லேவியராகமம் 21:21
ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனின் சந்ததியாரில் அங்கவீனமுள்ள ஒருவனும் கர்த்தரின் தகனபலிகளைச் செலுத்தச் சேரலாகாது; அவன் அங்கவீனமுள்ளவனாகையால், அவன் தேவனுடைய அப்பத்தைச் செலுத்தச் சேரலாகாது.

“ஆரோனின் சந்ததியில் எவராவது இத்தகைய உடல்குறை உடையவர்களாக இருந்தால் அவர்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு எந்த பலிகளையும் கொடுக்க தகுதியற்றுப் போகிறார்கள். அவன் தேவனுக்கு சிறப்பான அப்பத்தை எடுத்துச் செல்ல முடியாது.

திருவிவிலியம்
குருவான ஆரோனின் வழி மரபில் உடல் ஊனமுற்ற எவனும் ஆண்டவரின் நெருப்புப் பலியைச் செலுத்த அருகில் வரவேண்டாம். மேலும், உடல் ஊனம் அவனுக்கு இருப்பதால், அவன் தன் கடவுளின் உணவுப் படையலைச் செலுத்தவும் வரக்கூடாது.
