1 சேனைகளையுடைய நகரமே, இப்போது தண்டுதண்டாகக் கூடிக்கொள்; நமக்கு விரோதமாக முற்றிக்கை போடப்படும்; இஸ்ரவேலுடைய நியாயாதிபதியைக் கோலினால் கன்னத்திலே அடிப்பார்கள். Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

2 எப்பிராத்தா என்னப்பட்ட பெத்லகேமே, நீ யூதேயாவிலுள்ள ஆயிரங்களுக்குள்ளே சிறியதாயிருந்தும், இஸ்ரவேலை ஆளப்போகிறவர் உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு என்னிடத்தில் வருவார்; அவருடைய புறப்படுதல் அநாதி நாட்களாகிய பூர்வத்தினுடையது. But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

3 ஆனாலும் பிரசவிக்கிறவள் பிரசவிக்கிறமட்டும் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார்; அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சகோதரரில் மீதியானவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடுங்கூடத் திரும்புவார்கள். Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

5 இவரே சமாதான காரணர்; அசீரியன் நம்முடைய தேசத்திலே வரும்போதும், நம்முடைய அரண்மனைகளை மிதிக்கும்போதும், ஏழு மேய்ப்பரையும் மனுஷரில் எட்டு அதிபதிகளையும் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நிறுத்துவேன். And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

6 இவர்கள் அசீரியா தேசத்தையும், நிம்ரோதின் தேசத்தையும், அதினுடைய வாசல்களுக்கு உட்புறமாகப் பட்டயத்திற்கு இரையாக்குவார்கள்; அசீரியன் நம்முடைய தேசத்தில் வரும்போதும், நம்முடைய எல்லைகளை மிதிக்கும்போதும் அவனுக்கு நம்மைத் தப்புவிப்பார். And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

7 யாக்கோபிலே மீதியானவர்கள் கர்த்தராலே வருகிற பனியைப்போலவும், மனுஷனுக்குக் காத்திராமலும், மனுபுத்திரருக்குத் தாமதியாமலும், பூண்டுகள்மேல் வருகிற மழைகளைப்போலவும், அநேக ஜனங்களின் நடுவிலே இருப்பார்கள். And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

8 யாக்கோபிலே மீதியானவர்கள், சிங்கம் காட்டுமிருகங்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறதற்குச் சமானமாகவும் கடந்துபோய் மிதித்துத் தப்புவிப்பாரில்லாமல் பீறிப்போடுகிற பாலசிங்கம் ஆட்டுமந்தைகளுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிறதற்குச் சமானமாகவும் ஜாதிகளுக்குள் அநேக ஜனங்களின் நடுவிலே இருப்பார்கள். And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

9 உன்னுடைய கை உன் விரோதிகளின்மேல் உயரும்; உன் சத்துருக்களெல்லாரும் சங்கரிக்கப்படுவார்கள். Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

10 அந்நாளிலே நான் உன் குதிரைகளை உன் நடுவில் இராதபடிக்குச் சங்கரித்து, உன் இரதங்களை அழித்து, And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:

11 உன் தேசத்துப் பட்டணங்களைச் சங்கரித்து, உன் அரண்களையெல்லாம் நிர்மூலமாக்கி, And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:

12 சூனிய வித்தைகள் உன் கையில் இராதபடிக்கு அகற்றுவேன்; நாள் பார்க்கிறவர்கள் உன்னிடத்தில் இல்லாமற்போவார்கள்; And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:

13 உன் சுரூபங்களையும் உன் சிலைகளையும் உன் நடுவில் இராதபடிக்கு நிர்மூலமாக்குவேன்; உன் கையின் கிரியையை நீ இனிப் பணிந்துகொள்ளாய். Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

14 நான் உன் விக்கிரகத்தோப்புகளை உன் நடுவில் இராதபடிக்குப் பிடுங்கி, உன் பட்டணங்களை அழித்து, And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

15 செவிகொடாத புறஜாதிகளிடத்திலே கோபத்தோடும் உக்கிரத்தோடும் நீதியைச் சரிக்கட்டுவேன் என்றார். And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.

1 Senaikalaiyutaiya nakaramae, ippothu thannduthanndaakak kootikkol; namakku virothamaaka muttikkai podappadum; isravaelutaiya niyaayaathipathiyaik kolinaal kannaththilae atippaarkal. Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

2 Eppiraaththaa ennappatta pethlakaemae, nee yoothaeyaavilulla aayirangalukkullae siriyathaayirunthum, isravaelai aalappokiravar unnidaththilirunthu purappattu ennidaththil varuvaar; avarutaiya purappaduthal anaathi naatkalaakiya poorvaththinutaiyathu. But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

3 Aanaalum pirasavikkiraval pirasavikkiramattum avarkalai oppukkoduppaar; appoluthu avarutaiya sakothararil meethiyaanavarkal Israel puththirarodungaூdath thirumpuvaarkal. Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

4 Avar nintukonndu, karththarutaiya palaththodum thammutaiya thaevanaakiya karththarutaiya naamaththin makaththuvaththodum maeyppaar; aakaiyaal avarkal nilaiththiruppaarkal; avar inip poomiyin ellaikal pariyanthamum makimaippaduvaar. And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

5 Ivarae samaathaana kaaranar; aseeriyan nammutaiya thaesaththilae varumpothum, nammutaiya arannmanaikalai mithikkumpothum, aelu maeypparaiyum manusharil ettu athipathikalaiyum avanukku virothamaaka niraுththuvaen. And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

6 Ivarkal aseeriyaa thaesaththaiyum, nimrothin thaesaththaiyum, athinutaiya vaasalkalukku utpuramaakap pattayaththirku iraiyaakkuvaarkal; aseeriyan nammutaiya thaesaththil varumpothum, nammutaiya ellaikalai mithikkumpothum avanukku nammaith thappuvippaar. And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

7 Yaakkopilae meethiyaanavarkal karththaraalae varukira paniyaippolavum, manushanukkuk kaaththiraamalum, manupuththirarukkuth thaamathiyaamalum, poonndukalmael varukira malaikalaippolavum, anaeka janangalin naduvilae iruppaarkal. And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

8 Yaakkopilae meethiyaanavarkal, singam kaattumirukangalukkullae irukkiratharkuch samaanamaakavum kadanthupoy mithiththuth thappuvippaarillaamal peerippodukira paalasingam aattumanthaikalukkullae irukkiratharkuch samaanamaakavum jaathikalukkul anaeka janangalin naduvilae iruppaarkal. And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

9 Unnutaiya kai un virothikalinmael uyarum; un saththurukkalellaarum sangarikkappaduvaarkal. Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.

10 Annaalilae naan un kuthiraikalai un naduvil iraathapatikkuch sangariththu, un irathangalai aliththu, And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:

11 Un thaesaththup pattanangalaich sangariththu, un arannkalaiyellaam nirmoolamaakki, And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:

12 Sooniya viththaikal un kaiyil iraathapatikku akattaுvaen; naal paarkkiravarkal unnidaththil illaamarpovaarkal; And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:

13 Un suroopangalaiyum un silaikalaiyum un naduvil iraathapatikku nirmoolamaakkuvaen; un kaiyin kiriyaiyai nee inip panninthukollaay. Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

14 Naan un vikkirakaththoppukalai un naduvil iraathapatikkup pidungi, un pattanangalai aliththu, And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

15 Sevikodaatha purajaathikalidaththilae kopaththodum ukkiraththodum neethiyaich sarikkattuvaen entar. And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
