  1. בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֣ר Belshazzar bēlĕšaʾṣṣar מַלְכָּ֗א the king melek עֲבַד֙ made ʿăbad לְחֶ֣ם feast lĕḥem רַ֔ב a great rab לְרַבְרְבָנ֖וֹהִי of his lords, rabrĕbān אֲלַ֑ף to a thousand ʾălap וְלָקֳבֵ֥ל before qĕbēl אַלְפָּ֖א the thousand. ʾălap חַמְרָ֥א wine ḥămar שָׁתֵֽה׃ and drank šĕtâ
  2. בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֞ר Belshazzar, bēlĕšaʾṣṣar אֲמַ֣ר׀ commanded ʾămar בִּטְעֵ֣ם whiles he tasted ṭĕʿēm חַמְרָ֗א the wine, ḥămar לְהַיְתָיָה֙ to bring ʾātâ לְמָאנֵי֙ vessels mān דַּהֲבָ֣א the golden dĕhab וְכַסְפָּ֔א and silver kĕsap דִּ֤י which הַנְפֵּק֙ had taken out nĕpaq נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar אֲב֔וּהִי his father ʾab מִן of min הֵיכְלָ֖א the temple hêkal דִּ֣י which בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם in Jerusalem; yĕrûšālēm וְיִשְׁתּ֣וֹן might drink therein. šĕtâ בְּה֗וֹן מַלְכָּא֙ that the king, melek וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי and his princes, rabrĕbān שֵׁגְלָתֵ֖הּ his wives, šēgāl וּלְחֵנָתֵֽהּ׃ and his concubines, lĕḥēnâ
  3. בֵּאדַ֗יִן Then ʾĕdayin הַיְתִיו֙ they brought ʾātâ מָאנֵ֣י vessels mān דַהֲבָ֔א the golden dĕhab דִּ֣י that הַנְפִּ֗קוּ were taken out nĕpaq מִן of min הֵֽיכְלָ֛א the temple hêkal דִּֽי of בֵ֥ית the house bayit אֱלָהָ֖א of God ʾĕlāh דִּ֣י which בִירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם at Jerusalem; yĕrûšālēm וְאִשְׁתִּ֣יו drank in them. šĕtâ בְּה֗וֹן מַלְכָּא֙ and the king, melek וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי and his princes, rabrĕbān שֵׁגְלָתֵ֖הּ his wives, šēgāl וּלְחֵנָתֵֽהּ׃ and his concubines, lĕḥēnâ
  4. אִשְׁתִּ֖יו They drank šĕtâ חַמְרָ֑א wine, ḥămar וְ֠שַׁבַּחוּ and praised šĕbaḥ לֵֽאלָהֵ֞י the gods ʾĕlāh דַּהֲבָ֧א of gold, dĕhab וְכַסְפָּ֛א and of silver, kĕsap נְחָשָׁ֥א of brass, nĕḥoš פַרְזְלָ֖א of iron, parzel אָעָ֥א of wood, ʾāʿ וְאַבְנָֽא׃ and of stone. ʾeben
  5. בַּהּ שַׁעֲתָ֗ה In the same hour šāʿâ נְפַ֙קָו֙ came forth nĕpaq אֶצְבְּעָן֙ fingers ʾeṣbaʿ דִּ֣י of יַד hand, yad אֱנָ֔שׁ a man's ʾĕnoš וְכָֽתְבָן֙ and wrote kĕtab לָקֳבֵ֣ל over against qĕbēl נֶבְרַשְׁתָּ֔א the candlestick nebrĕšāʾ עַל upon ʿal גִּירָ֕א the plaister gîr דִּֽי of כְתַ֥ל the wall kĕtal הֵיכְלָ֖א palace: hêkal דִּ֣י of מַלְכָּ֑א the king's melek וּמַלְכָּ֣א and the king melek חָזֵ֔ה saw ḥăzāʾ פַּ֥ס the part pas יְדָ֖א of the hand yad דִּ֥י that כָתְבָֽה׃ wrote. kĕtab
  6. אֱדַ֤יִן Then ʾĕdayin מַלְכָּא֙ the king's melek זִיוֺ֣הִי countenance zîw שְׁנ֔וֹהִי was changed, šĕnāʾ וְרַעיֹנֹ֖הִי and his thoughts raʿyôn יְבַהֲלוּנֵּ֑הּ troubled bĕhal וְקִטְרֵ֤י him, so that the joints qĕṭar חַרְצֵהּ֙ of his loins ḥăraṣ מִשְׁתָּרַ֔יִן were loosed, šĕrēʾ וְאַ֨רְכֻבָּתֵ֔הּ and his knees ʾarkubâ דָּ֥א one dāʾ לְדָ֖א against another. dāʾ נָֽקְשָֽׁן׃ smote nĕqaš
  7. קָרֵ֤א cried qĕrāʾ מַלְכָּא֙ The king melek בְּחַ֔יִל aloud ḥayil לְהֶֽעָלָה֙ to bring in ʿălal לְאָ֣שְׁפַיָּ֔א the astrologers, ʾaššāp כַּשְׂדָּיֵ֖א the Chaldeans, kaśday וְגָזְרַיָּ֑א and the soothsayers. gĕzar עָנֵ֨ה spake, ʿănâ מַלְכָּ֜א the king melek וְאָמַ֣ר׀ and said ʾămar לְחַכִּימֵ֣י to the wise ḥakkîm בָבֶ֗ל of Babylon, babel דִּ֣י of כָל kōl אֱ֠נָשׁ Whosoever ʾĕnoš דִּֽי יִקְרֵ֞ה shall read qĕrāʾ כְּתָבָ֣ה writing, kĕtāb דְנָ֗ה this dēn וּפִשְׁרֵהּ֙ me the interpretation pĕšar יְחַוִּנַּ֔נִי and shew ḥăwāʾ אַרְגְּוָנָ֣א with scarlet, ʾargĕwān יִלְבַּ֗שׁ thereof, shall be clothed lĕbaš וְהַֽמְוִנכָ֤א and a chain hamnîk דִֽי דַהֲבָא֙ gold dĕhab עַֽל about ʿal צַוְּארֵ֔הּ his neck, ṣawwar וְתַלְתִּ֥י and shall be the third tĕlîtay בְמַלְכוּתָ֖א in the kingdom. malkû יִשְׁלַֽט׃ ruler šĕlēṭ
  8. אֱדַ֙יִן֙ Then ʾĕdayin עָֽלִּ֔לין came in ʿălal כֹּ֖ל all kōl חַכִּימֵ֣י wise ḥakkîm מַלְכָּ֑א the king's melek וְלָֽא not lāʾ כָהֲלִ֤ין but they could kĕhal כְּתָבָא֙ the writing, kĕtāb לְמִקְרֵ֔א read qĕrāʾ וּפִשְׁרֵ֖אּ the interpretation thereof. pĕšar לְהוֹדָעָ֥ה nor make known yĕdaʿ לְמַלְכָּֽא׃ to the king melek
  9. אֱ֠דַיִן Then ʾĕdayin מַלְכָּ֤א was king melek בֵלְשַׁאצַּר֙ Belshazzar bēlĕšaʾṣṣar שַׂגִּ֣יא greatly śaggîʾ מִתְבָּהַ֔ל troubled, bĕhal וְזִיוֺ֖הִי and his countenance zîw שָׁנַ֣יִן was changed šĕnāʾ עֲל֑וֹהִי in him, ʿal וְרַבְרְבָנ֖וֹהִי and his lords rabrĕbān מִֽשְׁתַּבְּשִֽׁין׃ were astonied. šĕbaš
  10. מַלְכְּתָ֕א the queen, malkāʾ לָקֳבֵ֨ל by reason of qĕbēl מִלֵּ֤י the words millâ מַלְכָּא֙ of the king melek וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי and his lords, rabrĕbān לְבֵ֥ית house: bayit מִשְׁתְּיָ֖א into the banquet mište עַלַּ֑לת came ʿălal עֲנָ֨ת spake ʿănâ מַלְכְּתָ֜א the queen malkāʾ וַאֲמֶ֗רֶת and said, ʾămar מַלְכָּא֙ O king, melek לְעָלְמִ֣ין for ever: ʿālam חֱיִ֔י live ḥăyāʾ אַֽל let not ʾal יְבַהֲלוּךְ֙ trouble bĕhal רַעְיוֹנָ֔ךְ thy thoughts raʿyôn וְזִיוָ֖יךְ let thy countenance zîw אַל thee, nor ʾal יִשְׁתַּנּֽוֹ׃ be changed: šĕnāʾ
  11. אִיתַ֨י There is ʾîtay גְּבַ֜ר a man gĕbar בְּמַלְכוּתָ֗ךְ in thy kingdom, malkû דִּ֠י in whom ר֣וּחַ the spirit rûaḥ אֱלָהִ֣ין gods; ʾĕlāh קַדִּישִׁין֮ of the holy qaddîš בֵּהּ֒ וּבְיוֹמֵ֣י and in the days yôm אֲב֗וּךְ of thy father ʾab נַהִיר֧וּ light nĕhîr וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֛וּ and understanding śoklĕtānû וְחָכְמָ֥ה and wisdom, ḥokmâ כְּחָכְמַת like the wisdom ḥokmâ אֱלָהִ֖ין of the gods, ʾĕlāh הִשְׁתְּכַ֣חַת was found šĕkaḥ בֵּ֑הּ וּמַלְכָּ֤א in him; whom the king melek נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּר֙ Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar אֲב֔וּךְ thy father, ʾab רַ֧ב master rab חַרְטֻמִּ֣ין of the magicians, ḥarṭōm אָֽשְׁפִ֗ין astrologers, ʾaššāp כַּשְׂדָּאִין֙ Chaldeans, kaśday גָּזְרִ֔ין soothsayers; gĕzar הֲקִימֵ֖הּ made qûm אֲב֥וּךְ thy father, ʾab מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king, melek
  12. כָּל kōl קֳבֵ֡ל Forasmuch as qĕbēl דִּ֣י whom ר֣וּחַ׀ spirit, rûaḥ יַתִּירָ֡ה an excellent yattîr וּמַנְדַּ֡ע and knowledge, mandaʿ וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֡וּ and understanding, śoklĕtānû מְפַשַּׁ֣ר interpreting pĕšar חֶלְמִין֩ of dreams, ḥēlem וַֽאַֽחֲוָיַ֨ת and shewing ʾaḥăwâ אֲחִידָ֜ן of hard sentences, ʾăḥîdâ וּמְשָׁרֵ֣א and dissolving šĕrēʾ קִטְרִ֗ין of doubts, qĕṭar הִשְׁתְּכַ֤חַת were found šĕkaḥ בֵּהּ֙ בְּדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל in the same Daniel, dāniyyēl דִּֽי מַלְכָּ֥א the king melek שָׂם named śûm שְׁמֵ֖הּ šum בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֑ר Belteshazzar: bēlĕṭšaʾṣṣar כְּעַ֛ן now kĕʿan דָּנִיֵּ֥אל let Daniel dāniyyēl יִתְקְרֵ֖י be called, qĕrāʾ וּפִשְׁרָ֥ה the interpretation. pĕšar יְהַֽחֲוֵֽה׃ and he will shew ḥăwāʾ
  13. בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ Then ʾĕdayin דָּֽנִיֵּ֔אל was Daniel dāniyyēl הֻעַ֖ל brought in ʿălal קֳדָ֣ם before qŏdām מַלְכָּ֑א the king. melek עָנֵ֨ה spake ʿănâ מַלְכָּ֜א the king melek וְאָמַ֣ר and said ʾămar לְדָנִיֵּ֗אל unto Daniel, dāniyyēl אַנְתְּה thou ʾantâ ה֤וּא that hûʾ דָנִיֵּאל֙ Daniel, dāniyyēl דִּֽי which מִן of min בְּנֵ֤י the children bēn גָלוּתָא֙ of the captivity gālût דִּ֣י of יְה֔וּד Judah, yĕhûd דִּ֥י whom הַיְתִ֛י brought out ʾātâ מַלְכָּ֥א the king melek אַ֖בִי my father ʾab מִן of min יְהֽוּד׃ Jewry? yĕhûd
  14. וְשִׁמְעֵ֣ת I have even heard šĕmaʿ עֲלָ֔יךְ of thee, ʿal דִּ֛י that ר֥וּחַ the spirit rûaḥ אֱלָהִ֖ין of the gods ʾĕlāh בָּ֑ךְ וְנַהִיר֧וּ in thee, and light nĕhîr וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֛וּ and understanding śoklĕtānû וְחָכְמָ֥ה wisdom ḥokmâ יַתִּירָ֖ה and excellent yattîr הִשְׁתְּכַ֥חַת is found in thee. šĕkaḥ בָּֽךְ׃
  15. וּכְעַ֞ן And now kĕʿan הֻעַ֣לּוּ have been brought in ʿălal קָֽדָמַ֗י before qŏdām חַכִּֽימַיָּא֙ the wise ḥakkîm אָֽשְׁפַיָּ֔א the astrologers, ʾaššāp דִּֽי me, that כְתָבָ֤ה writing, kĕtāb דְנָה֙ this dēn יִקְר֔וֹן they should read qĕrāʾ וּפִשְׁרֵ֖הּ unto me the interpretation pĕšar לְהוֹדָעֻתַ֑נִי and make known yĕdaʿ וְלָֽא not lāʾ כָהֲלִ֥ין thereof: but they could kĕhal פְּשַֽׁר the interpretation pĕšar מִלְּתָ֖א of the thing: millâ לְהַחֲוָיָֽה׃ shew ḥăwāʾ
  16. וַאֲנָה֙ And I ʾănāʾ שִׁמְעֵ֣ת have heard šĕmaʿ עֲלָ֔יךְ ʿal דִּֽי of thee, that תִוכֻּ֥ל thou canst yĕkēl פִּשְׁרִ֛ין interpretations, pĕšar לְמִפְשַׁ֖ר make pĕšar וְקִטְרִ֣ין doubts: qĕṭar לְמִשְׁרֵ֑א and dissolve šĕrēʾ כְּעַ֡ן now kĕʿan הֵן֩ if hēn תִּוכֻּ֨ל thou canst yĕkēl כְּתָבָ֜א the writing, kĕtāb לְמִקְרֵ֗א read qĕrāʾ וּפִשְׁרֵהּ֙ to me the interpretation pĕšar לְהוֹדָ֣עוּתַ֔נִי and make known yĕdaʿ אַרְגְּוָנָ֣א with scarlet, ʾargĕwān תִלְבַּ֗שׁ thereof, thou shalt be clothed lĕbaš וְהַֽמְוִנכָ֤א and a chain hamnîk דִֽי of דַהֲבָא֙ gold dĕhab עַֽל about ʿal צַוְּארָ֔ךְ thy neck, ṣawwar וְתַלְתָּ֥א and shalt be the third tĕlat בְמַלְכוּתָ֖א in the kingdom. malkû תִּשְׁלַֽט׃ ruler šĕlēṭ
  17. בֵּאדַ֜יִן Then ʾĕdayin עָנֵ֣ה answered ʿănâ דָנִיֵּ֗אל Daniel dāniyyēl וְאָמַר֙ and said ʾămar קֳדָ֣ם before qŏdām מַלְכָּ֔א the king, melek מַתְּנָתָךְ֙ Let thy gifts mattĕnāʾ לָ֣ךְ לֶֽהֶוְיָ֔ן be hāwāʾ וּנְבָ֥זְבְּיָתָ֖ךְ thy rewards nĕbizbâ לְאָחֳרָ֣ן to another; ʾoḥŏrān הַ֑ב to thyself, and give yĕhab בְּרַ֗ם yet bĕram כְּתָבָא֙ the writing kĕtāb אֶקְרֵ֣א I will read qĕrāʾ לְמַלְכָּ֔א unto the king, melek וּפִשְׁרָ֖א to him the interpretation. pĕšar אֲהוֹדְעִנֵּֽהּ׃ and make known yĕdaʿ
  18. אַ֖נְתְּה O thou ʾantâ מַלְכָּ֑א king, melek אֱלָהָא֙ God ʾĕlāh עִלָּיָ֔א the most high ʿillay מַלְכוּתָ֤א a kingdom, malkû וּרְבוּתָא֙ and majesty, rĕbû וִיקָרָ֣א and glory, yĕqār וְהַדְרָ֔א and honour: hădar יְהַ֖ב gave yĕhab לִנְבֻכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar אֲבֽוּךְ׃ thy father ʾab
  19. וּמִן And for min רְבוּתָא֙ the majesty rĕbû דִּ֣י that יְהַב he gave yĕhab לֵ֔הּ כֹּ֣ל him, all kōl עַֽמְמַיָּ֗א people, ʿam אֻמַיָּא֙ nations, ʾummâ וְלִשָּׁ֣נַיָּ֔א and languages, liššān הֲו֛וֹ trembled hāwāʾ זָאְעִ֥ין zûaʿ וְדָחֲלִ֖ין and feared dĕḥal מִן before min קֳדָמ֑וֹהִי him: qŏdām דִּֽי whom הֲוָ֨א he would hāwāʾ צָבֵ֜א ṣĕbāʾ הֲוָ֣ה he slew; hāwāʾ קָטֵ֗ל qĕṭal וְדִֽי and whom הֲוָ֤ה he would hāwāʾ צָבֵא֙ ṣĕbāʾ הֲוָ֣ה he kept alive; hāwāʾ מַחֵ֔א ḥăyāʾ וְדִֽי and whom הֲוָ֤ה he would hāwāʾ צָבֵא֙ ṣĕbāʾ הֲוָ֣ה he set up; hāwāʾ מָרִ֔ים rûm וְדִֽי and whom הֲוָ֥א he would hāwāʾ צָבֵ֖א ṣĕbāʾ הֲוָ֥א he put down. hāwāʾ מַשְׁפִּֽל׃ šĕpal
  20. וּכְדִי֙ But when רִ֣ם was lifted up, rûm לִבְבֵ֔הּ his heart lĕbab וְרוּחֵ֖הּ and his mind rûaḥ תִּֽקְפַ֣ת hardened tĕqēp לַהֲזָדָ֑ה in pride, zûd הָנְחַת֙ he was deposed nĕḥat מִן from min כָּרְסֵ֣א throne, korsēʾ מַלְכוּתֵ֔הּ his kingly malkû וִֽיקָרָ֖ה his glory yĕqār הֶעְדִּ֥יוּ and they took ʿădāʾ מִנֵּֽהּ׃ from him: min
  21. וּמִן from min בְּנֵי֩ the sons bēn אֲנָשָׁ֨א of men; ʾĕnoš טְרִ֜יד And he was driven ṭĕrad וְלִבְבֵ֣הּ׀ and his heart lĕbab עִם like ʿim חֵיוְתָ֣א the beasts, ḥêwāʾ שַׁוִּ֗י was made šĕwâ וְעִם with ʿim עֲרָֽדַיָּא֙ the wild asses: ʿărād מְדוֹרֵ֔הּ and his dwelling mĕdôr עִשְׂבָּ֤א him with grass ʿoš כְתוֹרִין֙ like oxen, tôr יְטַ֣עֲמוּנֵּ֔הּ they fed ṭĕʿam וּמִטַּ֥ל with the dew ṭal שְׁמַיָּ֖א of heaven; šāmayin גִּשְׁמֵ֣הּ and his body gešem יִצְטַבַּ֑ע was wet ṣĕbaʿ עַ֣ד till ʿad דִּֽי יְדַ֗ע he knew yĕdaʿ דִּֽי that שַׁלִּ֞יט ruled šallîṭ אֱלָהָ֤א God ʾĕlāh עִלָּיָא֙ the most high ʿillay בְּמַלְכ֣וּת in the kingdom malkû אֲנָשָׁ֔א of men, ʾĕnoš וּלְמַן it whomsoever mān דִּ֥י יִצְבֵּ֖א he will. ṣĕbāʾ יְהָקֵ֥ים and he appointeth qûm עֲלַֽיהּ׃ over ʿal
  22. וְאַ֤נְתְּה And thou ʾantâ בְּרֵהּ֙ his son, bar בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֔ר O Belshazzar, bēlĕšaʾṣṣar לָ֥א hast not lāʾ הַשְׁפֵּ֖לְתְּ humbled šĕpal לִבְבָ֑ךְ thine heart, lĕbab כָּל kōl קֳבֵ֕ל though qĕbēl דִּ֥י כָל all kōl דְּנָ֖ה this; dēn יְדַֽעְתָּ׃ thou knewest yĕdaʿ
  23. וְעַ֣ל against ʿal מָרֵֽא the Lord mārēʾ שְׁמַיָּ֣א׀ of heaven; šāmayin הִתְרוֹמַ֡מְתָּ But hast lifted up thyself rûm וּלְמָֽאנַיָּ֨א the vessels mān דִֽי of בַיְתֵ֜הּ his house bayit הַיְתִ֣יו and they have brought ʾātâ קָֽדָמָ֗יךְ before qŏdām וְאַ֨נְתְּה thee, and thou, ʾantâ וְרַבְרְבָנָ֜יךְ and thy lords, rabrĕbān שֵֽׁגְלָתָ֣ךְ thy wives, šēgāl וּלְחֵנָתָךְ֮ and thy concubines, lĕḥēnâ חַמְרָא֮ wine ḥămar שָׁתַ֣יִן have drunk šĕtâ בְּהוֹן֒ וְלֵֽאלָהֵ֣י the gods ʾĕlāh כַסְפָּֽא of silver, kĕsap וְ֠דַהֲבָא and gold, dĕhab נְחָשָׁ֨א of brass, nĕḥoš פַרְזְלָ֜א iron, parzel אָעָ֣א wood, ʾāʿ וְאַבְנָ֗א and stone, ʾeben דִּ֠י which לָֽא not, lāʾ חָזַ֧יִן see ḥăzāʾ וְלָא nor lāʾ שָׁמְעִ֛ין hear, šĕmaʿ וְלָ֥א nor lāʾ יָדְעִ֖ין know: yĕdaʿ שַׁבַּ֑חְתָּ in them; and thou hast praised šĕbaḥ וְלֵֽאלָהָ֞א and the God ʾĕlāh דִּֽי in whose נִשְׁמְתָ֥ךְ thy breath nišmāʾ בִּידֵ֛הּ hand yad וְכָל and whose all kōl אֹרְחָתָ֥ךְ thy ways, ʾōraḥ לֵ֖הּ לָ֥א hast thou not lāʾ הַדַּֽרְתָּ׃ glorified: hădar
  24. בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ Then ʾĕdayin מִן from min קֳדָמ֔וֹהִי him; qŏdām שְׁלִ֖יַחַ sent šĕlaḥ פַּסָּ֣א was the part pas דִֽי of יְדָ֑א the hand yad וּכְתָבָ֥א writing kĕtāb דְנָ֖ה and this dēn רְשִֽׁים׃ was written. rĕšam
  25. וּדְנָ֥ה And this dēn כְתָבָ֖א the writing kĕtāb דִּ֣י that רְשִׁ֑ים was written, rĕšam מְנֵ֥א MENE, mĕnēʾ מְנֵ֖א MENE, mĕnēʾ תְּקֵ֥ל TEKEL, tĕqal וּפַרְסִֽין׃ UPHARSIN. pĕras
  26. דְּנָ֖ה This dēn פְּשַֽׁר the interpretation pĕšar מִלְּתָ֑א of the thing: millâ מְנֵ֕א MENE; mĕnēʾ מְנָֽה hath numbered mĕnāʾ אֱלָהָ֥א God ʾĕlāh מַלְכוּתָ֖ךְ thy kingdom, malkû וְהַשְׁלְמַֽהּ׃ and finished it. šĕlam
  27. תְּקֵ֑ל TEKEL; tĕqal תְּקִ֥ילְתָּא Thou art weighed tĕqal בְמֹֽאזַנְיָ֖א in the balances, mōʾzēn וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֥חַתְּ and art found šĕkaḥ חַסִּֽיר׃ wanting. ḥassîr
  28. פְּרֵ֑ס PERES; pĕras פְּרִיסַת֙ is divided, pĕras מַלְכוּתָ֔ךְ Thy kingdom malkû וִיהִיבַ֖ת and given yĕhab לְמָדַ֥י to the Medes māday וּפָרָֽס׃ and Persians. pāras
  29. בֵּאדַ֣יִן׀ Then ʾĕdayin אֲמַ֣ר commanded ʾămar בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֗ר Belshazzar, bēlĕšaʾṣṣar וְהַלְבִּ֤שׁוּ and they clothed lĕbaš לְדָֽנִיֵּאל֙ Daniel dāniyyēl אַרְגְּוָנָ֔א with scarlet, ʾargĕwān וְהַֽמְוִנכָ֥א and a chain hamnîk דִֽי of דַהֲבָ֖א gold dĕhab עַֽל about ʿal צַוְּארֵ֑הּ his neck, ṣawwar וְהַכְרִ֣זֽוּ and made a proclamation kĕraz עֲל֔וֹהִי concerning ʿal דִּֽי him, that לֶהֱוֵ֥א he should be hāwāʾ שַׁלִּ֛יט ruler šallîṭ תַּלְתָּ֖א the third tĕlat בְּמַלְכוּתָֽא׃ in the kingdom. malkû
  30. בֵּ֚הּ בְּלֵ֣ילְיָ֔א In that night lêlĕyāʾ קְטִ֕יל slain. qĕṭal בֵּלְאשַׁצַּ֖ר was Belshazzar bēlĕšaʾṣṣar מַלְכָּ֥א the king melek כַשְׂדָּיָֽא׃ of the Chaldeans kaśday
  31. וְדָרְיָ֙וֶשׁ֙ And Darius dārĕyāwēš מָֽדָיָ֔א the Median māday קַבֵּ֖ל took qĕbal מַלְכוּתָ֑א the kingdom, malkû כְּבַ֥ר old. bar שְׁנִ֖ין years šĕnâ שִׁתִּ֥ין about threescore šittîn וְתַרְתֵּֽין׃ and two tĕrên
