וַתָּ֧בֹא entered bôʾ בִ֣י ר֗וּחַ And the spirit rûaḥ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ into me when ʾăšer דִּבֶּ֣ר he spake dābar אֵלַ֔י unto ʾēl וַתַּעֲמִדֵ֖נִי me, and set ʿāmad עַל me upon ʿal רַגְלָ֑י my feet, regel וָאֶשְׁמַ֕ע that I heard šāmaʿ אֵ֖ת ʾēt מִדַּבֵּ֥ר him that spake dābar אֵלָֽי׃ unto me. ʾēl

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר And he said ʾāmar אֵלַ֗י unto ʾēl בֶּן me, Son bēn אָדָם֙ of man, ʾādām שׁוֹלֵ֨חַ send šālaḥ אֲנִ֤י I ʾănî אֽוֹתְךָ֙ thee ʾēt אֶל to ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֶל to ʾēl גּוֹיִ֥ם nation gôy הַמּוֹרְדִ֖ים a rebellious mārad אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer מָרְדוּ hath rebelled mārad בִ֑י הֵ֤מָּה against me: they hēm וַאֲבוֹתָם֙ and their fathers ʾāb פָּ֣שְׁעוּ have transgressed pāšaʿ בִ֔י עַד against me, unto ʿad עֶ֖צֶם very ʿeṣem הַיּ֥וֹם day. yôm הַזֶּֽה׃ this ze

וְהַבָּנִ֗ים children bēn קְשֵׁ֤י For impudent qāše פָנִים֙ pānîm וְחִזְקֵי and stiffhearted. ḥāzāq לֵ֔ב lēb אֲנִ֛י I ʾănî שׁוֹלֵ֥חַ do send šālaḥ אוֹתְךָ֖ ʾēt אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם thee unto ʾēl וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ them; and thou shalt say ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם unto ʾēl כֹּ֥ה them, Thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֹֽה׃ God. yĕhōwi

וְהֵ֙מָּה֙ And they, hēm אִם whether ʾim יִשְׁמְע֣וּ they will hear, šāmaʿ וְאִם or whether ʾim יֶחְדָּ֔לוּ they will forbear, ḥādal כִּ֛י (for kî בֵּ֥ית house,) bayit מְרִ֖י a rebellious mĕrî הֵ֑מָּה they hēm וְיָ֣דְע֔וּ yet shall know yādaʿ כִּ֥י that kî נָבִ֖יא a prophet nābîʾ הָיָ֥ה there hath been hāyâ בְתוֹכָֽם׃ among them. tāwek

וְאַתָּ֣ה And thou, ʾattâ בֶן son bēn אָ֠דָם of man, ʾādām אַל ʾal תִּירָ֨א be not afraid yārēʾ מֵהֶ֜ם they hēm וּמִדִּבְרֵיהֶ֣ם of their words, dābār אַל of them, neither ʾal תִּירָ֗א be afraid yārēʾ כִּ֣י though kî סָרָבִ֤ים briers sārāb וְסַלּוֹנִים֙ and thorns sillôn אוֹתָ֔ךְ with ʾēt וְאֶל among ʾēl עַקְרַבִּ֖ים scorpions: ʿaqrāb אַתָּ֣ה thee, and thou ʾattâ יוֹשֵׁ֑ב dost dwell yāšab מִדִּבְרֵיהֶ֤ם of their words, dābār אַל ʾal תִּירָא֙ be not afraid yārēʾ וּמִפְּנֵיהֶ֣ם at their looks, pānîm אַל nor ʾal תֵּחָ֔ת be dismayed ḥātat כִּ֛י though kî בֵּ֥ית house. bayit מְרִ֖י a rebellious mĕrî הֵֽמָּה׃ hēm

וְדִבַּרְתָּ֤ And thou shalt speak dābar אֶת ʾēt דְּבָרַי֙ my words dābār אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם unto ʾēl אִֽם them, whether ʾim יִשְׁמְע֖וּ they will hear, šāmaʿ וְאִם or whether ʾim יֶחְדָּ֑לוּ they will forbear: ḥādal כִּ֥י for kî מְרִ֖י most rebellious. mĕrî הֵֽמָּה׃ they hēm

וְאַתָּ֣ה But thou, ʾattâ בֶן son bēn אָדָ֗ם of man, ʾādām שְׁמַע֙ hear šāmaʿ אֵ֤ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר what ʾăšer אֲנִי֙ I ʾănî מְדַבֵּ֣ר say dābar אֵלֶ֔יךָ unto ʾēl אַל ʾal תְּהִי thee; Be not hāyâ מֶ֖רִי thou rebellious mĕrî כְּבֵ֣ית house: bayit הַמֶּ֑רִי like that rebellious mĕrî פְּצֵ֣ה open pāṣâ פִ֔יךָ thy mouth, pe וֶאֱכֹ֕ל and eat ʾākal אֵ֥ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer אֲנִ֖י I ʾănî נֹתֵ֥ן give nātan אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ thee. ʾēl

וָאֶרְאֶ֕ה And when I looked, rāʾâ וְהִנֵּה behold, hinnē יָ֖ד an hand yād שְׁלוּחָ֣ה sent šālaḥ אֵלָ֑י unto ʾēl וְהִנֵּה me; and, lo, hinnē ב֖וֹ מְגִלַּת a roll mĕgillâ סֵֽפֶר׃ of a book therein; sēper
