ಆಗ ಆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿಯು ಹೊರಟು ಲಯಿಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿರುವ ಆ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೋಡು ವಾಗ ಅವರು ನಿಶ್ಚಿಂತರಾಗಿಯೂ ಚೀದೋನ್ಯರ ಹಾಗೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು; ಯಾವ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿಹಿಡಿಯುವ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರ ಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ಚೀದೋನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿದ್ದರು; ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಕೆಲಸವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.

therein, בְּקִרְבָּ֣הּ qereb keh-REV
how they dwelt יוֹשֶֽׁבֶת yāšab ya-SHAHV
careless, לָ֠בֶטַח beṭaḥ beh-TAHK
after the manner כְּמִשְׁפַּ֨ט mišpāṭ meesh-PAHT
of the Zidonians, צִֽדֹנִ֜ים ṣîdōnî tsee-doh-NEE
quiet שֹׁקֵ֣ט׀ šāqaṭ sha-KAHT
and secure; וּבֹטֵ֗חַ bāṭaḥ ba-TAHK
and no וְאֵין ʾayin ah-YEEN
that might put to shame מַכְלִ֨ים kālam ka-LAHM
in thing; דָּבָ֤ר dābār da-VAHR
in the land, בָּאָ֙רֶץ֙ ʾereṣ eh-RETS
magistrate יוֹרֵ֣שׁ yāraš ya-RAHSH
עֶ֔צֶר ʿeṣer eh-TSER
far וּרְחוֹקִ֥ים rāḥôq ra-HOKE
and they הֵ֙מָּה֙ hēm hame
from the Zidonians, מִצִּ֣ידֹנִ֔ים ṣîdōnî tsee-doh-NEE
business וְדָבָ֥ר dābār da-VAHR
and had no אֵין ʾayin ah-YEEN
לָהֶ֖ם
with עִם ʿim eem
man. אָדָֽם׃ ʾādām ah-DAHM
