દમસ્કના સૈન્યે તેને હાર આપી હતી, તેથી તેણે તેઓના દેવના બલિદાનો કર્યા, તેણે માન્યું કે જો એ દેવોએ અરામના રાજાઓને સહાય કરી તો આ બલિદાનો ચઢાવવાને લીધે એ દેવો મારી પણ મદદ કરશે.” પણ તેમ કરવાથી ઊલટું તેનું અને યહૂદીયાના લોકોનું મોટું નુકશાન થયું.
