  1. נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּ֗א the king melek עֲבַד֙ made ʿăbad צְלֵ֣ם an image ṣelem דִּֽי of דְהַ֔ב gold, dĕhab רוּמֵהּ֙ whose height rûm אַמִּ֣ין cubits, ʾammâ שִׁתִּ֔ין threescore šittîn פְּתָיֵ֖הּ the breadth pĕtay אַמִּ֣ין cubits: ʾammâ שִׁ֑ת thereof six šēt אֲקִימֵהּ֙ he set it up qûm בְּבִקְעַ֣ת in the plain biqʿāʾ דּוּרָ֔א of Dura, dûrāʾ בִּמְדִינַ֖ת in the province mĕdînâ בָּבֶֽל׃ of Babylon. babel
  2. וּנְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר Then Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּ֡א the king melek שְׁלַ֡ח sent šĕlaḥ לְמִכְנַ֣שׁ׀ to gather together kānaš לַֽאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֡א the princes, ʾăḥašdarpan סִגְנַיָּ֣א the governors, sĕgan וּֽפַחֲוָתָ֡א and the captains, peḥâ אֲדַרְגָּזְרַיָּא֩ the judges, ʾădargāzēr גְדָ֨בְרַיָּ֤א the treasurers, gĕdābār דְּתָבְרַיָּא֙ the counsellers, dĕtābār תִּפְתָּיֵ֔א the sheriffs, tiptay וְכֹ֖ל and all kōl שִׁלְטֹנֵ֣י the rulers šilṭôn מְדִֽינָתָ֑א of the provinces, mĕdînâ לְמֵתֵא֙ to come ʾātâ לַחֲנֻכַּ֣ת to the dedication ḥănukkāʾ צַלְמָ֔א of the image ṣelem דִּ֥י which הֲקֵ֖ים had set up. qûm נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king melek
  3. בֵּאדַ֡יִן Then ʾĕdayin מִֽתְכַּנְּשִׁ֡ין were gathered together kānaš אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֡א the princes, ʾăḥašdarpan סִגְנַיָּ֣א the governors, sĕgan וּֽפַחֲוָתָ֡א and captains, peḥâ אֲדַרְגָּזְרַיָּ֣א the judges, ʾădargāzēr גְדָבְרַיָּא֩ the treasurers, gĕdābār דְּתָ֨בְרַיָּ֜א the counsellers, dĕtābār תִּפְתָּיֵ֗א the sheriffs, tiptay וְכֹל֙ and all kōl שִׁלְטֹנֵ֣י the rulers šilṭôn מְדִֽינָתָ֔א of the provinces, mĕdînâ לַחֲנֻכַּ֣ת unto the dedication ḥănukkāʾ צַלְמָ֔א of the image ṣelem דִּ֥י that הֲקֵ֖ים had set up; qûm נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּ֑א the king melek וְקָֽאְמִין֙ and they stood qûm לָקֳבֵ֣ל before qĕbēl צַלְמָ֔א the image ṣelem דִּ֥י that הֲקֵ֖ים had set up. qûm נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּֽר׃ Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar
  4. וְכָרוֹזָ֖א Then an herald kārôz קָרֵ֣א cried qĕrāʾ בְחָ֑יִל aloud, ḥayil לְכ֤וֹן אָֽמְרִין֙ To you it is commanded, ʾămar עַֽמְמַיָּ֔א O people, ʿam אֻמַּיָּ֖א nations, ʾummâ וְלִשָּׁנַיָּֽא׃ and languages, liššān
  5. בְּעִדָּנָ֡א time ʿiddān דִּֽי at what תִשְׁמְע֡וּן ye hear šĕmaʿ קָ֣ל the sound qāl קַרְנָ֣א of the cornet, qeren מַ֠שְׁרוֹקִיתָא flute, mašrôqî קַיתְר֨וֹס harp, qîtārōs סַבְּכָ֤א sackbut, sabbĕkāʾ פְּסַנְתֵּרִין֙ psaltery, pĕsanṭērîn סוּמְפֹּ֣נְיָ֔ה dulcimer, sûmĕppônĕyâ וְכֹ֖ל and all kōl זְנֵ֣י kinds zan זְמָרָ֑א of musick, zĕmār תִּפְּל֤וּן ye fall down nĕpal וְתִסְגְּדוּן֙ and worship sĕgid לְצֶ֣לֶם image ṣelem דַּהֲבָ֔א the golden dĕhab דִּ֥י that הֲקֵ֖ים hath set up: qûm נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king melek
  6. וּמַן And whoso mān דִּי לָ֥א not lāʾ יִפֵּ֖ל falleth down nĕpal וְיִסְגֻּ֑ד and worshippeth sĕgid בַּהּ שַׁעֲתָ֣א shall the same hour šāʿâ יִתְרְמֵ֔א be cast rĕmâ לְגֽוֹא into the midst gǎw אַתּ֥וּן furnace. ʾattûn נוּרָ֖א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ of a burning yĕqad
  7. כָּל kōl קֳבֵ֣ל Therefore qĕbēl דְּנָ֡ה dēn בֵּהּ זִמְנָ֡א at that time, zĕmān כְּדִ֣י when שָֽׁמְעִ֣ין heard šĕmaʿ כָּֽל all kōl עַמְמַיָּ֡א the people ʿam קָ֣ל the sound qāl קַרְנָא֩ of the cornet, qeren מַשְׁר֨וֹקִיתָ֜א flute, mašrôqî קַיְת֤רֹס harp, qîtārōs שַׂבְּכָא֙ sackbut, sabbĕkāʾ פְּסַנְטֵרִ֔ין psaltery, pĕsanṭērîn וְכֹ֖ל and all kōl זְנֵ֣י kinds zan זְמָרָ֑א of musick, zĕmār נָֽפְלִ֨ין fell down nĕpal כָּֽל all kōl עַֽמְמַיָּ֜א the people, ʿam אֻמַיָּ֣א the nations, ʾummâ וְלִשָּׁנַיָּ֗א and the languages, liššān סָֽגְדִין֙ worshipped sĕgid לְצֶ֣לֶם image ṣelem דַּהֲבָ֔א the golden dĕhab דִּ֥י that הֲקֵ֖ים had set up. qûm נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king melek
  8. כָּל kōl קֳבֵ֤ל Wherefore qĕbēl דְּנָה֙ at that dēn בֵּהּ זִמְנָ֔א time zĕmān קְרִ֖בוּ came near, qĕrēb גֻּבְרִ֣ין certain gĕbar כַּשְׂדָּאִ֑ין Chaldeans kaśday וַאֲכַ֥לוּ ʾăkal קַרְצֵיה֖וֹן and accused qĕraṣ דִּ֥י יְהוּדָיֵֽא׃ the Jews. yĕhûdāʾî
  9. עֲנוֹ֙ They spake ʿănâ וְאָ֣מְרִ֔ין and said ʾămar לִנְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֖ר Nebuchadnezzar, nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּ֑א to the king melek מַלְכָּ֖א O king, melek לְעָלְמִ֥ין for ever. ʿālam חֱיִֽי׃ live ḥăyāʾ
  10. אַ֣נְתְּה Thou, ʾantâ מַלְכָּא֮ O king, melek שָׂ֣מְתָּ hast made śûm טְּעֵם֒ a decree, ṭĕʿēm דִּ֣י that כָל every kōl אֱנָ֡שׁ man ʾĕnoš דִּֽי that יִשְׁמַ֡ע shall hear šĕmaʿ קָ֣ל the sound qāl קַרְנָ֣א of the cornet, qeren מַ֠שְׁרֹקִיתָא flute, mašrôqî קַיְת֨רֹס harp, qîtārōs שַׂבְּכָ֤א sackbut, sabbĕkāʾ פְסַנְתֵּרִין֙ psaltery, pĕsanṭērîn וְסיּפֹּ֣נְיָ֔ה and dulcimer, sûmĕppônĕyâ וְכֹ֖ל and all kōl זְנֵ֣י kinds zan זְמָרָ֑א of musick, zĕmār יִפֵּ֥ל shall fall down nĕpal וְיִסְגֻּ֖ד and worship sĕgid לְצֶ֥לֶם image: ṣelem דַּהֲבָֽא׃ the golden dĕhab
  11. וּמַן And whoso mān דִּי לָ֥א not lāʾ יִפֵּ֖ל falleth down nĕpal וְיִסְגֻּ֑ד and worshippeth, sĕgid יִתְרְמֵ֕א he should be cast rĕmâ לְגֽוֹא into the midst gǎw אַתּ֥וּן furnace. ʾattûn נוּרָ֖א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ of a burning yĕqad
  12. אִיתַ֞י There are ʾîtay גֻּבְרִ֣ין certain gĕbar יְהוּדָאיִ֗ן Jews yĕhûdāʾî דִּֽי מַנִּ֤יתָ thou hast set mĕnāʾ יָתְהוֹן֙ whom yat עַל over ʿal עֲבִידַת֙ the affairs ʿăbîdâ מְדִינַ֣ת of the province mĕdînâ בָּבֶ֔ל of Babylon, babel שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֖ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ and Abed-nego; ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א men, gĕbar אִלֵּ֗ךְ these ʾillēk לָא not lāʾ שָׂ֨מֽוּ have śûm עֲלָ֤יךְ ʿal מַלְכָּא֙ O king, melek טְעֵ֔ם regarded ṭĕʿēm לֵֽאלָהָיךְ֙ thy gods, ʾĕlāh לָ֣א not lāʾ פָלְחִ֔ין thee: they serve pĕlaḥ וּלְצֶ֧לֶם image ṣelem דַּהֲבָ֛א the golden dĕhab דִּ֥י which הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ thou hast set up. qûm לָ֥א nor lāʾ סָגְדִֽין׃ worship sĕgid
  13. בֵּאדַ֤יִן Then ʾĕdayin נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּר֙ Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar בִּרְגַ֣ז in rage rĕgaz וַֽחֲמָ֔א and fury ḥĕmāʾ אֲמַר֙ commanded ʾămar לְהַיְתָיָ֔ה to bring ʾātâ לְשַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֖ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ and Abed-nego. ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ Then ʾĕdayin גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א men gĕbar אִלֵּ֔ךְ these ʾillēk הֵיתָ֖יוּ they brought ʾātâ קֳדָ֥ם before qŏdām מַלְכָּֽא׃ the king. melek
  14. עָנֵ֤ה spake ʿănâ נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּר֙ Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar וְאָמַ֣ר and said unto them, ʾămar לְה֔וֹן הַצְדָּ֕א true, ṣĕdāʾ שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ O Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֖ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ לֵֽאלָהַ֗י my gods, ʾĕlāh לָ֤א not lāʾ אִֽיתֵיכוֹן֙ do ʾîtay פָּֽלְחִ֔ין ye serve pĕlaḥ וּלְצֶ֧לֶם image ṣelem דַּהֲבָ֛א the golden dĕhab דִּ֥י which הֲקֵ֖ימֶת I have set up? qûm לָ֥א nor lāʾ סָֽגְדִֽין׃ worship sĕgid
  15. כְּעַ֞ן Now kĕʿan הֵ֧ן if hēn אִֽיתֵיכ֣וֹן ye be ʾîtay עֲתִידִ֗ין ready ʿătîd דִּ֣י that בְעִדָּנָ֡א time ʿiddān דִּֽי at what תִשְׁמְע֡וּן ye hear šĕmaʿ קָ֣ל the sound qāl קַרְנָ֣א of the cornet, qeren מַשְׁרוֹקִיתָ֣א flute, mašrôqî קַיְת֣רֹס harp, qîtārōs שַׂבְּכָ֡א sackbut, sabbĕkāʾ פְּסַנְתֵּרִין֩ psaltery, pĕsanṭērîn וְסוּמְפֹּ֨נְיָ֜ה and dulcimer, sûmĕppônĕyâ וְכֹ֣ל׀ and all kōl זְנֵ֣י kinds zan זְמָרָ֗א of musick, zĕmār תִּפְּל֣וּן ye fall down nĕpal וְתִסְגְּדוּן֮ and worship sĕgid לְצַלְמָ֣א the image ṣelem דִֽי which עַבְדֵת֒ I have made; ʿăbad וְהֵן֙ but if hēn לָ֣א not, lāʾ תִסְגְּד֔וּן ye worship sĕgid בַּהּ שַֽׁעֲתָ֣א the same hour šāʿâ תִתְרְמ֔וֹן ye shall be cast rĕmâ לְגֽוֹא into the midst gǎw אַתּ֥וּן furnace; ʾattûn נוּרָ֖א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּ֑א of a burning yĕqad וּמַן and who mān ה֣וּא that hûʾ אֱלָ֔הּ God ʾĕlāh דֵּ֥י that יְשֵֽׁיזְבִנְכ֖וֹן shall deliver šĕzab מִן you out of min יְדָֽי׃ my hands? yad
  16. עֲנ֗וֹ answered ʿănâ שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁךְ֙ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ וְאָמְרִ֖ין and said ʾămar לְמַלְכָּ֑א to the king, melek נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֔ר O Nebuchadnezzar, nĕbûkadneṣṣar לָֽא not lāʾ חַשְׁחִ֨ין careful ḥăšaḥ אֲנַ֧חְנָא we ʾănaḥnāʾ עַל thee in ʿal דְּנָ֛ה this dēn פִּתְגָ֖ם matter. pitgām לַהֲתָבוּתָֽךְ׃ to answer tûb
  17. הֵ֣ן If hēn אִיתַ֗י it be ʾîtay אֱלָהַ֙נָא֙ our God ʾĕlāh דִּֽי whom אֲנַ֣חְנָא we ʾănaḥnāʾ פָֽלְחִ֔ין serve pĕlaḥ יָכִ֖ל is able yĕkēl לְשֵׁיזָבוּתַ֑נָא to deliver šĕzab מִן us from min אַתּ֨וּן furnace, ʾattûn נוּרָ֧א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּ֛א the burning yĕqad וּמִן and out of min יְדָ֥ךְ thine hand, yad מַלְכָּ֖א O king. melek יְשֵׁיזִֽב׃ he will deliver šĕzab
  18. וְהֵ֣ן But if hēn לָ֔א not, lāʾ יְדִ֥יעַ known yĕdaʿ לֶהֱוֵא be it hāwāʾ לָ֖ךְ מַלְכָּ֑א unto thee, O king, melek דִּ֤י that לֵֽאלָהָיִךְ֙ thy gods, ʾĕlāh לָא not lāʾ אִיתַ֣ינָא we will ʾîtay פָֽלְחִ֔ין serve pĕlaḥ וּלְצֶ֧לֶם image ṣelem דַּהֲבָ֛א the golden dĕhab דִּ֥י which הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ thou hast set up. qûm לָ֥א nor lāʾ נִסְגֻּֽד׃ worship sĕgid
  19. בֵּאדַ֨יִן Then ʾĕdayin נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֜ר was Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar הִתְמְלִ֣י full mĕlāʾ חֱמָ֗א of fury, ḥĕmāʾ וּצְלֵ֤ם and the form ṣelem אַנְפּ֙וֹהִי֙ of his visage ʾănap אֶשְׁתַּנִּ֔ו was changed šĕnāʾ עַל against ʿal שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֖ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ and Abed-nego: ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ עָנֵ֤ה he spake, ʿănâ וְאָמַר֙ and commanded ʾămar לְמֵזֵ֣א that they should heat ʾăzāʾ לְאַתּוּנָ֔א the furnace ʾattûn חַ֨ד one ḥad שִׁבְעָ֔ה seven times šibʿâ עַ֛ל more ʿal דִּ֥י than חֲזֵ֖ה it was wont ḥăzāʾ לְמֵזְיֵֽהּ׃ to be heated. ʾăzāʾ
  20. וּלְגֻבְרִ֤ין men gĕbar גִּבָּֽרֵי mighty gibbār חַ֙יִל֙ the most ḥayil דִּ֣י that בְחַיְלֵ֔הּ in his army ḥayil אֲמַר֙ And he commanded ʾămar לְכַפָּתָ֔ה to bind kĕpat לְשַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֖ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ לְמִרְמֵ֕א to cast rĕmâ לְאַתּ֥וּן furnace. ʾattûn נוּרָ֖א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ into the burning yĕqad
  21. בֵּאדַ֜יִן Then ʾĕdayin גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א men gĕbar אִלֵּ֗ךְ these ʾillēk כְּפִ֙תוּ֙ were bound kĕpat בְּסַרְבָּלֵיהוֹן֙ in their coats, sarbal פַּטְּישֵׁיה֔וֹן their hosen, paṭṭîš וְכַרְבְּלָתְה֖וֹן and their hats, karbĕlāʾ וּלְבֻשֵׁיה֑וֹן and their garments, lĕbûš וּרְמִ֕יו and were cast rĕmâ לְגֽוֹא into the midst gǎw אַתּ֥וּן furnace. ʾattûn נוּרָ֖א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ of the burning yĕqad
  22. כָּל Therefore kōl קֳבֵ֣ל qĕbēl דְּנָ֗ה dēn מִן because min דִּ֞י מִלַּ֤ת commandment millâ מַלְכָּא֙ the king's melek מַחְצְפָ֔ה was urgent, ḥăṣap וְאַתּוּנָ֖א and the furnace ʾattûn אֵזֵ֣ה hot, ʾăzāʾ יַתִּ֑ירָה exceeding yattîr גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א men gĕbar אִלֵּ֗ךְ those ʾillēk דִּ֤י of הַסִּ֙קוּ֙ took up nĕsaq לְשַׁדְרַ֤ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁךְ֙ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ and Abed-nego. ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ קַטִּ֣ל slew qĕṭal הִמּ֔וֹן himmô שְׁבִיבָ֖א the flame śĕbîb דִּ֥י that נוּרָֽא׃ the fire nûr
  23. וְגֻבְרַיָּ֤א men, gĕbar אִלֵּךְ֙ And these ʾillēk תְּלָ֣תֵּה֔וֹן three tĕlāt שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֖ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ נְפַ֛לוּ fell down nĕpal לְגֽוֹא into the midst gǎw אַתּוּן furnace. ʾattûn נוּרָ֥א fiery nûr יָֽקִדְתָּ֖א of the burning yĕqad מְכַפְּתִֽין׃ bound kĕpat
  24. אֱדַ֙יִן֙ Then ʾĕdayin נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar מַלְכָּ֔א the king melek תְּוַ֖הּ was astonied, tĕwah וְקָ֣ם and rose up qûm בְּהִתְבְּהָלָ֑ה in haste, bĕhal עָנֵ֨ה spake, ʿănâ וְאָמַ֜ר and said ʾămar לְהַדָּֽבְר֗וֹהִי unto his counsellers, haddābār הֲלָא֩ Did not lāʾ גֻבְרִ֨ין men gĕbar תְּלָתָ֜ה three tĕlāt רְמֵ֤ינָא we cast rĕmâ לְגוֹא into the midst gǎw נוּרָא֙ of the fire? nûr מְכַפְּתִ֔ין bound kĕpat עָנַ֤יִן They answered ʿănâ וְאָמְרִין֙ and said ʾămar לְמַלְכָּ֔א unto the king, melek יַצִּיבָ֖א True, yaṣṣîb מַלְכָּֽא׃ O king. melek
  25. עָנֵ֣ה He answered ʿănâ וְאָמַ֗ר and said, ʾămar הָֽא Lo, hēʾ אֲנָ֨ה I ʾănāʾ חָזֵ֜ה see ḥăzāʾ גֻּבְרִ֣ין men gĕbar אַרְבְּעָ֗ה four ʾarbaʿ שְׁרַ֙יִן֙ loose, šĕrēʾ מַהְלְכִ֣ין walking hălak בְּגֽוֹא in the midst gǎw נוּרָ֔א of the fire, nûr וַחֲבָ֖ל hurt; ḥăbal לָא no lāʾ אִיתַ֣י and they have ʾîtay בְּה֑וֹן וְרֵוֵהּ֙ and the form rēw דִּ֣י of רְֽבִיעָיָ֔א the fourth rĕbîʿay דָּמֵ֖ה is like dĕmâ לְבַר the Son bar אֱלָהִֽין׃ of God. ʾĕlāh
  26. בֵּאדַ֜יִן Then ʾĕdayin קְרֵ֣ב came near qĕrēb נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar לִתְרַע֮ to the mouth tĕraʿ אַתּ֣וּן furnace, ʾattûn נוּרָ֣א fiery nûr יָקִֽדְתָּא֒ of the burning yĕqad עָנֵ֣ה spake, ʿănâ וְאָמַ֗ר and said, ʾămar שַׁדְרַ֨ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֧ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵד נְג֛וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ עַבְד֛וֹהִי ye servants ʿăbad דִּֽי of אֱלָהָ֥א God, ʾĕlāh עִלָּיָ֖א the most high ʿillay פֻּ֣קוּ come forth, nĕpaq וֶאֱת֑וֹ and come ʾātâ בֵּאדַ֣יִן Then ʾĕdayin נָֽפְקִ֗ין came forth nĕpaq שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֛ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֥ד נְג֖וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ מִן of min גּ֥וֹא the midst gǎw נוּרָֽא׃ of the fire. nûr
  27. וּ֠מִֽתְכַּנְּשִׁין being gathered together, kānaš אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֞א And the princes, ʾăḥašdarpan סִגְנַיָּ֣א governors, sĕgan וּפַחֲוָתָא֮ and captains, peḥâ וְהַדָּבְרֵ֣י counsellers, haddābār מַלְכָּא֒ and the king's melek חָזַ֣יִן saw ḥăzāʾ לְגֻבְרַיָּ֣א men, gĕbar אִלֵּ֡ךְ these ʾillēk דִּי֩ upon whose לָֽא had no lāʾ שְׁלֵ֨ט power, šĕlēṭ נוּרָ֜א the fire nûr בְּגֶשְׁמְה֗וֹן bodies gešem וּשְׂעַ֤ר was an hair śĕʿar רֵֽאשְׁהוֹן֙ of their head rēš לָ֣א nor lāʾ הִתְחָרַ֔ךְ singed, ḥărak וְסַרְבָּלֵיה֖וֹן were their coats sarbal לָ֣א neither lāʾ שְׁנ֑וֹ changed, šĕnāʾ וְרֵ֣יחַ the smell rêaḥ נ֔וּר of fire nûr לָ֥א nor lāʾ עֲדָ֖ת had passed on them. ʿădāʾ בְּהֽוֹן׃
  28. עָנֵ֨ה spake, ʿănâ נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֜ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneṣṣar וְאָמַ֗ר and said, ʾămar בְּרִ֤יךְ Blessed bĕrak אֱלָהֲהוֹן֙ the God ʾĕlāh דִּֽי of שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁךְ֙ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ דִּֽי who שְׁלַ֤ח hath sent šĕlaḥ מַלְאֲכֵהּ֙ his angel, malʾak וְשֵׁיזִ֣ב and delivered šĕzab לְעַבְד֔וֹהִי his servants ʿăbad דִּ֥י that הִתְרְחִ֖צוּ trusted rĕḥaṣ עֲל֑וֹהִי in him, ʿal וּמִלַּ֤ת word, millâ מַלְכָּא֙ the king's melek שַׁנִּ֔יו and have changed šĕnāʾ וִיהַ֣בוּ and yielded yĕhab גֶשְׁמְיה֗וֹן their bodies, gešem דִּ֠י that לָֽא they might not lāʾ יִפְלְח֤וּן serve pĕlaḥ וְלָֽא nor lāʾ יִסְגְּדוּן֙ worship sĕgid לְכָל any kōl אֱלָ֔הּ god, ʾĕlāh לָהֵ֖ן except lāhēn לֵאלָֽהֲהֽוֹן׃ their own God. ʾĕlāh
  29. וּמִנִּי֮ Therefore I min שִׂ֣ים make śûm טְעֵם֒ a decree, ṭĕʿēm דִּי֩ That כָל every kōl עַ֨ם people, ʿam אֻמָּ֜ה nation, ʾummâ וְלִשָּׁ֗ן and language, liššān דִּֽי which יֵאמַ֤ר speak ʾămar שָׁלהּ֙ any thing amiss šālâ עַ֣ל against ʿal אֱלָהֲה֗וֹן the God ʾĕlāh דִּֽי of שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁךְ֙ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹא and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ הַדָּמִ֣ין in pieces, haddām יִתְעֲבֵ֔ד shall be cut ʿăbad וּבַיְתֵ֖הּ and their houses bayit נְוָלִ֣י a dunghill: nĕwālû יִשְׁתַּוֵּ֑ה shall be made šĕwâ כָּל kōl קֳבֵ֗ל because qĕbēl דִּ֣י that לָ֤א no lāʾ אִיתַי֙ there is ʾîtay אֱלָ֣ה God ʾĕlāh אָחֳרָ֔ן other ʾoḥŏrān דִּֽי יִכֻּ֥ל can yĕkēl לְהַצָּלָ֖ה deliver nĕṣal כִּדְנָֽה׃ after this sort. dēn
  30. בֵּאדַ֣יִן Then ʾĕdayin מַלְכָּ֗א the king melek הַצְלַ֛ח promoted ṣĕlaḥ לְשַׁדְרַ֥ךְ Shadrach, šadrak מֵישַׁ֛ךְ Meshach, mêšak וַעֲבֵ֥ד נְג֖וֹ and Abed-nego, ʿăbēd nĕgôʾ בִּמְדִינַ֥ת in the province mĕdînâ בָּבֶֽל׃ of Babylon. babel
