யோசுவாவினிடத்தில் திரும்பிவந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் போகவேண்டியதில்லை; ஏறக்குறைய இரண்டாயிரம் மூவாயிரம்பேர் போய், ஆயியை முறிய அடிக்கலாம்; எல்லா ஜனங்களையும் அங்கே போகும்படி வருத்தப்படுத்தவேண்டியதில்லை; அவர்கள் கொஞ்சம்பேர்தான் என்றார்கள்.

பின்னர் அவர்கள் யோசுவாவிடம் திரும்பி வந்து, “ஆயீ ஒரு பலவீனமான பகுதி. அவ்விடத்தை தோற்கடிக்க நம் ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும் தேவையில்லை. 2,000 அல்லது 3,000 ஆட்களை அங்கு போர்செய்ய அனுப்புங்கள். படை முழுவதையும் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டியிராது. நம்மை எதிர்த்துப் போர் செய்வதற்குச் சில மனிதர்களே உள்ளனர்” என்றார்கள்.

அவர்கள் திரும்பி வந்து யோசுவாவிடம், “மக்கள் எல்லாரையும் அனுப்பவேண்டாம். இரண்டாயிரம் அல்லது மூவாயிரம் பேர் சென்று ஆயி நகரைத் தாக்கட்டும். மக்கள் எல்லாரும் அங்குச் சென்று களைப்படைய வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில், அங்குள்ளவர்கள் சிலரே” என்றனர்.

Yosuvaavinidaththil thirumpivanthu, avanai Nnokki: janangal ellaarum pokavaenntiyathillai; aerakkuraiya iranndaayiram moovaayirampaer poy, aayiyai muriya atikkalaam; ellaa janangalaiyum angae pokumpati varuththappaduththavaenntiyathillai; avarkal konjampaerthaan entarkal.
