ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ದೇವ ರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಾನು ಬಹು ರೋಷವುಳ್ಳವ ನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲಿ ಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನಾನು ಹೌದು, ನಾನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಉಳಿದಿ ದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡಲು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.

And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
