ਪਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, “ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਆਖਣਾ।”
