  1. וַנֵּ֣פֶן Then we turned, pānâ וַנַּ֔עַל and went up ʿālâ דֶּ֖רֶךְ the way derek הַבָּשָׁ֑ן to Bashan: bāšān וַיֵּצֵ֣א came out yāṣāʾ עוֹג֩ and Og ʿôg מֶֽלֶךְ the king melek הַבָּשָׁ֨ן of Bashan bāšān לִקְרָאתֵ֜נוּ against qirʾâ ה֧וּא us, he hûʾ וְכָל and all kōl עַמּ֛וֹ his people, ʿam לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה to battle milḥāmâ אֶדְרֶֽעִי׃ at Edrei. ʾedreʿî
  2. וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said ʾāmar יְהוָ֤ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַי֙ unto ʾēl אַל him not: ʾal תִּירָ֣א me, Fear yārēʾ אֹת֔וֹ ʾēt כִּ֣י for בְיָֽדְךָ֞ into thy hand; yād נָתַ֧תִּי I will deliver nātan אֹת֛וֹ ʾēt וְאֶת ʾēt כָּל him, and all kōl עַמּ֖וֹ his people, ʿam וְאֶת ʾēt אַרְצ֑וֹ and his land, ʾereṣ וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ and thou shalt do ʿāśâ לּ֔וֹ כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר unto him as ʾăšer עָשִׂ֗יתָ thou didst ʿāśâ לְסִיחֹן֙ unto Sihon sîḥôn מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י of the Amorites, ʾĕmōrî אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer יוֹשֵׁ֖ב dwelt yāšab בְּחֶשְׁבּֽוֹן׃ at Heshbon. ḥešbôn
  3. וַיִּתֵּן֩ delivered nātan יְהוָ֨ה So the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֜ינוּ our God ʾĕlōhîm בְּיָדֵ֗נוּ into our hands yād גַּ֛ם also, gam אֶת ʾēt ע֥וֹג Og ʿôg מֶֽלֶךְ the king melek הַבָּשָׁ֖ן of Bashan, bāšān וְאֶת ʾēt כָּל and all kōl עַמּ֑וֹ his people: ʿam וַנַּכֵּ֕הוּ and we smote nākâ עַד him until ʿad בִּלְתִּ֥י none biltî הִשְׁאִֽיר was left šāʾar ל֖וֹ שָׂרִֽיד׃ to him remaining. śārîd
  4. וַנִּלְכֹּ֤ד And we took lākad אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl עָרָיו֙ his cities ʿîr בָּעֵ֣ת time, ʿēt הַהִ֔וא at that hûʾ לֹ֤א not lōʾ הָֽיְתָה֙ there was hāyâ קִרְיָ֔ה a city qiryâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer לֹֽא not lōʾ לָקַ֖חְנוּ we took lāqaḥ מֵֽאִתָּ֑ם from ʾēt שִׁשִּׁ֥ים them, threescore šiššîm עִיר֙ cities, ʿîr כָּל all kōl חֶ֣בֶל the region ḥebel אַרְגֹּ֔ב of Argob, ʾargōb מַמְלֶ֥כֶת the kingdom mamlākâ ע֖וֹג of Og ʿôg בַּבָּשָֽׁן׃ in Bashan. bāšān
  5. כָּל All kōl אֵ֜לֶּה these ʾēlle עָרִ֧ים cities ʿîr בְּצֻרֹ֛ת fenced bāṣar חוֹמָ֥ה walls, ḥômâ גְבֹהָ֖ה with high gābōah דְּלָתַ֣יִם gates, delet וּבְרִ֑יחַ and bars; bĕrîaḥ לְבַ֛ד beside bad מֵֽעָרֵ֥י towns ʿîr הַפְּרָזִ֖י unwalled pĕrāzî הַרְבֵּ֥ה many. rābâ מְאֹֽד׃ a great mĕʾōd
  6. וַנַּֽחֲרֵ֣ם And we utterly destroyed ḥāram אוֹתָ֔ם ʾēt כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר them, as ʾăšer עָשִׂ֔ינוּ we did ʿāśâ לְסִיחֹ֖ן unto Sihon sîḥôn מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek חֶשְׁבּ֑וֹן of Heshbon, ḥešbôn הַֽחֲרֵם֙ utterly destroying ḥāram כָּל of every kōl עִ֣יר city. ʿîr מְתִ֔ם the men, mat הַנָּשִׁ֖ים women, ʾiššâ וְהַטָּֽף׃ and children, ṭap
  7. וְכָל But all kōl הַבְּהֵמָ֛ה the cattle, bĕhēmâ וּשְׁלַ֥ל and the spoil šālāl הֶֽעָרִ֖ים of the cities, ʿîr בַּזּ֥וֹנוּ we took for a prey to ourselves. bāzaz לָֽנוּ׃
  8. וַנִּקַּ֞ח And we took out lāqaḥ בָּעֵ֤ת time ʿēt הַהִוא֙ at that hûʾ אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֔רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מִיַּ֗ד of the hand yād שְׁנֵי֙ of the two šĕnayim מַלְכֵ֣י kings melek הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י of the Amorites ʾĕmōrî אֲשֶׁ֖ר that ʾăšer בְּעֵ֣בֶר on this side ʿēber הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן Jordan, yardēn מִנַּ֥חַל from the river naḥal אַרְנֹ֖ן of Arnon ʾarnôn עַד unto ʿad הַ֥ר mount har חֶרְמֽוֹן׃ Hermon; ḥermôn
  9. צִֽידֹנִ֛ים the Sidonians ṣîdōnî יִקְרְא֥וּ call qārāʾ לְחֶרְמ֖וֹן Hermon ḥermôn שִׂרְיֹ֑ן Sirion; širyôn וְהָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔י and the Amorites ʾĕmōrî יִקְרְאוּ call qārāʾ ל֖וֹ שְׂנִֽיר׃ it Shenir;) šĕnîr
  10. כֹּ֣ל׀ All kōl עָרֵ֣י the cities ʿîr הַמִּישֹׁ֗ר of the plain, mîšôr וְכָל and all kōl הַגִּלְעָד֙ Gilead, gilʿād וְכָל and all kōl הַבָּשָׁ֔ן Bashan, bāšān עַד unto ʿad סַלְכָ֖ה Salchah salkâ וְאֶדְרֶ֑עִי and Edrei, ʾedreʿî עָרֵ֛י cities ʿîr מַמְלֶ֥כֶת of the kingdom mamlākâ ע֖וֹג of Og ʿôg בַּבָּשָֽׁן׃ in Bashan. bāšān
  11. כִּ֣י For רַק only raq ע֞וֹג Og ʿôg מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek הַבָּשָׁ֗ן of Bashan bāšān נִשְׁאַר֮ remained šāʾar מִיֶּ֣תֶר of the remnant yeter הָֽרְפָאִים֒ of giants; rāpāʾ הִנֵּ֤ה behold, hinnē עַרְשׂוֹ֙ his bedstead ʿereś עֶ֣רֶשׂ a bedstead ʿereś בַּרְזֶ֔ל of iron; barzel הֲלֹ֣ה not lōʾ הִ֔וא it hûʾ בְּרַבַּ֖ת in Rabbath rabbâ בְּנֵ֣י of the children bēn עַמּ֑וֹן of Ammon? ʿammôn תֵּ֧שַׁע nine tēšaʿ אַמּ֣וֹת cubits ʾammâ אָרְכָּ֗הּ the length ʾōrek וְאַרְבַּ֥ע thereof, and four ʾarbaʿ אַמּ֛וֹת cubits ʾammâ רָחְבָּ֖הּ the breadth rōḥab בְּאַמַּת of it, after the cubit ʾammâ אִֽישׁ׃ of a man. ʾîš
  12. וְאֶת ʾēt הָאָ֧רֶץ land, ʾereṣ הַזֹּ֛את And this zōt יָרַ֖שְׁנוּ we possessed yāraš בָּעֵ֣ת time, ʿēt הַהִ֑וא at that hûʾ מֵֽעֲרֹעֵ֞ר from Aroer, ʿărôʿēr אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer עַל by ʿal נַ֣חַל the river naḥal אַרְנֹ֗ן Arnon, ʾarnôn וַֽחֲצִ֤י and half ḥēṣî הַֽר mount har הַגִּלְעָד֙ Gilead, gilʿād וְעָרָ֔יו and the cities ʿîr נָתַ֕תִּי thereof, gave nātan לָרֻֽאוּבֵנִ֖י I unto the Reubenites rĕʾûbēnî וְלַגָּדִֽי׃ and to the Gadites. gādî
  13. וְיֶ֨תֶר And the rest yeter הַגִּלְעָ֤ד of Gilead, gilʿād וְכָל and all kōl הַבָּשָׁן֙ Bashan, bāšān מַמְלֶ֣כֶת the kingdom mamlākâ ע֔וֹג of Og, ʿôg נָתַ֕תִּי gave nātan לַֽחֲצִ֖י I unto the half ḥēṣî שֵׁ֣בֶט tribe šēbeṭ הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה of Manasseh; mĕnašše כֹּ֣ל all kōl חֶ֤בֶל the region ḥebel הָֽאַרְגֹּב֙ of Argob, ʾargōb לְכָל with all kōl הַבָּשָׁ֔ן Bashan, bāšān הַה֥וּא which hûʾ יִקָּרֵ֖א was called qārāʾ אֶ֥רֶץ the land ʾereṣ רְפָאִֽים׃ of giants. rāpāʾ
  14. יָאִ֣יר Jair yāʾîr בֶּן the son bēn מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה of Manasseh mĕnašše לָקַח֙ took lāqaḥ אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl חֶ֣בֶל the country ḥebel אַרְגֹּ֔ב of Argob ʾargōb עַד unto ʿad גְּב֥וּל the coasts gĕbûl הַגְּשׁוּרִ֖י of Geshuri gĕšûrî וְהַמַּֽעֲכָתִ֑י and Maachathi; maʿăkātî וַיִּקְרָא֩ and called qārāʾ אֹתָ֨ם ʾēt עַל them after ʿal שְׁמ֤וֹ his own name, šēm אֶת ʾēt הַבָּשָׁן֙ Bashan-havoth-jair, bāšān חַוֹּ֣ת יָאִ֔יר ḥawwôt yāʿîr עַ֖ד unto ʿad הַיּ֥וֹם day. yôm הַזֶּֽה׃ this ze
  15. וּלְמָכִ֖יר unto Machir. mākîr נָתַ֥תִּי And I gave nātan אֶת ʾēt הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ Gilead gilʿād
  16. וְלָרֽאוּבֵנִ֨י And unto the Reubenites rĕʾûbēnî וְלַגָּדִ֜י and unto the Gadites gādî נָתַ֤תִּי I gave nātan מִן from min הַגִּלְעָד֙ Gilead gilʿād וְעַד even unto ʿad נַ֣חַל the river naḥal אַרְנֹ֔ן Arnon ʾarnôn תּ֥וֹךְ half tāwek הַנַּ֖חַל the valley, naḥal וּגְבֻ֑ל and the border gĕbûl וְעַד֙ even unto ʿad יַבֹּ֣ק Jabbok, yabbōq הַנַּ֔חַל the river naḥal גְּב֖וּל the border gĕbûl בְּנֵ֥י of the children bēn עַמּֽוֹן׃ of Ammon; ʿammôn
  17. וְהָֽעֲרָבָ֖ה The plain ʿărābâ וְהַיַּרְדֵּ֣ן also, and Jordan, yardēn וּגְבֻ֑ל and the coast gĕbûl מִכִּנֶּ֗רֶת from Chinnereth kinnĕrôt וְעַ֨ד even unto ʿad יָ֤ם the sea yām הָֽעֲרָבָה֙ of the plain, ʿărābâ יָ֣ם sea, yām הַמֶּ֔לַח the salt melaḥ תַּ֛חַת under taḥat אַשְׁדֹּ֥ת Ashdoth-pisgah ʾăšēdâ הַפִּסְגָּ֖ה pisgâ מִזְרָֽחָה׃ eastward. mizrāḥ
  18. וָֽאֲצַ֣ו And I commanded ṣāwâ אֶתְכֶ֔ם you ʾēt בָּעֵ֥ת time, ʿēt הַהִ֖וא you at that hûʾ לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar יְהוָ֣ה The Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם your God ʾĕlōhîm נָתַ֨ן hath given nātan לָכֶ֜ם אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֤רֶץ land ʾereṣ הַזֹּאת֙ this zōt לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ to possess yāraš חֲלוּצִ֣ים armed ḥālaṣ תַּֽעַבְר֗וּ it: ye shall pass over ʿābar לִפְנֵ֛י before pānîm אֲחֵיכֶ֥ם your brethren ʾāḥ בְּנֵֽי the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl כָּל all kōl בְּנֵי meet bēn חָֽיִל׃ for the war. ḥayil
  19. רַ֠ק But raq נְשֵׁיכֶ֣ם your wives, ʾiššâ וְטַפְּכֶם֮ and your little ones, ṭap וּמִקְנֵכֶם֒ and your cattle, miqne יָדַ֕עְתִּי I know yādaʿ כִּֽי that מִקְנֶ֥ה cattle,) miqne רַ֖ב ye have much rab לָכֶ֑ם יֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ shall abide yāšab בְּעָ֣רֵיכֶ֔ם in your cities ʿîr אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer נָתַ֖תִּי I have given you; nātan לָכֶֽם׃
  20. עַ֠ד Until ʿad אֲשֶׁר ʾăšer יָנִ֨יחַ have given rest nûaḥ יְהוָ֥ה׀ the Lord yĕhōwâ לַֽאֲחֵיכֶם֮ unto your brethren, ʾāḥ כָּכֶם֒ וְיָֽרְשׁ֣וּ possess yāraš גַם also gam הֵ֔ם as well as unto you, and they hēm אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֕רֶץ the land ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer יְהוָ֧ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֛ם your God ʾĕlōhîm נֹתֵ֥ן hath given nātan לָהֶ֖ם hēm בְּעֵ֣בֶר them beyond ʿēber הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן Jordan: yardēn וְשַׁבְתֶּ֗ם and shall ye return šûb אִ֚ישׁ every man ʾîš לִֽירֻשָּׁת֔וֹ unto his possession, yĕruššâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer נָתַ֖תִּי I have given you. nātan לָכֶֽם׃
  21. וְאֶת ʾēt יְהוֹשׁ֣וּעַ Joshua yĕhôšûaʿ צִוֵּ֔יתִי And I commanded ṣāwâ בָּעֵ֥ת time, ʿēt הַהִ֖וא at that hûʾ לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar עֵינֶ֣יךָ Thine eyes ʿayin הָֽרֹאֹ֗ת have seen rāʾâ אֵת֩ ʾēt כָּל all kōl אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer עָשָׂ֜ה hath done ʿāśâ יְהוָ֤ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ your God ʾĕlōhîm לִשְׁנֵי֙ two šĕnayim הַמְּלָכִ֣ים kings: melek הָאֵ֔לֶּה unto these ʾēlle כֵּֽן so kēn יַעֲשֶׂ֤ה do ʿāśâ יְהוָה֙ shall the Lord yĕhōwâ לְכָל unto all kōl הַמַּמְלָכ֔וֹת the kingdoms mamlākâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר whither ʾăšer אַתָּ֖ה thou ʾattâ עֹבֵ֥ר passest. ʿābar שָֽׁמָּה׃ šām
  22. לֹ֖א Ye shall not lōʾ תִּֽירָא֑וּם fear yārēʾ כִּ֚י them: for יְהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם your God ʾĕlōhîm ה֖וּא he hûʾ הַנִּלְחָ֥ם shall fight for you. lāḥam לָכֶֽם׃
  23. וָֽאֶתְחַנַּ֖ן And I besought ḥānan אֶל ʾēl יְהוָ֑ה the Lord yĕhōwâ בָּעֵ֥ת time, ʿēt הַהִ֖וא at that hûʾ לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar
  24. אֲדֹנָ֣י O Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֗ה God, yĕhōwi אַתָּ֤ה thou ʾattâ הַֽחִלּ֙וֹתָ֙ hast begun ḥālal לְהַרְא֣וֹת to shew rāʾâ אֶֽת ʾēt עַבְדְּךָ֔ thy servant ʿebed אֶ֨ת ʾēt גָּדְלְךָ֔ thy greatness, gōdel וְאֶת ʾēt יָֽדְךָ֖ hand: yād הַֽחֲזָקָ֑ה and thy mighty ḥāzāq אֲשֶׁ֤ר for ʾăšer מִי what אֵל֙ God ʾēl בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם in heaven šāmayim וּבָאָ֔רֶץ or in earth, ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer יַֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה can do ʿāśâ כְמַֽעֲשֶׂ֖יךָ according to thy works, maʿăśe וְכִגְבֽוּרֹתֶֽךָ׃ and according to thy might? gĕbûrâ
  25. אֶעְבְּרָה let me go over, ʿābar נָּ֗א I pray thee, nāʾ וְאֶרְאֶה֙ and see rāʾâ אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֣רֶץ land ʾereṣ הַטּוֹבָ֔ה the good ṭôb אֲשֶׁ֖ר that ʾăšer בְּעֵ֣בֶר beyond ʿēber הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן Jordan, yardēn הָהָ֥ר mountain, har הַטּ֛וֹב goodly ṭôb הַזֶּ֖ה that ze וְהַלְּבָנֹֽן׃ and Lebanon. lĕbānôn
  26. וַיִּתְעַבֵּ֨ר was wroth ʿābar יְהוָ֥ה But the Lord yĕhōwâ בִּי֙ לְמַ֣עַנְכֶ֔ם with me for your sakes, maʿan וְלֹ֥א and would not lōʾ שָׁמַ֖ע hear šāmaʿ אֵלָ֑י ʾēl וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said ʾāmar יְהוָ֤ה me: and the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַי֙ unto ʾēl רַב me, Let it suffice rab לָ֔ךְ אַל no ʾal תּ֗וֹסֶף more yāsap דַּבֵּ֥ר thee; speak dābar אֵלַ֛י unto ʾēl ע֖וֹד ʿôd בַּדָּבָ֥ר matter. dābār הַזֶּֽה׃ me of this ze
  27. עֲלֵ֣ה׀ Get thee up ʿālâ רֹ֣אשׁ into the top rōš הַפִּסְגָּ֗ה of Pisgah, pisgâ וְשָׂ֥א and lift up nāśāʾ עֵינֶ֛יךָ thine eyes ʿayin יָ֧מָּה westward, yām וְצָפֹ֛נָה and northward, ṣāpôn וְתֵימָ֥נָה and southward, têmān וּמִזְרָ֖חָה and eastward, mizrāḥ וּרְאֵ֣ה and behold rāʾâ בְעֵינֶ֑יךָ with thine eyes: ʿayin כִּי for לֹ֥א thou shalt not lōʾ תַֽעֲבֹ֖ר go over ʿābar אֶת ʾēt הַיַּרְדֵּ֥ן Jordan. yardēn הַזֶּֽה׃ this ze
  28. וְצַ֥ו But charge ṣāwâ אֶת ʾēt יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ Joshua, yĕhôšûaʿ וְחַזְּקֵ֣הוּ and encourage ḥāzaq וְאַמְּצֵ֑הוּ him, and strengthen ʾāmaṣ כִּי him: for ה֣וּא he hûʾ יַֽעֲבֹ֗ר shall go over ʿābar לִפְנֵי֙ before pānîm הָעָ֣ם people, ʿam הַזֶּ֔ה this ze וְהוּא֙ and he hûʾ יַנְחִ֣יל shall cause them to inherit nāḥal אוֹתָ֔ם ʾēt אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֖רֶץ the land ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer תִּרְאֶֽה׃ thou shalt see. rāʾâ
  29. וַנֵּ֣שֶׁב So we abode yāšab בַּגָּ֔יְא in the valley gayʾ מ֖וּל over against mûl בֵּ֥ית פְּעֽוֹר׃ Beth-peor. bêt pĕʿôr
