Proverbs 12 - BBE (Punjabi)

1 A lover of training is a lover of knowledge; but a hater of teaching is like a beast.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਿੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੁਧਰਨਾ ਵੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਝਿੜਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰੇ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ਼ ਹੈ।

2 A good man has grace in the eyes of the Lord; but the man of evil designs gets punishment from him.ਇੱਕ ਨੇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਉਹ (ਯਹੋਵਾਹ) ਇੱਕ ਸੱਕੀਮੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਦਾ ਹੈ।

3 No man will make himself safe through evil-doing; but the root of upright men will never be moved.ਇੱਕ ਜਣਾ ਬਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ, ਪਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਉਖਾੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ।

4 A woman of virtue is a crown to her husband; but she whose behaviour is a cause of shame is like a wasting disease in his bones.ਨੇਕ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਾਜ਼ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਔਰਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।

5 The purposes of upright men are right, but the designs of evil-doers are deceit.ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਨਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀਆ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਘ੍ਰਿਣਾਯੋਗ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

6 The words of sinners are destruction for the upright; but the mouth of upright men is their salvation.ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

7 Evil-doers are overturned and never seen again, but the house of upright men will keep its place.ਬੁਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਖੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਦੇ ਪਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।

8 A man will be praised in the measure of his wisdom, but a wrong-minded man will be looked down on.ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸਤਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਮਾਗ ਪੁੱਠੇ ਹਨ ਤਿਰਸੱਕਾਰੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

9 He who is of low position and has a servant, is better than one who has a high opinion of himself and is in need of bread.ਮਹੱਤਵਹੀਣ ਹੋਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਵ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਹੈ।

10 An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evil-doers are cruel.ਇੱਕ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਵੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹਰ ਸਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਲਮ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

11 He who does work on his land will not be short of bread; but he who goes after foolish men is without sense.ਉਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਖੇਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਦੇ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਫ਼ਜ਼ੂਲ ਵਿੱਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਭੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਝ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

12 The resting-place of the sinner will come to destruction, but the root of upright men is for ever.ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ-ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੁੱਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਉੱਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

13 In the sin of the lips is a net which takes the sinner, but the upright man will come out of trouble.ਇੱਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਫ਼ਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਧਰਮੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

14 From the fruit of his mouth will a man have good food in full measure, and the work of a man's hands will be rewarded.ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਇਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਬਚਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

15 The way of the foolish man seems right to him? but the wise man gives ear to suggestions.ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦਾ ਅਪਣੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

16 A foolish man lets his trouble be openly seen, but a sharp man keeps shame secret.ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦਾ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਸਮਝਦਾਰ ਬੰਦਾ, ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

17 The breathing out of true words gives knowledge of righteousness; but a false witness gives out deceit.ਇੱਕ ਸੱਚਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਸਹੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਝੂਠਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਝੂਠ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

18 There are some whose uncontrolled talk is like the wounds of a sword, but the tongue of the wise makes one well again.ਬਿਨਾ ਸੋਚੇ ਸਮਝੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ਖਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੀ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

19 True lips are certain for ever, but a false tongue is only for a minute.ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੁਲ੍ਹ ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬੋੜੇ ਹੀ ਪਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

20 Deceit is in the heart of those whose designs are evil, but for those purposing peace there is joy.ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਬਦ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਘ੍ਰਿਣਾਯੋਗ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਤਸਾਹਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਨ।

21 No trouble will come to upright men, but sinners will be full of evil.ਇੱਕ ਧਰਮੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਠਿਣਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

22 False lips are hated by the Lord, but those whose acts are true are his delight.ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

23 A sharp man keeps back his knowledge; but the heart of foolish men makes clear their foolish thoughts.ਸਿਆਣੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਾਂਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾਈ ਦਰਸਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

24 The hand of the ready worker will have authority, but he who is slow in his work will be put to forced work.ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਸੁਸਤ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।

25 Care in the heart of a man makes it weighted down, but a good word makes it glad.ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰੀ ਬੋਝ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਚੰਗੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

26 The upright man is a guide to his neighbour, but the way of evil-doers is a cause of error to them.ਧਰਮੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

27 He who is slow in his work does not go in search of food; but the ready worker gets much wealth.ਇੱਕ ਆਲਸੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਹ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਅੱਤ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

28 In the road of righteousness is life, but the way of the evil-doer goes to death.ਜ਼ਿਦਗੀ ਨੇਕੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੌਤ ਵੱਲ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
