בַּשָּׁנָה֙ year, šāne הָעֲשִׂירִ֔ית In the tenth ʿăśîrî בָּעֲשִׂרִ֕י in the tenth ʿăśîrî בִּשְׁנֵ֥ים in the twelfth šĕnayim עָשָׂ֖ר ʿāśār לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ of the month, ḥōdeš הָיָ֥ה came hāyâ דְבַר the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י unto ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֕ם of man, ʾādām שִׂ֣ים set śûm פָּנֶ֔יךָ thy face pānîm עַל against ʿal פַּרְעֹ֖ה Pharaoh parʿō מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim וְהִנָּבֵ֣א and prophesy nābāʾ עָלָ֔יו against ʿal וְעַל him, and against ʿal מִצְרַ֖יִם Egypt: miṣrayim כֻּלָּֽהּ׃ all kōl

דַּבֵּ֨ר Speak, dābar וְאָמַרְתָּ֜ and say, ʾāmar כֹּֽה Thus kō אָמַ֣ר׀ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֗ה God; yĕhōwi הִנְנִ֤י Behold, hēn עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ I against ʿal פַּרְעֹ֣ה thee, Pharaoh parʿō מֶֽלֶךְ king melek מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim הַתַּנִּים֙ dragon tannîn הַגָּד֔וֹל the great gādôl הָרֹבֵ֖ץ that lieth rābaṣ בְּת֣וֹךְ in the midst tāwek יְאֹרָ֑יו of his rivers, yĕʾōr אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer אָמַ֛ר hath said, ʾāmar לִ֥י יְאֹרִ֖י My river yĕʾōr וַאֲנִ֥י mine own, and I ʾănî עֲשִׂיתִֽנִי׃ have made for myself. ʿāśâ

וְנָתַתִּ֤י But I will put nātan חַחִיים֙ hooks ḥāḥ בִּלְחָיֶ֔יךָ in thy jaws, lĕḥî וְהִדְבַּקְתִּ֥י to stick dābaq דְגַת and I will cause the fish dāgâ יְאֹרֶ֖יךָ of thy rivers yĕʾōr בְּקַשְׂקְשֹׂתֶ֑יךָ unto thy scales, qaśqeśet וְהַעֲלִיתִ֙יךָ֙ and I will bring thee up ʿālâ מִתּ֣וֹךְ out of the midst tāwek יְאֹרֶ֔יךָ of thy rivers, yĕʾōr וְאֵת֙ ʾēt כָּל and all kōl דְּגַ֣ת the fish dāgâ יְאֹרֶ֔יךָ of thy rivers yĕʾōr בְּקַשְׂקְשֹׂתֶ֖יךָ unto thy scales. qaśqeśet תִּדְבָּֽק׃ shall stick dābaq

וּנְטַשְׁתִּ֣יךָ And I will leave nāṭaš הַמִּדְבָּ֗רָה thee into the wilderness, midbār אוֹתְךָ֙ ʾēt וְאֵת֙ ʾēt כָּל thee and all kōl דְּגַ֣ת the fish dāgâ יְאֹרֶ֔יךָ of thy rivers: yĕʾōr עַל upon ʿal פְּנֵ֤י the open pānîm הַשָּׂדֶה֙ fields; śāde תִּפּ֔וֹל thou shalt fall nāpal לֹ֥א thou shalt not lōʾ תֵאָסֵ֖ף be brought together, ʾāsap וְלֹ֣א nor lōʾ תִקָּבֵ֑ץ gathered: qābaṣ לְחַיַּ֥ת to the beasts ḥay הָאָ֛רֶץ of the field ʾereṣ וּלְע֥וֹף and to the fowls ʿôp הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם of the heaven. šāmayim נְתַתִּ֥יךָ I have given nātan לְאָכְלָֽה׃ thee for meat ʾoklâ

וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ shall know yādaʿ כָּל And all kōl יֹשְׁבֵ֣י the inhabitants yāšab מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt miṣrayim כִּ֖י that kî אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ יַ֧עַן because yaʿan הֱיוֹתָ֛ם they have been hāyâ מִשְׁעֶ֥נֶת a staff mišʿēnâ קָנֶ֖ה of reed qāne לְבֵ֥ית to the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

בְּתָפְשָׂ֨ם When they took hold tāpaś בְּךָ֤ בַכַּפ֙ף of thee by thy hand, kap תֵּר֔וֹץ thou didst break, rāṣaṣ וּבָקַעְתָּ֥ and rend bāqaʿ לָהֶ֖ם כָּל all kōl כָּתֵ֑ף their shoulder: kātēp וּבְהִֽשָּׁעֲנָ֤ם and when they leaned šāʿan עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ upon ʿal תִּשָּׁבֵ֔ר thee, thou brakest, šābar וְהַעֲמַדְתָּ֥ to be at a stand. ʿāmad לָהֶ֖ם כָּל and madest all kōl מָתְנָֽיִם׃ their loins mōten

לָכֵ֗ן Therefore kēn כֹּ֤ה thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi הִנְנִ֛י Behold, hēn מֵבִ֥יא I will bring bôʾ עָלַ֖יִךְ upon ʿal חָ֑רֶב a sword ḥereb וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י thee, and cut off kārat מִמֵּ֖ךְ out of thee. min אָדָ֥ם man ʾādām וּבְהֵמָֽה׃ and beast bĕhēmâ

וְהָיְתָ֤ה shall be hāyâ אֶֽרֶץ And the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ of Egypt miṣrayim לִשְׁמָמָ֣ה desolate šĕmāmâ וְחָרְבָּ֔ה and waste; ḥorbâ וְיָדְע֖וּ and they shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ יַ֧עַן because yaʿan אָמַ֛ר he hath said, ʾāmar יְאֹ֥ר The river yĕʾōr לִ֖י וַאֲנִ֥י mine, and I ʾănî עָשִֽׂיתִי׃ have made ʿāśâ

לָכֵ֛ן therefore kēn הִנְנִ֥י Behold, hēn אֵלֶ֖יךָ I against ʾēl וְאֶל thee, and against ʾēl יְאֹרֶ֑יךָ thy rivers, yĕʾōr וְנָתַתִּ֞י and I will make nātan אֶת ʾēt אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֗יִם of Egypt miṣrayim לְחָרְבוֹת֙ waste ḥorbâ חֹ֣רֶב utterly ḥōreb שְׁמָמָ֔ה desolate, šĕmāmâ מִמִּגְדֹּ֥ל from the tower migdôl סְוֵנֵ֖ה of Syene sĕwēnē וְעַד even unto ʿad גְּב֥וּל the border gĕbûl כּֽוּשׁ׃ of Ethiopia. kûš

לֹ֤א No lōʾ תַעֲבָר shall pass through ʿābar בָּהּ֙ רֶ֣גֶל foot regel אָדָ֔ם of man ʾādām וְרֶ֥גֶל foot regel בְּהֵמָ֖ה of beast bĕhēmâ לֹ֣א it, nor lōʾ תַעֲבָר shall pass through ʿābar בָּ֑הּ וְלֹ֥א it, neither lōʾ תֵשֵׁ֖ב shall it be inhabited yāšab אַרְבָּעִ֥ים forty ʾarbāʿîm שָׁנָֽה׃ years. šāne

וְנָתַתִּ֣י And I will make nātan אֶת ʾēt אֶרֶץ֩ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֨יִם of Egypt miṣrayim שְׁמָמָ֜ה desolate šĕmāmâ בְּת֣וֹךְ׀ in the midst tāwek אֲרָצ֣וֹת of the countries ʾereṣ נְשַׁמּ֗וֹת desolate, šāmēm וְעָרֶ֙יהָ֙ and her cities ʿîr בְּת֨וֹךְ among tāwek עָרִ֤ים the cities ʿîr מָֽחֳרָבוֹת֙ laid waste ḥārab תִּֽהְיֶ֣יןָ shall be hāyâ שְׁמָמָ֔ה desolate šĕmāmâ אַרְבָּעִ֖ים forty ʾarbāʿîm שָׁנָ֑ה years: šāne וַהֲפִצֹתִ֤י and I will scatter pûṣ אֶת ʾēt מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ the Egyptians miṣrayim בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם among the nations, gôy וְֽזֵרִיתִ֖ים and will disperse zārâ בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ them through the countries. ʾereṣ

כִּ֛י Yet kî כֹּ֥ה thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God; yĕhōwi מִקֵּ֞ץ At the end qēṣ אַרְבָּעִ֤ים of forty ʾarbāʿîm שָׁנָה֙ years šāne אֲקַבֵּ֣ץ will I gather qābaṣ אֶת ʾēt מִצְרַ֔יִם the Egyptians miṣrayim מִן from min הָעַמִּ֖ים the people ʿam אֲשֶׁר whither ʾăšer נָפֹ֥צוּ they were scattered: pûṣ שָֽׁמָּה׃ šām

וְשַׁבְתִּי֙ And I will bring again šûb אֶת ʾēt שְׁב֣וּת the captivity šĕbût מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֤י and will cause them to return šûb אֹתָם֙ ʾēt אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ פַּתְר֔וֹס of Pathros, patrôs עַל into ʿal אֶ֖רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מְכֽוּרָתָ֑ם of their habitation; mĕkûrâ וְהָ֥יוּ and they shall be hāyâ שָׁ֖ם there šām מַמְלָכָ֥ה kingdom. mamlākâ שְׁפָלָֽה׃ a base šāpāl

מִן of min הַמַּמְלָכוֹת֙ the kingdoms; mamlākâ תִּהְיֶ֣ה It shall be hāyâ שְׁפָלָ֔ה the basest šāpāl וְלֹֽא neither lōʾ תִתְנַשֵּׂ֥א shall it exalt itself nāśāʾ ע֖וֹד any more ʿôd עַל above ʿal הַגּוֹיִ֑ם the nations: gôy וְהִ֨מְעַטְתִּ֔ים for I will diminish māʿaṭ לְבִלְתִּ֖י them, that they shall no more biltî רְד֥וֹת rule rādâ בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ over the nations. gôy

וְלֹ֣א no lōʾ יִֽהְיֶה And it shall be hāyâ עוֹד֩ more ʿôd לְבֵ֨ית of the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl לְמִבְטָח֙ the confidence mibṭāḥ מַזְכִּ֣יר which bringeth zākar עָוֹ֔ן iniquity ʿāwōn בִּפְנוֹתָ֖ם to remembrance, when they shall look pānâ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם after ʾaḥar וְיָ֣דְע֔וּ them: but they shall know yādaʿ כִּ֥י that kî אֲנִ֖י I ʾănî אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֽה׃ God. yĕhōwâ

וַיְהִ֗י And it came to pass hāyâ בְּעֶשְׂרִ֤ים and twentieth ʿeśrîm וָשֶׁ֙בַע֙ in the seven šebaʿ שָׁנָ֔ה year, šāne בָּֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן in the first riʾšôn בְּאֶחָ֣ד in the first ʾeḥād לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ of the month, ḥōdeš הָיָ֥ה came hāyâ דְבַר the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י unto ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֗ם of man, ʾādām נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר Nebuchadrezzar nĕbûkadneʾṣṣar מֶֽלֶךְ king melek בָּ֠בֶל of Babylon bābel הֶעֱבִ֨יד to serve ʿābad אֶת caused ʾēt חֵיל֜וֹ his army ḥayil עֲבֹדָ֤ה service ʿăbōdâ גְדוֹלָה֙ a great gādôl אֶל against ʾēl צֹ֔ר Tyrus: ṣōr כָּל every kōl רֹ֣אשׁ head rōš מֻקְרָ֔ח made bald, qāraḥ וְכָל and every kōl כָּתֵ֖ף shoulder kātēp מְרוּטָ֑ה peeled: māraṭ וְ֠שָׂכָר wages, śākār לֹא he no lōʾ הָ֨יָה yet had hāyâ ל֤וֹ וּלְחֵילוֹ֙ nor his army, ḥayil מִצֹּ֔ר for Tyrus, ṣōr עַל for ʿal הָעֲבֹדָ֖ה the service ʿăbōdâ אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer עָבַ֥ד he had served ʿābad עָלֶֽיהָ׃ against it: ʿal

לָכֵ֗ן Therefore kēn כֹּ֤ה thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi הִנְנִ֥י Behold, hēn נֹתֵ֛ן I will give nātan לִנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר unto Nebuchadrezzar nĕbûkadneʾṣṣar מֶֽלֶךְ king melek בָּבֶ֖ל of Babylon; bābel אֶת ʾēt אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt miṣrayim וְנָשָׂ֨א and he shall take nāśāʾ הֲמֹנָ֜הּ her multitude, hāmôn וְשָׁלַ֤ל and take šālal שְׁלָלָהּ֙ her spoil, šālāl וּבָזַ֣ז and take bāzaz בִּזָּ֔הּ her prey; baz וְהָיְתָ֥ה and it shall be hāyâ שָׂכָ֖ר the wages śākār לְחֵילֽוֹ׃ for his army. ḥayil

פְּעֻלָּתוֹ֙ his labour pĕʿullâ אֲשֶׁר wherewith ʾăšer עָ֣בַד he served ʿābad בָּ֔הּ נָתַ֥תִּי I have given nātan ל֖וֹ אֶת him ʾēt אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt miṣrayim אֲשֶׁר֙ against it, because ʾăšer עָ֣שׂוּ they wrought ʿāśâ לִ֔י נְאֻ֖ם for me, saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֽה׃ God. yĕhōwi

בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֗וּא In that hûʾ אַצְמִ֤יחַ to bud forth, ṣāmaḥ קֶ֙רֶן֙ will I cause the horn qeren לְבֵ֣ית of the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl וּלְךָ֛ אֶתֵּ֥ן and I will give nātan פִּתְחֽוֹן thee the opening pitḥôn פֶּ֖ה of the mouth pe בְּתוֹכָ֑ם in the midst tāwek וְיָדְע֖וּ of them; and they shall know yādaʿ כִּי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
