וַיְהִי֩ And it came to pass, hāyâ כְּכַלּ֨וֹת had made an end kālâ יִרְמְיָ֜הוּ when Jeremiah yirmĕyâ לְדַבֵּ֣ר of speaking dābar אֶל unto ʾēl כָּל all kōl הָעָ֗ם the people ʿam אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl דִּבְרֵי֙ the words dābār יְהוָ֣ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם their God, ʾĕlōhîm אֲשֶׁ֧ר for which ʾăšer שְׁלָח֛וֹ had sent šālaḥ יְהוָ֥ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם their God ʾĕlōhîm אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם him to ʾēl אֵ֥ת them, ʾēt כָּל all kōl הַדְּבָרִ֖ים words, dābār הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ these ʾēlle

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר Then spake ʾāmar עֲזַרְיָ֤ה Azariah ʿăzaryâ בֶן the son bēn הוֹשַֽׁעְיָה֙ of Hoshaiah, hôšaʿyâ וְיוֹחָנָ֣ן and Johanan yôḥānān בֶּן the son bēn קָרֵ֔חַ of Kareah, qārēaḥ וְכָל and all kōl הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים men, ʾîš הַזֵּדִ֑ים the proud zēd אֹמְרִ֣ים saying ʾāmar אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ שֶׁ֚קֶר falsely: šeqer אַתָּ֣ה Thou ʾattâ מְדַבֵּ֔ר speakest dābar לֹ֣א hath not lōʾ שְׁלָחֲךָ֞ sent šālaḥ יְהוָ֤ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ our God ʾĕlōhîm לֵאמֹ֔ר thee to say, ʾāmar לֹֽא not lōʾ תָבֹ֥אוּ Go bôʾ מִצְרַ֖יִם into Egypt miṣrayim לָג֥וּר to sojourn there: gûr שָֽׁם׃ šām

כִּ֗י But kî בָּרוּךְ֙ Baruch bārûk בֶּן the son bēn נֵ֣רִיָּ֔ה of Neriah nēriyyâ מַסִּ֥ית setteth thee on sût אֹתְךָ֖ ʾēt בָּ֑נוּ לְמַעַן֩ against us, for to maʿan תֵּ֨ת deliver nātan אֹתָ֤נוּ ʾēt בְיַֽד us into the hand yād הַכַּשְׂדִּים֙ of the Chaldeans, kaśdî לְהָמִ֣ית that they might put us to death, mût אֹתָ֔נוּ ʾēt וּלְהַגְל֥וֹת and carry us away captives gālâ אֹתָ֖נוּ ʾēt בָּבֶֽל׃ into Babylon. bābel

וְלֹֽא not lōʾ שָׁמַע֩ obeyed šāmaʿ יוֹחָנָ֨ן So Johanan yôḥānān בֶּן the son bēn קָרֵ֜חַ of Kareah, qārēaḥ וְכָל and all kōl שָׂרֵ֧י the captains śar הַחֲיָלִ֛ים of the forces, ḥayil וְכָל and all kōl הָעָ֖ם the people, ʿam בְּק֣וֹל the voice qôl יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ לָשֶׁ֖בֶת to dwell yāšab בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah. yĕhûdâ

וַיִּקַּ֞ח took lāqaḥ יוֹחָנָ֤ן But Johanan yôḥānān בֶּן the son bēn קָרֵ֙חַ֙ of Kareah, qārēaḥ וְכָל and all kōl שָׂרֵ֣י the captains śar הַחֲיָלִ֔ים of the forces, ḥayil אֵ֖ת ʾēt כָּל all kōl שְׁאֵרִ֣ית the remnant šĕʾērît יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah, yĕhûdâ אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer שָׁ֗בוּ were returned šûb מִכָּל from all kōl הַגּוֹיִם֙ nations, gôy אֲשֶׁ֣ר whither ʾăšer נִדְּחוּ they had been driven, nādaḥ שָׁ֔ם šām לָג֖וּר to dwell gûr בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah; yĕhûdâ

אֶֽת ʾēt הַ֠גְּבָרִים men, geber וְאֶת ʾēt הַנָּשִׁ֣ים and women, ʾiššâ וְאֶת ʾēt הַטַּף֮ and children, ṭap וְאֶת ʾēt בְּנ֣וֹת daughters, bat הַמֶּלֶךְ֒ and the king's melek וְאֵ֣ת ʾēt כָּל and every kōl הַנֶּ֗פֶשׁ person nepeš אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ʾăšer הִנִּ֙יחַ֙ had left yānaḥ נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֣ן Nebuzar-adan nĕbûzarʾădān רַב the captain rab טַבָּחִ֔ים of the guard ṭabbāḥ אֶת with ʾēt גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ Gedaliah gĕddalyâ בֶּן the son bēn אֲחִיקָ֣ם of Ahikam ʾăḥîqām בֶּן the son bēn שָׁפָ֑ן of Shaphan, šāpān וְאֵת֙ ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ and Jeremiah yirmĕyâ הַנָּבִ֔יא the prophet, nābîʾ וְאֶת ʾēt בָּר֖וּךְ and Baruch bārûk בֶּן the son bēn נֵרִיָּֽהוּ׃ of Neriah. nēriyyâ

וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ So they came into bôʾ אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt: miṣrayim כִּ֛י for kî לֹ֥א not lōʾ שָׁמְע֖וּ they obeyed šāmaʿ בְּק֣וֹל the voice qôl יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord: yĕhōwâ וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ thus came bôʾ עַד they to ʿad תַּחְפַּנְחֵֽס׃ Tahpanhes. taḥpanḥēs

וַיְהִ֤י Then came hāyâ דְבַר the word dābār יְהוָה֙ of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בְּתַחְפַּנְחֵ֖ס in Tahpanhes, taḥpanḥēs לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

קַ֣ח Take lāqaḥ בְּיָדְךָ֞ in thine hand, yād אֲבָנִ֣ים stones ʾeben גְּדֹל֗וֹת great gādôl וּטְמַנְתָּ֤ם and hide ṭāman בַּמֶּ֙לֶט֙ them in the clay meleṭ בַּמַּלְבֵּ֔ן in the brickkiln, malbēn אֲשֶׁ֛ר which ʾăšer בְּפֶ֥תַח at the entry petaḥ בֵּית house bayit פַּרְעֹ֖ה of Pharaoh's parʿō בְּתַחְפַּנְחֵ֑ס in Tahpanhes, taḥpanḥēs לְעֵינֵ֖י in the sight ʿayin אֲנָשִׁ֥ים of the men ʾĕnôš יְהוּדִֽים׃ of Judah; yĕhûdî

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ And say ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶ֡ם unto ʾēl כֹּֽה them, Thus kō אָמַר֩ saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֨ה the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֜וֹת of hosts, ṣābāʾ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel; yiśrāʾēl הִנְנִ֤י Behold, hēn שֹׁלֵ֙חַ֙ I will send šālaḥ וְ֠לָקַחְתִּי and take lāqaḥ אֶת ʾēt נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֤ר Nebuchadrezzar nĕbûkadneʾṣṣar מֶֽלֶךְ the king melek בָּבֶל֙ of Babylon, bābel עַבְדִּ֔י my servant, ʿebed וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י and will set śûm כִסְא֔וֹ his throne kissēʾ מִמַּ֛עַל upon maʿal לָאֲבָנִ֥ים stones ʾeben הָאֵ֖לֶּה these ʾēlle אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer טָמָ֑נְתִּי I have hid; ṭāman וְנָטָ֥ה and he shall spread nāṭâ אֶת ʾēt שַׁפְרִור֖וֹ his royal pavilion šaprûr עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ over them. ʿal

וּבָ֕אה And when he cometh, bôʾ וְהִכָּ֖ה he shall smite nākâ אֶת ʾēt אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim אֲשֶׁ֧ר such ʾăšer לַמָּ֣וֶת for death māwet לַמָּ֗וֶת to death; māwet וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר and such ʾăšer לַשְּׁבִי֙ for captivity šĕbî לַשֶּׁ֔בִי to captivity; šĕbî וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר and such ʾăšer לַחֶ֖רֶב for the sword ḥereb לֶחָֽרֶב׃ to the sword. ḥereb

וְהִצַּ֣תִּי And I will kindle yāṣat אֵ֗שׁ a fire ʾēš בְּבָתֵּי֙ in the houses bayit אֱלֹהֵ֣י of the gods ʾĕlōhîm מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt; miṣrayim וּשְׂרָפָ֖ם and he shall burn śārap וְשָׁבָ֑ם them, and carry them away captives: šābâ וְעָטָה֩ and he shall array himself ʿāṭâ אֶת with ʾēt אֶ֨רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֜יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim כַּאֲשֶׁר as ʾăšer יַעְטֶ֤ה putteth on ʿāṭâ הָֽרֹעֶה֙ a shepherd rāʿâ אֶת ʾēt בִּגְד֔וֹ his garment; beged וְיָצָ֥א and he shall go forth yāṣāʾ מִשָּׁ֖ם from thence šām בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃ in peace. šālôm

וְשִׁבַּ֗ר He shall break šābar אֶֽת also ʾēt מַצְּבוֹת֙ the images maṣṣēbâ בֵּ֣ית שֶׁ֔מֶשׁ of Beth-shemesh, bêt šemeš אֲשֶׁ֖ר that ʾăšer בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt; miṣrayim וְאֶת ʾēt בָּתֵּ֥י and the houses bayit אֱלֹהֵֽי of the gods ʾĕlōhîm מִצְרַ֖יִם of the Egyptians miṣrayim יִשְׂרֹ֥ף shall he burn śārap בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ with fire. ʾēš
