கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்,

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

Leviticus 11:3

மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும் அசைபோடுகிறதுமானவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

Leviticus 11:4

ஆனாலும் அசைபோடுகிறதும் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதுமானவைகளில் ஒட்டகமானது அசைபோடுகிறதாயிருந்தாலும், அதற்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லாதபடியால், அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Leviticus 11:5

குழிமுசலானது அசைபோடுகிறதாயிருந்தாலும், அதற்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Leviticus 11:6

முயலானது அசைபோடுகிறதாயிருந்தும், அதற்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லை; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Leviticus 11:7

பன்றியின் குளம்பு விரிகுளம்பும் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்ததுமாயிருந்தும், அது அசைபோடாது; அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

Leviticus 11:8

இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசிக்கவும், இவைகளின் உடல்களைத் தொடவும் வேண்டாம்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
