רַנְּנ֣וּ Rejoice rānan צַ֭דִּיקִים O ye righteous: ṣaddîq בַּֽיהוָ֑ה in the Lord, yĕhōwâ לַ֝יְשָׁרִ֗ים for the upright. yāšār נָאוָ֥ה is comely nāʾwe תְהִלָּֽה׃ praise tĕhillâ

הוֹד֣וּ Praise yādâ לַיהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּכִנּ֑וֹר with harp: kinnôr בְּנֵ֥בֶל unto him with the psaltery nebel עָ֝שׂ֗וֹר an instrument of ten strings. ʿāśôr זַמְּרוּ sing zāmar לֽוֹ׃

שִֽׁירוּ Sing šîr ל֭וֹ שִׁ֣יר song; šîr חָדָ֑שׁ unto him a new ḥādoš הֵיטִ֥יבוּ skilfully yāṭab נַ֝גֵּ֗ן play nāgan בִּתְרוּעָֽה׃ with a loud noise. tĕrûʿâ

כִּֽי For kî יָשָׁ֥ר right; yāšār דְּבַר the word dābār יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ וְכָל and all kōl מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗הוּ his works maʿăśe בֶּאֱמוּנָֽה׃ in truth. ʾĕmûnâ

אֹ֭הֵב He loveth ʾāhab צְדָקָ֣ה righteousness ṣĕdāqâ וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט and judgment: mišpāṭ חֶ֥סֶד of the goodness ḥēsēd יְ֝הוָ֗ה of the Lord. yĕhōwâ מָלְאָ֥ה is full mālēʾ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the earth ʾereṣ

בִּדְבַ֣ר By the word dābār יְ֭הוָה of the Lord yĕhōwâ שָׁמַ֣יִם were the heavens šāmayim נַעֲשׂ֑וּ made; ʿāśâ וּבְר֥וּחַ of them by the breath rûaḥ פִּ֝֗יו of his mouth. pe כָּל and all kōl צְבָאָֽם׃ the host ṣābāʾ

כֹּנֵ֣ס He gathereth kānas כַּ֭נֵּד together as an heap: nēd מֵ֣י the waters mayim הַיָּ֑ם of the sea yām נֹתֵ֖ן he layeth up nātan בְּאוֹצָר֣וֹת in storehouses. ʾôṣār תְּהוֹמֽוֹת׃ the depth tĕhôm

יִֽירְא֣וּ fear yārēʾ מֵ֭יְהוָה the Lord: yĕhōwâ כָּל Let all kōl הָאָ֑רֶץ the earth ʾereṣ מִמֶּ֥נּוּ of him. min יָ֝ג֗וּרוּ stand in awe gûr כָּל let all kōl יֹשְׁבֵ֥י the inhabitants yāšab תֵבֵֽל׃ of the world tēbēl

כִּ֤י For kî ה֣וּא he hûʾ אָמַ֣ר spake, ʾāmar וַיֶּ֑הִי and it was hāyâ הֽוּא he hûʾ צִ֝וָּ֗ה commanded, ṣāwâ וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽד׃ and it stood fast. ʿāmad

יְֽהוָ֗ה The Lord yĕhōwâ הֵפִ֥יר bringeth pûr עֲצַת the counsel ʿēṣâ גּוֹיִ֑ם of the heathen gôy הֵ֝נִ֗יא to nought: he maketh nûʾ מַחְשְׁב֥וֹת the devices maḥăšābâ עַמִּֽים׃ of the people of none effect. ʿam

עֲצַ֣ת The counsel ʿēṣâ יְ֭הוָה of the Lord yĕhōwâ לְעוֹלָ֣ם for ever, ʿôlām תַּעֲמֹ֑ד standeth ʿāmad מַחְשְׁב֥וֹת the thoughts maḥăšābâ לִ֝בּ֗וֹ of his heart lēb לְדֹ֣ר to all dôr וָדֹֽר׃ generations. dôr

אַשְׁרֵ֣י Blessed ʾešer הַ֭גּוֹי the nation gôy אֲשֶׁר whose ʾăšer יְהוָ֣ה the Lord; yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהָ֑יו God ʾĕlōhîm הָעָ֓ם׀ the people ʿam בָּחַ֖ר he hath chosen bāḥar לְנַחֲלָ֣ה for his own inheritance. naḥălâ לֽוֹ׃

מִ֭שָּׁמַיִם from heaven; šāmayim הִבִּ֣יט looketh nābaṭ יְהוָ֑ה The Lord yĕhōwâ רָ֝אָ֗ה he beholdeth rāʾâ אֶֽת ʾēt כָּל all kōl בְּנֵ֥י the sons bēn הָאָדָֽם׃ of men. ʾādām

מִֽמְּכוֹן From the place mākôn שִׁבְתּ֥וֹ of his habitation yāšab הִשְׁגִּ֑יחַ he looketh šāgaḥ אֶ֖ל upon ʾēl כָּל all kōl יֹשְׁבֵ֣י the inhabitants yāšab הָאָֽרֶץ׃ of the earth. ʾereṣ

הַיֹּצֵ֣ר He fashioneth yāṣar יַ֣חַד alike; yaḥad לִבָּ֑ם their hearts lēb הַ֝מֵּבִ֗ין he considereth bîn אֶל ʾēl כָּל all kōl מַעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃ their works. maʿăśe

אֵֽין There is no ʾayin הַ֭מֶּלֶךְ king melek נוֹשָׁ֣ע saved yāšaʿ בְּרָב by the multitude rōb חָ֑יִל of an host: ḥayil גִּ֝בּ֗וֹר a mighty man gibbôr לֹֽא is not lōʾ יִנָּצֵ֥ל delivered nāṣal בְּרָב by much rōb כֹּֽחַ׃ strength. kōaḥ

שֶׁ֣קֶר a vain thing šeqer הַ֭סּוּס An horse sûs לִתְשׁוּעָ֑ה for safety: tĕšûʿâ וּבְרֹ֥ב by his great rōb חֵ֝יל֗וֹ strength. ḥayil לֹ֣א neither lōʾ יְמַלֵּֽט׃ shall he deliver mālaṭ

הִנֵּ֤ה Behold, hinnē עֵ֣ין the eye ʿayin יְ֭הוָה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל upon ʾēl יְרֵאָ֑יו them that fear yārēʾ לַֽמְיַחֲלִ֥ים him, upon them that hope yāḥal לְחַסְדּֽוֹ׃ in his mercy; ḥēsēd

לְהַצִּ֣יל To deliver nāṣal מִמָּ֣וֶת from death, māwet נַפְשָׁ֑ם their soul nepeš וּ֝לְחַיּוֹתָ֗ם and to keep them alive ḥāyâ בָּרָעָֽב׃ in famine. rāʿāb

נַ֭פְשֵׁנוּ Our soul nepeš חִכְּתָ֣ה waiteth ḥākâ לַֽיהוָ֑ה for the Lord: yĕhōwâ עֶזְרֵ֖נוּ our help ʿēzer וּמָגִנֵּ֣נוּ and our shield. māgēn הֽוּא׃ he hûʾ

כִּי For kî ב֭וֹ יִשְׂמַ֣ח shall rejoice śāmaḥ לִבֵּ֑נוּ our heart lēb כִּ֤י in him, because kî בְשֵׁ֖ם name. šēm קָדְשׁ֣וֹ in his holy qōdeš בָטָֽחְנוּ׃ we have trusted bāṭaḥ

יְהִֽי be hāyâ חַסְדְּךָ֣ Let thy mercy, ḥēsēd יְהוָ֣ה O Lord, yĕhōwâ עָלֵ֑ינוּ upon ʿal כַּ֝אֲשֶׁ֗ר us, according as ʾăšer יִחַ֥לְנוּ we hope in thee. yāḥal לָֽךְ׃
