ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಬಾಳನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠ ಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಾಬನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ವಿಗ್ರಹದ ತೋಪನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಆಕಾಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೈನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದನು.
