וַיִּשְׁמַ֞ע heard šāmaʿ שְׁפַטְיָ֣ה Then Shephatiah šĕpaṭyâ בֶן the son bēn מַתָּ֗ן of Mattan, mattān וּגְדַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ and Gedaliah gĕddalyâ בֶּן the son bēn פַּשְׁח֔וּר of Pashur, pašḥûr וְיוּכַל֙ and Jucal yûkal בֶּן the son bēn שֶׁ֣לֶמְיָ֔הוּ of Shelemiah, šelemyâ וּפַשְׁח֖וּר and Pashur pašḥûr בֶּן the son bēn מַלְכִּיָּ֑ה of Malchiah, malkiyyâ אֶ֨ת ʾēt הַדְּבָרִ֔ים the words dābār אֲשֶׁ֧ר that ʾăšer יִרְמְיָ֛הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ מְדַבֵּ֥ר had spoken dābar אֶל unto ʾēl כָּל all kōl הָעָ֖ם the people, ʿam לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

כֹּה֮ Thus kō אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָה֒ the Lord, yĕhōwâ הַיֹּשֵׁב֙ He that remaineth yāšab בָּעִ֣יר city ʿîr הַזֹּ֔את in this zōt יָמ֕וּת shall die mût בַּחֶ֖רֶב by the sword, ḥereb בָּרָעָ֣ב by the famine, rāʿāb וּבַדָּ֑בֶר and by the pestilence: deber וְהַיֹּצֵ֤א but he that goeth forth yāṣāʾ אֶל to ʾēl הַכַּשְׂדִּים֙ the Chaldeans kaśdî יְחָיָ֔ה shall live; ḥāyâ וְהָיְתָה for he shall have hāyâ לּ֥וֹ נַפְשׁ֛וֹ his life nepeš לְשָׁלָ֖ל for a prey, šālāl וָחָֽי׃ and shall live. ḥāyâ

כֹּ֖ה Thus kō אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ הִנָּתֹ֨ן shall surely nātan תִּנָּתֵ֜ן be given nātan הָעִ֣יר city ʿîr הַזֹּ֗את This zōt בְּיַ֛ד into the hand yād חֵ֥יל army, ḥayil מֶֽלֶךְ of the king melek בָּבֶ֖ל of Babylon's bābel וּלְכָדָֽהּ׃ which shall take it. lākad

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ said ʾāmar הַשָּׂרִ֜ים Therefore the princes śar אֶל unto ʾēl הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ the king, melek י֣וּמַת be put to death: mût נָא֮ We beseech thee, nāʾ אֶת let ʾēt הָאִ֣ישׁ man ʾîš הַזֶּה֒ this ze כִּֽי for kî עַל ʿal כֵּ֡ן thus kēn הֽוּא he hûʾ מְרַפֵּ֡א weakeneth rāpâ אֶת ʾēt יְדֵי֩ the hands yād אַנְשֵׁ֨י of the men ʾîš הַמִּלְחָמָ֜ה of war milḥāmâ הַֽנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים׀ that remain šāʾar בָּעִ֣יר city, ʿîr הַזֹּ֗את in this zōt וְאֵת֙ ʾēt יְדֵ֣י and the hands yād כָל of all kōl הָעָ֔ם the people, ʿam לְדַבֵּ֣ר in speaking dābar אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם unto ʾēl כַּדְּבָרִ֖ים words dābār הָאֵ֑לֶּה such ʾēlle כִּ֣י׀ them: for kî הָאִ֣ישׁ man ʾîš הַזֶּ֗ה this ze אֵינֶ֨נּוּ not ʾayin דֹרֵ֧שׁ seeketh dāraš לְשָׁל֛וֹם the welfare šālôm לָעָ֥ם people, ʿam הַזֶּ֖ה of this ze כִּ֥י but kî אִם ʾim לְרָעָֽה׃ the hurt. raʿ

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ said, ʾāmar הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ the king melek צִדְקִיָּ֔הוּ Then Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ הִנֵּה Behold, hinnē ה֖וּא he hûʾ בְּיֶדְכֶ֑ם in your hand: yād כִּֽי for kî אֵ֣ין not ʾayin הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king melek יוּכַ֥ל can do yākōl אֶתְכֶ֖ם ʾēt דָּבָֽר׃ thing against you. dābār

וַיִּקְח֣וּ Then took lāqaḥ אֶֽת they ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ וַיַּשְׁלִ֨כוּ and cast šālak אֹת֜וֹ ʾēt אֶל him into ʾēl הַבּ֣וֹר׀ the dungeon bôr מַלְכִּיָּ֣הוּ of Malchiah malkiyyâ בֶן the son bēn הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ of Hammelech, melek אֲשֶׁר֙ that ʾăšer בַּחֲצַ֣ר in the court ḥāṣēr הַמַּטָּרָ֔ה of the prison: maṭṭārāʾ וַיְשַׁלְּח֥וּ and they let down šālaḥ אֶֽת ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בַּחֲבָלִ֑ים with cords. ḥebel וּבַבּ֤וֹר And in the dungeon bôr אֵֽין no ʾayin מַ֙יִם֙ water, mayim כִּ֣י but kî אִם ʾim טִ֔יט mire: ṭîṭ וַיִּטְבַּ֥ע sunk ṭābaʿ יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ so Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בַּטִּֽיט׃ in the mire. ṭîṭ

וַיִּשְׁמַ֡ע heard šāmaʿ עֶֽבֶד מֶ֨לֶךְ Now when Ebed-melech ʿebed melek הַכּוּשִׁ֜י the Ethiopian, kûšî אִ֣ישׁ one ʾîš סָרִ֗יס of the eunuchs sārîs וְהוּא֙ which hûʾ בְּבֵ֣ית house, bayit הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ was in the king's melek כִּֽי that kî נָתְנ֥וּ they had put nātan אֶֽת ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ אֶל in ʾēl הַבּ֑וֹר the dungeon; bôr וְהַמֶּ֥לֶךְ the king melek יוֹשֵׁ֖ב then sitting yāšab בְּשַׁ֥עַר in the gate šaʿar בִּנְיָמִֽן׃ of Benjamin; binyāmîn

וַיֵּצֵ֥א went forth yāṣāʾ עֶֽבֶד מֶ֖לֶךְ Ebed-melech ʿebed melek מִבֵּ֣ית house, bayit הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ out of the king's melek וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר and spake dābar אֶל to ʾēl הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king, melek לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

אֲדֹנִ֣י My lord ʾādôn הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ the king, melek הֵרֵ֜עוּ have done evil rāʿaʿ הָאֲנָשִׁ֤ים men ʾîš הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ these ʾēlle אֵ֣ת in ʾēt כָּל all kōl אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ʾăšer עָשׂוּ֙ they have done ʿāśâ לְיִרְמְיָ֣הוּ to Jeremiah yirmĕyâ הַנָּבִ֔יא the prophet, nābîʾ אֵ֥ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר whom ʾăšer הִשְׁלִ֖יכוּ they have cast šālak אֶל into ʾēl הַבּ֑וֹר the dungeon; bôr וַיָּ֤מָת and he is like to die mût תַּחְתָּיו֙ in the place where taḥat מִפְּנֵ֣י for pānîm הָֽרָעָ֔ב hunger rāʿāb כִּ֣י he is: for kî אֵ֥ין no ʾayin הַלֶּ֛חֶם bread leḥem ע֖וֹד more ʿôd בָּעִֽיר׃ in the city. ʿîr

וַיְצַוֶּ֣ה commanded ṣāwâ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ Then the king melek אֵ֛ת ʾēt עֶֽבֶד מֶ֥לֶךְ Ebed-melech ʿebed melek הַכּוּשִׁ֖י the Ethiopian, kûšî לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar קַ֣ח Take lāqaḥ בְּיָדְךָ֤ with thee, yād מִזֶּה֙ from hence ze שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים thirty šĕlôšîm אֲנָשִׁ֔ים men ʾîš וְֽהַעֲלִ֜יתָ and take up ʿālâ אֶֽת ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֧הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ הַנָּבִ֛יא the prophet nābîʾ מִן out of min הַבּ֖וֹר the dungeon, bôr בְּטֶ֥רֶם before ṭerem יָמֽוּת׃ he die. mût

וַיִּקַּ֣ח׀ took lāqaḥ עֶֽבֶד מֶ֨לֶךְ So Ebed-melech ʿebed melek אֶת ʾēt הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים the men ʾîš בְּיָד֗וֹ with him, yād וַיָּבֹ֤א and went into bôʾ בֵית the house bayit הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ of the king melek אֶל under ʾēl תַּ֣חַת taḥat הָאוֹצָ֔ר the treasury, ʾôṣār וַיִּקַּ֤ח and took lāqaḥ מִשָּׁם֙ thence šām בְּלוֹיֵ֣ old bĕlôʾ הסְחָב֔וֹת cast clouts sĕḥābâ וּבְלוֹיֵ֖ and old bĕlôʾ מְלָחִ֑ים rotten rags, mālāḥ וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֧ם and let them down šālaḥ אֶֽל into ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֛הוּ Jeremiah. yirmĕyâ אֶל to ʾēl הַבּ֖וֹר the dungeon bôr בַּחֲבָלִֽים׃ by cords ḥebel

וַיֹּ֡אמֶר said ʾāmar עֶבֶד מֶ֨לֶךְ And Ebed-melech ʿebed melek הַכּוּשִׁ֜י the Ethiopian kûšî אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ שִׂ֣ים Put śûm נָ֠א now nāʾ בְּלוֹאֵ֨י old bĕlôʾ הַסְּחָב֤וֹת cast clouts sĕḥābâ וְהַמְּלָחִים֙ and rotten rags mālāḥ תַּ֚חַת under taḥat אַצִּל֣וֹת thine armholes ʾaṣṣîl יָדֶ֔יךָ yād מִתַּ֖חַת under taḥat לַחֲבָלִ֑ים the cords. ḥebel וַיַּ֥עַשׂ did so. ʿāśâ יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ And Jeremiah yirmĕyâ כֵּֽן׃ kēn

וַיִּמְשְׁכ֤וּ So they drew up māšak אֶֽת ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בַּֽחֲבָלִ֔ים with cords, ḥebel וַיַּעֲל֥וּ and took him up ʿālâ אֹת֖וֹ ʾēt מִן out of min הַבּ֑וֹר the dungeon: bôr וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב remained yāšab יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ and Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בַּחֲצַ֖ר in the court ḥāṣēr הַמַּטָּרָֽה׃ of the prison. maṭṭārāʾ

וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח sent, šālaḥ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ the king melek צִדְקִיָּ֗הוּ Then Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ וַיִּקַּ֞ח and took lāqaḥ אֶֽת ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֤הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ הַנָּבִיא֙ the prophet nābîʾ אֵלָ֔יו unto ʾēl אֶל him into ʾēl מָבוֹא֙ entry mābôʾ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י the third šĕlîšî אֲשֶׁ֖ר that ʾăšer בְּבֵ֣ית in the house bayit יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord: yĕhōwâ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said ʾāmar הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ and the king melek אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ שֹׁאֵ֨ל will ask šāʾal אֲנִ֤י I ʾănî אֹֽתְךָ֙ ʾēt דָּבָ֔ר thee a thing; dābār אַל nothing ʾal תְּכַחֵ֥ד hide kāḥad מִמֶּ֖נִּי from me. min דָּבָֽר׃ dābār

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said ʾāmar יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ Then Jeremiah yirmĕyâ אֶל unto ʾēl צִדְקִיָּ֔הוּ Zedekiah, ṣidqiyyâ כִּ֚י If kî אַגִּ֣יד I declare nāgad לְךָ֔ הֲל֖וֹא unto thee, wilt thou not lōʾ הָמֵ֣ת surely mût תְּמִיתֵ֑נִי put me to death? mût וְכִי֙ and if kî אִיעָ֣צְךָ֔ I give thee counsel, yāʿaṣ לֹ֥א wilt thou not lōʾ תִשְׁמַ֖ע hearken šāmaʿ אֵלָֽי׃ unto me? ʾēl

וַיִּשָּׁבַ֞ע sware šābaʿ הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ the king melek צִדְקִיָּ֛הוּ So Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ בַּסֵּ֣תֶר secretly sēter לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar חַי liveth, ḥay יְהוָ֞ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר֩ that ʾăšer עָשָׂה made ʿāśâ לָ֨נוּ אֶת us ʾēt הַנֶּ֤פֶשׁ soul, nepeš הַזֹּאת֙ this zōt אִם I will not ʾim אֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ put thee to death, mût וְאִם neither ʾim אֶתֶּנְךָ֗ will I give nātan בְּיַד֙ thee into the hand yād הָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים men ʾîš הָאֵ֔לֶּה of these ʾēlle אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer מְבַקְשִׁ֖ים seek bāqaš אֶת ʾēt נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ thy life. nepeš

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר Then said ʾāmar יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ אֶל unto ʾēl צִדְקִיָּ֡הוּ Zedekiah, ṣidqiyyâ כֹּֽה Thus kō אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָה֩ the Lord, yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֨י the God ʾĕlōhîm צְבָא֜וֹת of hosts, ṣābāʾ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel; yiśrāʾēl אִם If ʾim יָצֹ֨א thou wilt assuredly yāṣāʾ תֵצֵ֜א go forth yāṣāʾ אֶל unto ʾēl שָׂרֵ֤י princes, śar מֶֽלֶךְ the king melek בָּבֶל֙ of Babylon's bābel וְחָיְתָ֣ה shall live, ḥāyâ נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ then thy soul nepeš וְהָעִ֣יר city ʿîr הַזֹּ֔את and this zōt לֹ֥א shall not lōʾ תִשָּׂרֵ֖ף be burned śārap בָּאֵ֑שׁ with fire; ʾēš וְחָיִ֖תָה shalt live, ḥāyâ אַתָּ֥ה and thou ʾattâ וּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃ and thine house: bayit

וְאִ֣ם But if ʾim לֹֽא thou wilt not lōʾ תֵצֵ֗א go forth yāṣāʾ אֶל to ʾēl שָׂרֵי֙ princes, śar מֶ֣לֶךְ the king melek בָּבֶ֔ל of Babylon's bābel וְנִתְּנָ֞ה be given nātan הָעִ֤יר city ʿîr הַזֹּאת֙ then shall this zōt בְּיַ֣ד into the hand yād הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים of the Chaldeans, kaśdî וּשְׂרָפ֖וּהָ and they shall burn śārap בָּאֵ֑שׁ it with fire, ʾēš וְאַתָּ֖ה and thou ʾattâ לֹֽא shalt not lōʾ תִמָּלֵ֥ט escape out mālaṭ מִיָּדָֽם׃ of their hand. yād

וַיֹּ֛אמֶר said ʾāmar הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ the king melek צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ And Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ אֲנִ֧י I ʾănî דֹאֵ֣ג am afraid of dāʾag אֶת ʾēt הַיְּהוּדִ֗ים the Jews yĕhûdî אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ʾăšer נָֽפְלוּ֙ are fallen nāpal אֶל to ʾēl הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים the Chaldeans, kaśdî פֶּֽן lest pēn יִתְּנ֥וּ they deliver nātan אֹתִ֛י ʾēt בְּיָדָ֖ם me into their hand, yād וְהִתְעַלְּלוּ and they mock me. ʿālal בִֽי׃

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said, ʾāmar יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ But Jeremiah yirmĕyâ לֹ֣א They shall not lōʾ יִתֵּ֑נוּ deliver nātan שְֽׁמַֽע Obey, šāmaʿ נָ֣א׀ I beseech thee, nāʾ בְּק֣וֹל the voice qôl יְהוָ֗ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ לַאֲשֶׁ֤ר which ʾăšer אֲנִי֙ I ʾănî דֹּבֵ֣ר speak dābar אֵלֶ֔יךָ unto ʾēl וְיִ֥יטַב thee: so it shall be well yāṭab לְךָ֖ וּתְחִ֥י shall live. ḥāyâ נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ unto thee, and thy soul nepeš

וְאִם But if ʾim מָאֵ֥ן refuse māʾēn אַתָּ֖ה thou ʾattâ לָצֵ֑את to go forth, yāṣāʾ זֶ֣ה this ze הַדָּבָ֔ר the word dābār אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer הִרְאַ֖נִי hath shewed me: rāʾâ יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord yĕhōwâ

וְהִנֵּ֣ה And, behold, hinnē כָל all kōl הַנָּשִׁ֗ים the women ʾiššâ אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ʾăšer נִשְׁאֲרוּ֙ are left šāʾar בְּבֵ֣ית house bayit מֶֽלֶךְ in the king melek יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah's yĕhûdâ מוּצָא֕וֹת brought forth yāṣāʾ אֶל to ʾēl שָׂרֵ֖י princes, śar מֶ֣לֶךְ the king melek בָּבֶ֑ל of Babylon's bābel וְהֵ֣נָּה and those hēnnâ אֹמְרֹ֗ת shall say, ʾāmar הִסִּית֜וּךָ have set on, sût וְיָכְל֤וּ thee and have prevailed yākōl לְךָ֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י Thy friends ʾîš שְׁלֹמֶ֔ךָ šālôm הָטְבְּע֥וּ are sunk ṭābaʿ בַבֹּ֛ץ in the mire, bōṣ רַגְלֶ֖ךָ against thee: thy feet regel נָסֹ֥גוּ they are turned away sûg אָחֽוֹר׃ back. ʾāḥôr

וְאֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl נָשֶׁ֣יךָ thy wives ʾiššâ וְאֶת ʾēt בָּנֶ֗יךָ and thy children bēn מֽוֹצִאִים֙ So they shall bring out yāṣāʾ אֶל to ʾēl הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים the Chaldeans: kaśdî וְאַתָּ֖ה and thou ʾattâ לֹא shalt not lōʾ תִמָּלֵ֣ט escape out mālaṭ מִיָּדָ֑ם of their hand, yād כִּ֣י but kî בְיַ֤ד by the hand yād מֶֽלֶךְ of the king melek בָּבֶל֙ of Babylon: bābel תִּתָּפֵ֔שׂ shalt be taken tāpaś וְאֶת ʾēt הָעִ֥יר city ʿîr הַזֹּ֖את and thou shalt cause this zōt תִּשְׂרֹ֥ף to be burned śārap בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ with fire. ʾēš

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר Then said ʾāmar צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ אִ֛ישׁ man ʾîš אַל Let no ʾal יֵדַ֥ע know yādaʿ בַּדְּבָֽרִים words, dābār הָאֵ֖לֶּה of these ʾēlle וְלֹ֥א and thou shalt not lōʾ תָמֽוּת׃ die. mût

וְכִֽי But if kî יִשְׁמְע֣וּ hear šāmaʿ הַשָּׂרִים֮ the princes śar כִּֽי that kî דִבַּ֣רְתִּי I have talked dābar אִתָּךְ֒ with ʾēt וּבָ֣אוּ thee, and they come bôʾ אֵלֶ֣יךָ unto ʾēl וְֽאָמְר֪וּ thee, and say ʾāmar אֵלֶ֟יךָ unto ʾēl הַגִּֽידָה thee, Declare nāgad נָּ֨א unto us now nāʾ לָ֜נוּ מַה what mâ דִּבַּ֧רְתָּ thou hast said dābar אֶל unto ʾēl הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king, melek אַל it not ʾal תְּכַחֵ֥ד hide kāḥad מִמֶּ֖נּוּ from min וְלֹ֣א us, and we will not lōʾ נְמִיתֶ֑ךָ put thee to death; mût וּמַה also what mâ דִּבֶּ֥ר said dābar אֵלֶ֖יךָ unto thee: ʾēl הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king melek

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ Then thou shalt say ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם unto ʾēl מַפִּיל presented nāpal אֲנִ֥י them, I ʾănî תְחִנָּתִ֖י my supplication tĕḥinnâ לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king, melek לְבִלְתִּ֧י that he would not biltî הֲשִׁיבֵ֛נִי cause me to return šûb בֵּ֥ית house, bayit יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן to Jonathan's yĕhônātān לָמ֥וּת to die there. mût שָֽׁם׃ šām

וַיָּבֹ֨אוּ Then came bôʾ כָל all kōl הַשָּׂרִ֤ים the princes śar אֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ וַיִּשְׁאֲל֣וּ and asked šāʾal אֹת֔וֹ ʾēt וַיַּגֵּ֤ד him: and he told nāgad לָהֶם֙ hēm כְּכָל them according to all kōl הַדְּבָרִ֣ים words dābār הָאֵ֔לֶּה these ʾēlle אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer צִוָּ֖ה had commanded. ṣāwâ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king melek וַיַּחֲרִ֣שׁוּ So they left off speaking ḥāraš מִמֶּ֔נּוּ with min כִּ֥י him; for kî לֹֽא was not lōʾ נִשְׁמַ֖ע perceived. šāmaʿ הַדָּבָֽר׃ the matter dābār

וַיֵּ֤שֶׁב abode yāšab יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ So Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בַּחֲצַ֣ר in the court ḥāṣēr הַמַּטָּרָ֔ה of the prison maṭṭārāʾ עַד until ʿad י֖וֹם the day yôm אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer נִלְכְּדָ֣ה was taken: lākad יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim וְהָיָ֕ה and he was hāyâ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר when ʾăšer נִלְכְּדָ֖ה was taken. lākad יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim
