மாற்கு 14:72
உடனே சேவல் இரண்டாந்தரம் கூவிற்று. சேவல் இரண்டுதரங் கூவுகிறதற்குமுன்னே நீ என்னை மூன்று தரம் மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று இயேசு தனக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையைப் பேதுரு நினைவு கூர்ந்து, மிகவும் அழுதான்.

உடனே சேவல் இரண்டாம்முறை கூவியது. சேவல் இரண்டுமுறை கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்பே நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று இயேசு தனக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை பேதுரு நினைத்துப்பார்த்து, மிகவும் அழுதான்.

பேதுரு இவ்வாறு சொன்னதும் சேவலானது இரண்டாம் முறையாகக் கூவியது. இயேசு சொல்லி இருந்ததைப் பேதுரு நினைத்துப் பார்த்தான். “இன்று இரவு சேவல் இரண்டு முறை கூவுவதற்கு முன்னால் நீ மூன்று முறை என்னை மறுதலிப்பாய்” என்று சொல்லி இருந்தார். இதனால் துயருற்று பேதுரு கதறியழுதான்.

உடனே இரண்டாம் முறை சேவல் கூவிற்று. அப்பொழுது, “சேவல் இருமுறை கூவுமுன் நீ என்னை மும்முறை மறுதலிப்பாய்” என்று இயேசு தமக்குக் கூறிய சொற்களைப் பேதுரு நினைவு கூர்ந்து மனம் உடைந்து அழுதார்.
