யோவான் 7:22
விருத்தசேதனம் மோசேயினால் உண்டாகாமல், பிதாக்களால் உண்டாயிற்று; பின்பு மோசே அதை உங்களுக்கு நியமித்தான்; நீங்கள் ஓய்வுநாளிலும் மனுஷனை விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணுகிறீர்கள்.

விருத்தசேதனம் மோசேயினால் உண்டாகாமல், முன்னோர்களால் உண்டானது; பின்பு மோசே அதை உங்களுக்கு நியமித்தான்; நீங்கள் ஓய்வுநாளிலும் மனிதனை விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணுகிறீர்கள்.

மோசே விருத்தசேதனம்பற்றிய சட்டங்களைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். (ஆனால் உண்மையில் மோசே உங்களுக்கு விருத்தசேதனத்தைத் தரவில்லை. அது மோசேக்கு முற்காலத்திலேயே நமது மக்களிடமிருந்து வந்துவிட்டது) ஆகையால் சில வேளைகளில் ஓய்வு நாட்களிலும் நீங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் பண்ணுகிறீர்கள்.
