  1. מַשְׂכִּ֗יל Maschil maśkîl לְאָ֫סָ֥ף of Asaph. ʾāsāp
  2. לָמָ֣ה why אֱ֭לֹהִים O God, ʾĕlōhîm זָנַ֣חְתָּ hast thou cast off zānaḥ לָנֶ֑צַח for ever? neṣaḥ יֶעְשַׁ֥ן smoke ʿāšan אַ֝פְּךָ֗ doth thine anger ʾap בְּצֹ֣אן against the sheep ṣōn מַרְעִיתֶֽךָ׃ of thy pasture? mirʿît
  3. זְכֹ֤ר Remember zākar עֲדָתְךָ֙׀ thy congregation, ʿēdâ קָ֘נִ֤יתָ thou hast purchased qānâ קֶּ֗דֶם of old; qedem גָּ֭אַלְתָּ thou hast redeemed; gāʾal שֵׁ֣בֶט the rod šēbeṭ נַחֲלָתֶ֑ךָ of thine inheritance, naḥălâ הַר mount har צִ֝יּ֗וֹן Zion, ṣiyyôn זֶ֤ה׀ this ze שָׁכַ֬נְתָּ wherein thou hast dwelt. šākan בּֽוֹ׃
  4. הָרִ֣ימָה Lift up rûm פְ֭עָמֶיךָ thy feet paʿam לְמַשֻּׁא֣וֹת desolations; maššûʾâ נֶ֑צַח unto the perpetual neṣaḥ כָּל all kōl הֵרַ֖ע hath done wickedly rāʿaʿ אוֹיֵ֣ב the enemy ʾōyēb בַּקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ in the sanctuary. qōdeš
  5. שָׁאֲג֣וּ roar šāʾag צֹ֭רְרֶיךָ Thine enemies ṣārar בְּקֶ֣רֶב in the midst qereb מוֹעֲדֶ֑ךָ of thy congregations; môʿēd שָׂ֖מוּ they set up śûm אוֹתֹתָ֣ם their ensigns ʾôt אֹתֽוֹת׃ signs. ʾôt
  6. יִ֭וָּדַע was famous yādaʿ כְּמֵבִ֣יא according as he had lifted up bôʾ לְמָ֑עְלָה maʿal בִּֽסֲבָךְ upon the thick sĕbok עֵ֝֗ץ trees. ʿēṣ קַרְדֻּמּֽוֹת׃ axes qardōm
  7. וְ֭עַתָּ But now ʿattâ פִּתּוּחֶ֣יהָ the carved work pittûaḥ יָּ֑חַד thereof at once yaḥad בְּכַשִּׁ֥יל with axes kaššîl וְ֝כֵֽילַפּ֗וֹת and hammers. kêlap יַהֲלֹמֽוּן׃ they break down hālam
  8. שִׁלְח֣וּ They have cast šālaḥ בָ֭אֵשׁ fire ʾēš מִקְדָּשֶׁ֑ךָ into thy sanctuary, miqdoš לָ֝אָ֗רֶץ to the ground. ʾereṣ חִלְּל֥וּ they have defiled ḥālal מִֽשְׁכַּן the dwelling place miškān שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ of thy name šēm
  9. אָמְר֣וּ They said ʾāmar בְ֭לִבָּם in their hearts, lēb נִינָ֣ם Let us destroy yānâ יָ֑חַד them together: yaḥad שָׂרְפ֖וּ they have burned up śārap כָל all kōl מוֹעֲדֵי the synagogues môʿēd אֵ֣ל of God ʾēl בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ in the land. ʾereṣ
  10. אֽוֹתֹתֵ֗ינוּ our signs: ʾôt לֹ֥א not lōʾ רָ֫אִ֥ינוּ We see rāʾâ אֵֽין no ʾayin ע֥וֹד more ʿôd נָבִ֑יא any prophet: nābîʾ וְלֹֽא neither lōʾ אִ֝תָּ֗נוּ among ʾēt יֹדֵ֥עַ us any that knoweth yādaʿ עַד how long. ʿad מָֽה׃
  11. עַד how long ʿad מָתַ֣י mātay אֱ֭לֹהִים O God, ʾĕlōhîm יְחָ֣רֶף reproach? ḥārap צָ֑ר shall the adversary ṣar יְנָ֘אֵ֤ץ blaspheme nāʾaṣ אוֹיֵ֖ב shall the enemy ʾōyēb שִׁמְךָ֣ thy name šēm לָנֶֽצַח׃ for ever? neṣaḥ
  12. לָ֤מָּה Why תָשִׁ֣יב withdrawest šûb יָ֭דְךָ thou thy hand, yād וִֽימִינֶ֑ךָ even thy right hand? yāmîn מִקֶּ֖רֶב out of qereb חֵֽוקְךָ֣ thy bosom. ḥêq כַלֵּֽה׃ pluck kālâ
  13. וֵ֭אלֹהִים For God ʾĕlōhîm מַלְכִּ֣י my King melek מִקֶּ֑דֶם of old, qedem פֹּעֵ֥ל working pāʿal יְ֝שׁוּע֗וֹת salvation yĕšûʿâ בְּקֶ֣רֶב in the midst qereb הָאָֽרֶץ׃ of the earth. ʾereṣ
  14. אַתָּ֤ה Thou ʾattâ פוֹרַ֣רְתָּ didst divide pārar בְעָזְּךָ֣ by thy strength: ʿōz יָ֑ם the sea yām שִׁבַּ֖רְתָּ thou brakest šābar רָאשֵׁ֥י the heads rōš תַ֝נִּינִ֗ים of the dragons tannîn עַל in ʿal הַמָּֽיִם׃ the waters. mayim
  15. אַתָּ֣ה Thou ʾattâ רִ֭צַּצְתָּ brakest rāṣaṣ רָאשֵׁ֣י the heads rōš לִוְיָתָ֑ן of leviathan liwyātān תִּתְּנֶ֥נּוּ in pieces, gavest nātan מַ֝אֲכָ֗ל him meat maʾăkāl לְעָ֣ם to the people ʿam לְצִיִּֽים׃ inhabiting the wilderness. ṣiyyî
  16. אַתָּ֣ה Thou ʾattâ בָ֭קַעְתָּ didst cleave bāqaʿ מַעְיָ֣ן the fountain maʿyān וָנָ֑חַל and the flood: naḥal אַתָּ֥ה thou ʾattâ ה֝וֹבַ֗שְׁתָּ driedst up yābēš נַהֲר֥וֹת rivers. nāhār אֵיתָֽן׃ mighty ʾêtān
  17. לְךָ֣ י֭וֹם The day yôm אַף also ʾap לְךָ֥ לָ֑יְלָה thine, the night layil אַתָּ֥ה thine: thou ʾattâ הֲ֝כִינ֗וֹתָ hast prepared kûn מָא֥וֹר the light māʾôr וָשָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ and the sun. šemeš
  18. אַתָּ֣ה Thou ʾattâ הִ֭צַּבְתָּ hast set nāṣab כָּל all kōl גְּבוּל֣וֹת the borders gĕbûlâ אָ֑רֶץ of the earth: ʾereṣ קַ֥יִץ summer qayiṣ וָ֝חֹ֗רֶף and winter. ḥōrep אַתָּ֥ה thou ʾattâ יְצַרְתָּם׃ hast made yāṣar
  19. זְכָר Remember zākar זֹ֗את this, zōt א֭וֹיֵב the enemy ʾōyēb חֵרֵ֣ף׀ hath reproached, ḥārap יְהוָ֑ה O Lord, yĕhōwâ וְעַ֥ם people ʿam נָ֝בָ֗ל and the foolish nābāl נִֽאֲצ֥וּ have blasphemed nāʾaṣ שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ thy name. šēm
  20. אַל not ʾal תִּתֵּ֣ן O deliver nātan לְ֭חַיַּת unto the multitude ḥay נֶ֣פֶשׁ the soul nepeš תּוֹרֶ֑ךָ of thy turtledove tôr חַיַּ֥ת the congregation ḥay עֲ֝נִיֶּ֗יךָ of thy poor ʿānî אַל not ʾal תִּשְׁכַּ֥ח forget šākaḥ לָנֶֽצַח׃ for ever. neṣaḥ
  21. הַבֵּ֥ט Have respect nābaṭ לַבְּרִ֑ית unto the covenant: bĕrît כִּ֥י for מָלְא֥וּ are full mālēʾ מַחֲשַׁכֵּי the dark places maḥšok אֶ֝֗רֶץ of the earth ʾereṣ נְא֣וֹת of the habitations nāʾâ חָמָֽס׃ of cruelty. ḥāmās
  22. אַל O let not ʾal יָשֹׁ֣ב return šûb דַּ֣ךְ the oppressed dak נִכְלָ֑ם ashamed: kālam עָנִ֥י let the poor ʿānî וְ֝אֶבְי֗וֹן and needy ʾebyôn יְֽהַלְל֥וּ praise hālal שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ thy name. šēm
  23. קוּמָ֣ה Arise, qûm אֱ֭לֹהִים O God, ʾĕlōhîm רִיבָ֣ה plead rîb רִיבֶ֑ךָ thine own cause: rîb זְכֹ֥ר remember zākar חֶרְפָּתְךָ֥ reproacheth ḥerpâ מִנִּי how min נָ֝בָ֗ל the foolish man nābāl כָּל kōl הַיּֽוֹם׃ thee daily. yôm
  24. אַל not ʾal תִּ֭שְׁכַּח Forget šākaḥ ק֣וֹל the voice qôl צֹרְרֶ֑יךָ of thine enemies: ṣārar שְׁא֥וֹן the tumult šāʾôn קָ֝מֶ֗יךָ of those that rise up against qûm עֹלֶ֥ה thee increaseth ʿālâ תָמִֽיד׃ continually. tāmîd
