அப்பொழுது ராஜசமுகத்தில் இருக்கிற பிரதானிகளில் அற்போனா என்னுமொருவன்: இதோ, ராஜாவின் நன்மைக்காகப் பேசின மொர்தெகாய்க்கு ஆமான் செய்வித்த ஐம்பது முழ உயரமான தூக்குமரம் ஆமானின் வீட்டண்டையில் நாட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்றான்; அப்பொழுது ராஜா: அதிலே அவனைத் தூக்கிப்போடுங்கள் என்றான்.

பிரதானிகளில் ஒருவனான அரசனுக்கு சேவைச் செய்பவனின் பெயர் அற்போனா. அவன் அரசனிடம், “ஆமானின் வீட்டின் அருகில் 75 அடி உயரத்தில் ஒரு தூக்குமரம் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதில் மொர்தெகாயைத் தூக்கிலிடவேண்டும் என்றே ஆமான் அதைக் கட்டினான். மொர்தெகாய் உமக்கு உதவிச் செய்த ஆள், உம்மை கொல்லத் திட்டமிட்டத் தீயர்வர்களைப்பற்றி உமக்குச் சொன்னவன்” என்றான். அரசன், “ஆமானை அதே மரத்தில் தூக்கில் போடுங்கள்” என்றான்.

அச்சமயம், மன்னருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்த அர்போனா என்ற அலுவலர் மன்னரை நோக்கி, “அதோ! ஆமானின் வீட்டெதிரே மன்னருக்கு நல்லது செய்த மொர்தக்காயைத் தூக்கிலிட ஆமான் நாட்டிய ஐம்பது முழத் தூக்குமரம்!” என்றார். அதற்கு மன்னர், “அதிலேயே அவனைத் தூக்கிலிடுங்கள்!” என்றார்.
