1ಇವುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಬಂದು--ಅಬ್ರಾಮನೇ, ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ; ನಾನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ ಬಹುಮಾನವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು--ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರೇ, ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೇನು? ನಾನು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈ ದಮಸ್ಕದವನಾದ ಎಲೀಯೆಜರನು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಾ ಗಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದನು.And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
3ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು--ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ನನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗಿ ರುವನು ಅಂದಾಗAnd Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
4ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--ಇವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವ ದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವನು ಅಂದನು.And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
5ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು--ಈಗ ನೀನು ಆಕಾಶವನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಶಕ್ತನಾದರೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸು ಅಂದನು. ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಯು ಆಗುವದು ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6ಅಬ್ರಾ ಮನು ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೀತಿ ಎಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿದನು.And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
7ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಲ್ದೀಯರ ಊರ್ನಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಾನೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
8ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು--ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದುವೆನೆಂದು ಯಾವದ ರಿಂದ ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಅಂದನು.And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
9ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ--ಮೂರು ಮೂರು ವರುಷದ ಕಡಸು ಆಡು ಟಗರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಬೆಳವಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಮರಿಯನ್ನೂ ನನಗಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ ಅಂದನು.And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
10ಅವನು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆತನಿಗಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಡುವೆ ತುಂಡುಮಾಡಿ ಒಂದು ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದರ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು; ಆದರೆ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಡುಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
11ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಆ ಶವಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದಾಗ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸಿದನು.And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
12ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಅಸ್ತಮಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಗಾಢನಿದ್ರೆ ಹತ್ತಿತು. ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ಭಯದ ಘೋರಾಂಧಕಾರವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕವಿಯಿತು.And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿ ಯವರು ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರದೇಶಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವರು. ಅವರು ನಾನೂರು ವರುಷ ಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರನ್ನು ಶ್ರಮೆಪಡಿಸುವರು ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ತಿಳಿಯತಕ್ಕದ್ದು.And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14ಅವರು ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ನ್ಯಾಯ ತೀರಿಸುವೆನು; ತರುವಾಯ ಮಹಾ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವರು.And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
15ನೀನಾದರೋ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಿ; ಬಹಳ ಮುದಿಪ್ರಾಯದವನಾಗಿ (ಮೃತಿ ಹೊಂದಿ) ಹೂಣಲ್ಪಡುವಿ.And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
16ಆದರೆ ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ಸಂತಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರುವರು; ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ದುಷ್ಟತನವು ಇನ್ನೂ ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
17ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಮುಳುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕತ್ತಲಾದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಹೊಗೆಹಾಯುವ ಒಲೆಯೂ ಉರಿಯುವ ದೀಪವೂ ತುಂಡುಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದುಹೋದವು.And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
18ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಅಬ್ರಾಮನ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು--ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ನದಿಯಿಂದ ಮಹಾನದಿಯಾದ ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಯ ವರೆಗೆ ವಾಸಿಸುವIn the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
19ಕೇನಿಯರೂ ಕೆನಿಜೀಯರೂ ಕದ್ಮೋನಿ ಯರೂThe Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
20ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರೂ ಪೆರಿಜೀಯರೂ ರೆಫಾಯರೂAnd the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaim,
21ಅಮೋರಿಯರೂ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರೂ ಗಿರ್ಗಾಷಿಯರೂ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
