāwâ לְאֶ֥לֶף to a thousand ʾelep דּֽוֹר׃ generations; dôr

אֲשֶׁ֤ר which ʾăšer כָּרַת֙ he made kārat אֶת with ʾēt אַבְרָהָ֔ם Abraham, ʾabrāhām וּשְׁבֽוּעָת֖וֹ and of his oath šĕbûʿâ לְיִצְחָֽק׃ unto Isaac; yiṣḥāq

וַיַּֽעֲמִידֶ֤הָ And hath confirmed ʿāmad לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ the same to Jacob yaʿăqōb לְחֹ֔ק for a law, ḥōq לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל to Israel yiśrāʾēl בְּרִ֥ית covenant, bĕrît עוֹלָֽם׃ an everlasting ʿôlām

לֵאמֹ֗ר Saying, ʾāmar לְךָ֙ אֶתֵּ֣ן Unto thee will I give nātan אֶֽרֶץ the land ʾereṣ כְּנָ֔עַן of Canaan, kĕnaʿan חֶ֖בֶל the lot ḥebel נַֽחֲלַתְכֶֽם׃ of your inheritance; naḥălâ

בִּהְיֽוֹתְכֶם֙ When ye were hāyâ מְתֵ֣י mat מִסְפָּ֔ר but few, mispār כִּמְעַ֖ט even a few, mĕʿaṭ וְגָרִ֥ים and strangers in it. gûr בָּֽהּ׃

וַיִּֽתְהַלְּכוּ֙ And they went hālak מִגּ֣וֹי from nation gôy אֶל to ʾēl גּ֔וֹי nation, gôy וּמִמַּמְלָכָ֖ה and from kingdom mamlākâ אֶל to ʾēl עַ֥ם people; ʿam אַחֵֽר׃ another ʾaḥēr

לֹֽא no lōʾ הִנִּ֤יחַ He suffered yānaḥ לְאִישׁ֙ man ʾîš לְעָשְׁקָ֔ם to do them wrong: ʿāšaq וַיּ֥וֹכַח yea, he reproved yākaḥ עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם for their sakes, ʿal מְלָכִֽים׃ kings melek

אַֽל not ʾal תִּגְּעוּ֙ Touch nāgaʿ בִּמְשִׁיחָ֔י mine anointed, māšîaḥ וּבִנְבִיאַ֖י and do my prophets nābîʾ אַל no ʾal תָּרֵֽעוּ׃ harm. rāʿaʿ

שִׁ֤ירוּ Sing šîr לַֽיהוָה֙ unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ כָּל all kōl הָאָ֔רֶץ the earth; ʾereṣ בַּשְּׂר֥וּ shew forth bāśar מִיּֽוֹם from day yôm אֶל to ʾēl י֖וֹם day yôm יְשֽׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃ his salvation. yĕšûʿâ

סַפְּר֤וּ Declare sāpar בַגּוֹיִם֙ among the heathen; gôy אֶת ʾēt כְּבוֹד֔וֹ his glory kābôd בְּכָל among all kōl הָֽעַמִּ֖ים nations. ʿam נִפְלְאֹתָֽיו׃ his marvellous works pālāʾ

כִּי֩ For kî גָד֨וֹל great gādôl יְהוָ֤ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וּמְהֻלָּל֙ to be praised: hālal מְאֹ֔ד and greatly mĕʾōd וְנוֹרָ֥א also to be feared yārēʾ ה֖וּא he hûʾ עַל above ʿal כָּל all kōl אֱלֹהִֽים׃ gods. ʾĕlōhîm

כִּ֠י For kî כָּל all kōl אֱלֹהֵ֤י the gods ʾĕlōhîm הָֽעַמִּים֙ of the people ʿam אֱלִילִ֔ים idols: ʾĕlîl וַֽיהוָ֖ה but the Lord yĕhōwâ שָׁמַ֥יִם the heavens. šāmayim עָשָֽׂה׃ made ʿāśâ

ה֤וֹד Glory hôd וְהָדָר֙ and honour hādār לְפָנָ֔יו in his presence; pānîm עֹ֥ז strength ʿōz וְחֶדְוָ֖ה and gladness ḥedwâ בִּמְקֹמֽוֹ׃ in his place. māqôm

הָב֤וּ Give yāhab לַֽיהוָה֙ unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת ye kindreds mišpāḥâ עַמִּ֔ים of the people, ʿam הָב֥וּ give yāhab לַֽיהוָ֖ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ כָּב֥וֹד glory kābôd וָעֹֽז׃ and strength. ʿōz

הָב֥וּ Give yāhab לַֽיהוָ֖ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ כְּב֣וֹד the glory kābôd שְׁמ֑וֹ unto his name: šēm שְׂא֤וּ bring nāśāʾ מִנְחָה֙ an offering, minḥâ וּבֹ֣אוּ and come bôʾ לְפָנָ֔יו before pānîm הִשְׁתַּֽחֲו֥וּ him: worship šāḥâ לַֽיהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּהַדְרַת in the beauty hădārâ קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ of holiness. qōdeš

חִ֤ילוּ Fear ḥûl מִלְּפָנָיו֙ before pānîm כָּל him, all kōl הָאָ֔רֶץ the earth: ʾereṣ אַף also ʾap תִּכּ֥וֹן shall be stable, kûn תֵּבֵ֖ל the world tēbēl בַּל that it be not bal תִּמּֽוֹט׃ moved. môṭ

יִשְׂמְח֤וּ be glad, śāmaḥ הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ Let the heavens šāmayim וְתָגֵ֣ל rejoice: gîl הָאָ֔רֶץ and let the earth ʾereṣ וְיֹֽאמְר֥וּ and let say ʾāmar בַגּוֹיִ֖ם among the nations, gôy יְהוָ֥ה The Lord yĕhōwâ מָלָֽךְ׃ reigneth. mālak

יִרְעַ֤ם roar, rāʿam הַיָּם֙ Let the sea yām וּמְלוֹא֔וֹ and the fulness mĕlōʾ יַֽעֲלֹ֥ץ rejoice, ʿālaṣ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה thereof: let the fields śāde וְכָל and all kōl אֲשֶׁר that therein. ʾăšer בּֽוֹ׃

אָ֥ז Then ʾāz יְרַנְּנ֖וּ sing out rānan עֲצֵ֣י shall the trees ʿēṣ הַיָּ֑עַר of the wood yaʿar מִלִּפְנֵ֣י at the presence pānîm יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ כִּי because kî בָ֖א he cometh bôʾ לִשְׁפּ֥וֹט to judge šāpaṭ אֶת ʾēt הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the earth. ʾereṣ

הוֹד֤וּ O give thanks yādâ לַֽיהוָה֙ unto the Lord; yĕhōwâ כִּ֣י for kî ט֔וֹב good; ṭôb כִּ֥י for kî לְעוֹלָ֖ם for ever. ʿôlām חַסְדּֽוֹ׃ his mercy ḥēsēd

וְאִמְר֕וּ And say ʾāmar הֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֙נוּ֙ ye, Save yāšaʿ אֱלֹהֵ֣י us, O God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׁעֵ֔נוּ of our salvation, yešaʿ וְקַבְּצֵ֥נוּ and gather us together, qābaṣ וְהַצִּילֵ֖נוּ and deliver nāṣal מִן us from min הַגּוֹיִ֑ם the heathen, gôy לְהֹדוֹת֙ that we may give thanks yādâ לְשֵׁ֣ם name, šēm קָדְשֶׁ֔ךָ to thy holy qōdeš לְהִשְׁתַּבֵּ֖חַ glory šābaḥ בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ in thy praise. tĕhillâ

בָּר֤וּךְ Blessed bārak יְהוָה֙ the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֣י God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מִן min הָֽעוֹלָ֖ם for ever ʿôlām וְעַ֣ד ʿad הָֽעֹלָ֑ם and ever. ʿôlām וַיֹּֽאמְר֤וּ said, ʾāmar כָל And all kōl הָעָם֙ the people ʿam אָמֵ֔ן Amen, ʾāmēn וְהַלֵּ֖ל and praised hālal לַֽיהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וַיַּֽעֲזָב So he left ʿāzab שָׁ֗ם there šām לִפְנֵי֙ before pānîm אֲר֣וֹן the ark ʾārôn בְּרִית of the covenant bĕrît יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ לְאָסָ֖ף Asaph ʾāsāp וּלְאֶחָ֑יו and his brethren, ʾāḥ לְשָׁרֵ֞ת to minister šārat לִפְנֵ֧י before pānîm הָֽאָר֛וֹן the ark ʾārôn תָּמִ֖יד continually, tāmîd לִדְבַר work dābār י֥וֹם as every day's yôm בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃ required: yôm

וְעֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֹ֛ם And Obed-edom ʿōbēd ʾĕdôm וַֽאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם with their brethren, ʾāḥ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים threescore šiššîm וּשְׁמוֹנָ֑ה and eight; šĕmōne וְעֹבֵ֨ד אֱדֹ֧ם Obed-edom ʿōbēd ʾĕdôm בֶּן also the son bēn יְדִית֛וּן of Jeduthun yĕdûtûn וְחֹסָ֖ה and Hosah ḥōsâ לְשֹֽׁעֲרִֽים׃ porters: šôʿēr

וְאֵ֣ת׀ ʾēt צָד֣וֹק And Zadok ṣādôq הַכֹּהֵ֗ן the priest, kōhēn וְאֶחָיו֙ and his brethren ʾāḥ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים the priests, kōhēn לִפְנֵ֖י before pānîm מִשְׁכַּ֣ן the tabernacle miškān יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ בַּבָּמָ֖ה in the high place bāmâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer בְּגִבְעֽוֹן׃ at Gibeon, gibʿôn

לְֽהַעֲלוֹת֩ To offer ʿālâ עֹל֨וֹת burnt offerings ʿōlâ לַֽיהוָ֜ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ עַל upon ʿal מִזְבַּ֧ח the altar mizbēaḥ הָֽעֹלָ֛ה of the burnt offering ʿōlâ תָּמִ֖יד continually tāmîd לַבֹּ֣קֶר morning bōqer וְלָעָ֑רֶב and evening, ʿereb וּלְכָל and according to all kōl הַכָּתוּב֙ that is written kātab בְּתוֹרַ֣ת in the law tôrâ יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer צִוָּ֖ה he commanded ṣāwâ עַל ʿal יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel; yiśrāʾēl

וְעִמָּהֶם֙ And with ʿim הֵימָ֣ן them Heman hêmān וִֽידוּת֔וּן and Jeduthun, yĕdûtûn וּשְׁאָר֙ and the rest šĕʾār הַבְּרוּרִ֔ים that were chosen, bārar אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ʾăšer נִקְּב֖וּ were expressed nāqab בְּשֵׁמ֑וֹת by name, šēm לְהֹדוֹת֙ to give thanks yādâ לַֽיהוָ֔ה to the Lord, yĕhōwâ כִּ֥י because kî לְעוֹלָ֖ם for ever; ʿôlām חַסְדּֽוֹ׃ his mercy ḥēsēd

וְעִמָּהֶם֩ And with ʿim הֵימָ֨ן them Heman hêmān וִֽידוּת֜וּן and Jeduthun yĕdûtûn חֲצֹֽצְר֤וֹת with trumpets ḥăṣōṣĕrâ וּמְצִלְתַּ֙יִם֙ and cymbals mĕṣēlet לְמַשְׁמִיעִ֔ים for those that should make a sound, šāmaʿ וּכְלֵ֖י instruments kĕlî שִׁ֣יר and with musical šîr הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים of God. ʾĕlōhîm וּבְנֵ֥י And the sons bēn יְדוּת֖וּן of Jeduthun yĕdûtûn לַשָּֽׁעַר׃ porters. šaʿar

וַיֵּֽלְכ֥וּ departed hālak כָל And all kōl הָעָ֖ם the people ʿam אִ֣ישׁ every man ʾîš לְבֵית֑וֹ to his house: bayit וַיִּסֹּ֥ב returned sābab דָּוִ֖יד and David dāwid לְבָרֵ֥ךְ to bless bārak אֶת ʾēt בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ his house. bayit
