இப்படியிருக்கையில் தானியேல் பிரதானிகளுக்கும் தேசாதிபதிகளுக்கும் மேற்பட்டவனாயிருந்தான்; தானியேலுக்குள் விசேஷித்த ஆவி இருந்தமையால் அவனை ராஜ்யம் முழுமைக்கும் அதிகாரியாக ஏற்படுத்த ராஜா நினைத்தான்.

தானியேல் தன்னை மற்ற மேற்பார்வையாளர்களைவிடச் சிறந்தவனாகக் காட்டினான். தானியேல் இதனைத் தனது நற்குணங்கள் மூலமும், நல்ல திறமைகள் மூலமும் செய்தான். அரசன் தானியேலின்மேல் மிகவும் வியப்படைந்தான். அவன் தானியேலை இராஜ்யம் முழுவதற்கும் ஆளுநாரக்கிவிடலாம் என்று திட்டமிட்டான்.

இம்மூவருள் தானியேலும் ஒருவர். இவர் மற்ற மேற்பார்வையாளரையும் தண்டல்காரரையும்விடச் சிறந்து விளங்கினார்; ஏனெனில், வியத்தகு ஆவி அவரிடத்தில் இருந்தது. தன் அரசின் முழுப் பொறுப்பையும் அவரிடம் ஒப்படைக்கலாம் என அரசன் எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தான்.

Ippatiyirukkaiyil thaaniyael pirathaanikalukkum thaesaathipathikalukkum maerpattavanaayirunthaan; thaaniyaelukkul viseshiththa aavi irunthamaiyaal avanai raajyam mulumaikkum athikaariyaaka aerpaduththa raajaa ninaiththaan.
