अबीगेललाई भेट्न भन्दा अघि दाऊदले भन्दै थिए, “मैले त्यस मरूभूमिमा नाबालको सम्पत्ति रक्षा गरें। मैले यति सुरक्षा गरें कि नाबालले केही नोक्सान भोगेनन्। मैले गरेको सबै व्यर्थ भयो। मैले भलाई गरें तर त्यसले त दुर्व्यवहार गर्यो।
