וַיְהִ֥י came hāyâ דְבַר And the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י unto me, ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֗ם of man, ʾādām שִׂ֤ים set śûm פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ thy face pānîm אֶל against ʾēl גּוֹג֙ Gog, gôg אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ הַמָּג֔וֹג of Magog, māgôg נְשִׂ֕יא prince nāśîʾ רֹ֖אשׁ the chief rōš מֶ֣שֶׁךְ of Meshech mešek וְתֻבָ֑ל and Tubal, tûbal וְהִנָּבֵ֖א and prophesy nābāʾ עָלָֽיו׃ against him, ʿal

וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ And say, ʾāmar כֹּ֥ה Thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God; yĕhōwi הִנְנִ֤י Behold, hēn אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ I against ʾēl גּ֔וֹג thee, O Gog, gôg נְשִׂ֕יא prince nāśîʾ רֹ֖אשׁ the chief rōš מֶ֥שֶׁךְ of Meshech mešek וְתֻבָֽל׃ and Tubal: tûbal

וְשׁ֣וֹבַבְתִּ֔יךָ And I will turn thee back, šûb וְנָתַתִּ֥י and put nātan חַחִ֖ים hooks ḥāḥ בִּלְחָיֶ֑יךָ into thy jaws, lĕḥî וְהוֹצֵאתִי֩ and I will bring thee forth, yāṣāʾ אוֹתְךָ֙ ʾēt וְאֶת ʾēt כָּל and all kōl חֵילֶ֜ךָ thine army, ḥayil סוּסִ֣ים horses sûs וּפָרָשִׁ֗ים and horsemen, pāroš לְבֻשֵׁ֤י of them clothed lābaš מִכְלוֹל֙ with all sorts miklôl כֻּלָּ֔ם all kōl קָהָ֥ל company qāhāl רָב֙ a great rab צִנָּ֣ה bucklers ṣinnâ וּמָגֵ֔ן and shields, māgēn תֹּפְשֵׂ֥י of them handling tāpaś חֲרָב֖וֹת swords: ḥereb כֻּלָּֽם׃ all kōl

פָּרַ֛ס Persia, pāras כּ֥וּשׁ Ethiopia, kûš וּפ֖וּט and Libya pûṭ אִתָּ֑ם with ʾēt כֻּלָּ֖ם them; all kōl מָגֵ֥ן of them with shield māgēn וְכוֹבָֽע׃ and helmet: kôbaʿ

גֹּ֚מֶר Gomer, gōmer וְכָל and all kōl אֲגַפֶּ֔יהָ his bands; ʾaggāp בֵּ֚ית the house bayit תּֽוֹגַרְמָ֔ה of Togarmah tôgarmâ יַרְכְּתֵ֥י quarters, yĕrēkâ צָפ֖וֹן of the north ṣāpôn וְאֶת ʾēt כָּל and all kōl אֲגַפָּ֑יו his bands: ʾaggāp עַמִּ֥ים people ʿam רַבִּ֖ים many rab אִתָּֽךְ׃ with thee. ʾēt

הִכֹּן֙ Be thou prepared, kûn וְהָכֵ֣ן and prepare kûn לְךָ֔ אַתָּ֕ה for thyself, thou, ʾattâ וְכָל and all kōl קְהָלֶ֖ךָ thy company qāhāl הַנִּקְהָלִ֣ים that are assembled qāhal עָלֶ֑יךָ unto ʿal וְהָיִ֥יתָ thee, and be hāyâ לָהֶ֖ם לְמִשְׁמָֽר׃ thou a guard unto them. mišmār

מִיָּמִ֣ים days yôm רַבִּים֮ After many rab תִּפָּקֵד֒ thou shalt be visited: pāqad בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית in the latter ʾaḥărît הַשָּׁנִ֜ים years šāne תָּב֣וֹא׀ thou shalt come bôʾ אֶל into ʾēl אֶ֣רֶץ׀ the land ʾereṣ מְשׁוֹבֶ֣בֶת brought back šûb מֵחֶ֗רֶב from the sword, ḥereb מְקֻבֶּ֙צֶת֙ gathered qābaṣ מֵעַמִּ֣ים people, ʿam רַבִּ֔ים out of many rab עַ֚ל against ʿal הָרֵ֣י the mountains har יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer הָי֥וּ have been hāyâ לְחָרְבָּ֖ה waste: ḥorbâ תָּמִ֑יד always tāmîd וְהִיא֙ but it hûʾ מֵעַמִּ֣ים out of the nations, ʿam הוּצָ֔אָה is brought forth yāṣāʾ וְיָשְׁב֥וּ and they shall dwell yāšab לָבֶ֖טַח safely beṭaḥ כֻּלָּֽם׃ all of them. kōl

וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ Thou shalt ascend ʿālâ כַּשֹּׁאָ֣ה like a storm, šôʾ תָב֔וֹא and come bôʾ כֶּעָנָ֛ן like a cloud ʿānān לְכַסּ֥וֹת to cover kāsâ הָאָ֖רֶץ the land, ʾereṣ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה thou shalt be hāyâ אַתָּה֙ thou, ʾattâ וְכָל and all kōl אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ thy bands, ʾaggāp וְעַמִּ֥ים people ʿam רַבִּ֖ים and many rab אוֹתָֽךְ׃ with thee. ʾēt

כֹּ֥ה Thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God; yĕhōwâ וְהָיָ֣ה׀ It shall also come to pass, hāyâ בַּיּ֣וֹם time yôm הַה֗וּא at the same hûʾ יַעֲל֤וּ come ʿālâ דְבָרִים֙ shall things dābār עַל into ʿal לְבָבֶ֔ךָ thy mind, lēbāb וְחָשַׁבְתָּ֖ and thou shalt think ḥāšab מַחֲשֶׁ֥בֶת thought: maḥăšābâ רָעָֽה׃ an evil raʿ

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ And thou shalt say, ʾāmar אֶֽעֱלֶה֙ I will go up ʿālâ עַל to ʿal אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ פְּרָז֔וֹת of unwalled villages; pĕrāzâ אָבוֹא֙ I will go bôʾ הַשֹּׁ֣קְטִ֔ים to them that are at rest, šāqaṭ יֹשְׁבֵ֖י that dwell yāšab לָבֶ֑טַח safely, beṭaḥ כֻּלָּ֗ם all kōl יֹֽשְׁבִים֙ of them dwelling yāšab בְּאֵ֣ין without ʾayin חוֹמָ֔ה walls, ḥômâ וּבְרִ֥יחַ bars bĕrîaḥ וּדְלָתַ֖יִם nor gates, delet אֵ֥ין and having neither ʾayin לָהֶֽם׃

לִשְׁלֹ֥ל To take šālal שָׁלָ֖ל a spoil, šālāl וְלָבֹ֣ז and to take bāzaz בַּ֑ז a prey; baz לְהָשִׁ֨יב to turn šûb יָדְךָ֜ thine hand yād עַל upon ʿal חֳרָב֣וֹת the desolate places ḥorbâ נוֹשָׁב֗וֹת inhabited, yāšab וְאֶל and upon ʾēl עַם֙ the people ʿam מְאֻסָּ֣ף gathered ʾāsap מִגּוֹיִ֔ם out of the nations, gôy עֹשֶׂה֙ which have gotten ʿāśâ מִקְנֶ֣ה cattle miqne וְקִנְיָ֔ן and goods, qinyān יֹשְׁבֵ֖י that dwell yāšab עַל in ʿal טַבּ֥וּר the midst ṭabbûr הָאָֽרֶץ׃ of the land. ʾereṣ

שְׁבָ֡א Sheba, šĕbāʾ וּ֠דְדָן and Dedan, dĕdān וְסֹחֲרֵ֨י and the merchants sāḥar תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ of Tarshish, taršîš וְכָל with all kōl כְּפִירֶ֙יהָ֙ the young lions kĕpîr יֹאמְר֣וּ thereof, shall say ʾāmar לְךָ֔ הֲלִשְׁלֹ֤ל to take šālal שָׁלָל֙ a spoil? šālāl אַתָּ֣ה unto thee, Art thou ʾattâ בָ֔א come bôʾ הֲלָבֹ֥ז to take bāzaz בַּ֖ז a prey? baz הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ hast thou gathered qāhal קְהָלֶ֑ךָ thy company qāhāl לָשֵׂ֣את׀ to carry away nāśāʾ כֶּ֣סֶף silver kesep וְזָהָ֗ב and gold, zāhāb לָקַ֙חַת֙ to take away lāqaḥ מִקְנֶ֣ה cattle miqne וְקִנְיָ֔ן and goods, qinyān לִשְׁלֹ֖ל to take šālal שָׁלָ֥ל spoil? šālāl גָּדֽוֹל׃ a great gādôl

לָכֵן֙ Therefore, kēn הִנָּבֵ֣א prophesy nābāʾ בֶן son bēn אָדָ֔ם of man, ʾādām וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ and say ʾāmar לְג֔וֹג unto Gog, gôg כֹּ֥ה Thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God; yĕhōwi הֲל֣וֹא׀ shalt thou not lōʾ בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֗וּא In that hûʾ בְּשֶׁ֨בֶת dwelleth yāšab עַמִּ֧י when my people ʿam יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl לָבֶ֖טַח safely, beṭaḥ תֵּדָֽע׃ know yādaʿ

וּבָ֤אתָ And thou shalt come bôʾ מִמְּקֽוֹמְךָ֙ from thy place māqôm מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י parts, yĕrēkâ צָפ֔וֹן out of the north ṣāpôn אַתָּ֕ה thou, ʾattâ וְעַמִּ֥ים people ʿam רַבִּ֖ים and many rab אִתָּ֑ךְ with ʾēt רֹכְבֵ֤י of them riding rākab סוּסִים֙ upon horses, sûs כֻּלָּ֔ם thee, all kōl קָהָ֥ל company, qāhāl גָּד֖וֹל a great gādôl וְחַ֥יִל army: ḥayil רָֽב׃ and a mighty rab

וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ And thou shalt come up ʿālâ עַל against ʿal עַמִּ֣י my people ʿam יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl כֶּֽעָנָ֖ן as a cloud ʿānān לְכַסּ֣וֹת to cover kāsâ הָאָ֑רֶץ the land; ʾereṣ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית in the latter ʾaḥărît הַיָּמִ֜ים days, yôm תִּֽהְיֶ֗ה it shall be hāyâ וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֙יךָ֙ and I will bring bôʾ עַל thee against ʿal אַרְצִ֔י my land, ʾereṣ לְמַעַן֩ that maʿan דַּ֨עַת may know yādaʿ הַגּוֹיִ֜ם the heathen gôy אֹתִ֗י ʾēt בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י me, when I shall be sanctified qādaš בְךָ֛ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם before their eyes. ʿayin גּֽוֹג׃ in thee, O Gog, gôg

כֹּֽה Thus kō אָמַ֞ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֗ה God; yĕhōwi הַֽאַתָּה thou ʾattâ ה֨וּא he hûʾ אֲשֶׁר of whom ʾăšer דִּבַּ֜רְתִּי I have spoken dābar בְּיָמִ֣ים time yôm קַדְמוֹנִ֗ים in old qadmônî בְּיַד֙ by yād עֲבָדַי֙ my servants ʿebed נְבִיאֵ֣י the prophets nābîʾ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl הַֽנִּבְּאִ֛ים which prophesied nābāʾ בַּיָּמִ֥ים days yôm הָהֵ֖ם in those hēm שָׁנִ֑ים years šāne לְהָבִ֥יא that I would bring bôʾ אֹתְךָ֖ ʾēt עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ thee against them? ʿal

וְהָיָ֣ה׀ And it shall come to pass hāyâ בַּיּ֣וֹם time yôm הַה֗וּא at the same hûʾ בְּי֨וֹם when yôm בּ֥וֹא shall come bôʾ גוֹג֙ Gog gôg עַל against ʿal אַדְמַ֣ת the land ʾădāmâ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl נְאֻ֖ם saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God, yĕhōwi תַּעֲלֶ֥ה shall come up ʿālâ חֲמָתִ֖י my fury ḥēmâ בְּאַפִּֽי׃ in my face. ʾap

וּבְקִנְאָתִ֥י For in my jealousy qinʾâ בְאֵשׁ in the fire ʾēš עֶבְרָתִ֖י of my wrath ʿebrâ דִּבַּ֑רְתִּי have I spoken, dābar אִם Surely ʾim לֹ֣א׀ lōʾ בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֗וּא in that hûʾ יִֽהְיֶה֙ there shall be hāyâ רַ֣עַשׁ shaking raʿaš גָּד֔וֹל a great gādôl עַ֖ל in ʿal אַדְמַ֥ת the land ʾădāmâ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel; yiśrāʾēl

וְרָעֲשׁ֣וּ shall shake rāʿaš מִפָּנַ֡י the face pānîm דְּגֵ֣י So that the fishes dāg הַיָּם֩ of the sea, yām וְע֨וֹף and the fowls ʿôp הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם of the heaven, šāmayim וְחַיַּ֣ת and the beasts ḥay הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה of the field, śāde וְכָל and all kōl הָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ creeping things remeś הָרֹמֵ֣שׂ that creep rāmaś עַל upon ʿal הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה the earth, ʾădāmâ וְכֹל֙ and all kōl הָֽאָדָ֔ם the men ʾādām אֲשֶׁ֖ר that ʾăšer עַל upon ʿal פְּנֵ֣י at my presence, pānîm הָאֲדָמָ֑ה of the earth, ʾădāmâ וְנֶהֶרְס֣וּ shall be thrown down, hāras הֶהָרִ֗ים and the mountains har וְנָֽפְלוּ֙ shall fall, nāpal הַמַּדְרֵג֔וֹת and the steep places madrēgâ וְכָל and every kōl חוֹמָ֖ה wall ḥômâ לָאָ֥רֶץ to the ground. ʾereṣ תִּפּֽוֹל׃ shall fall nāpal

וְקָרָ֨אתִי And I will call for qārāʾ עָלָ֤יו against ʿal לְכָל him throughout all kōl הָרַי֙ my mountains, har חֶ֔רֶב a sword ḥereb נְאֻ֖ם saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God: yĕhōwi חֶ֥רֶב sword ḥereb אִ֖ישׁ every man's ʾîš בְּאָחִ֥יו against his brother. ʾāḥ תִּֽהְיֶֽה׃ shall be hāyâ

וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֥י And I will plead against šāpaṭ אִתּ֖וֹ him ʾēt בְּדֶ֣בֶר with pestilence deber וּבְדָ֑ם and with blood; dām וְגֶ֣שֶׁם rain, gešem שׁוֹטֵף֩ him, an overflowing šāṭap וְאַבְנֵ֨י ʾeben אֶלְגָּבִ֜ישׁ and great hailstones, ʾelgābîš אֵ֣שׁ fire, ʾēš וְגָפְרִ֗ית and brimstone. goprît אַמְטִ֤יר and I will rain māṭar עָלָיו֙ upon ʿal וְעַל him, and upon ʿal אֲגַפָּ֔יו his bands, ʾaggāp וְעַל and upon ʿal עַמִּ֥ים people ʿam רַבִּ֖ים the many rab אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer אִתּֽוֹ׃ with ʾēt

וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי֙ Thus will I magnify myself, gādal וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּ֔י and sanctify myself; qādaš וְנ֣וֹדַעְתִּ֔י and I will be known yādaʿ לְעֵינֵ֖י in the eyes ʿayin גּוֹיִ֣ם nations, gôy רַבִּ֑ים of many rab וְיָדְע֖וּ and they shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
