εἰς That eis τὸ ho μὴ not mē ταχέως soon tacheōs σαλευθῆναι be shaken saleuō ὑμᾶς ye hymas ἀπὸ in apo τοῦ ho νοὸς mind, nous μήτε or mēte θροεῖσθαι be troubled, throeō μήτε neither mēte διὰ by dia πνεύματος spirit, pneuma μήτε nor mēte διὰ by dia λόγου word, logos μήτε nor mēte δι' by dia ἐπιστολῆς letter epistolē ὡς as hōs δι' from dia ἡμῶν us, hēmōn ὡς as hōs ὅτι that hoti ἐνέστηκεν hand. enistēmi ἡ the ho ἡμέρα day hēmera τοῦ ho Χριστοῦ· of Christ is at christos

ὁ Who ho ἀντικείμενος opposeth antikeimai καὶ and kai ὑπεραιρόμενος exalteth himself hyperairomai ἐπὶ above epi πάντα all that pas λεγόμενον is called legō θεὸν God, theos ἢ or ē σέβασμα that is worshipped; sebasma ὥστε so that hōste αὐτὸν he autos εἰς in eis τὸν the ho ναὸν temple naos τοῦ ho θεοῦ of God, theos ὡς as hōs Θεὸν God theos καθίσαι sitteth kathizō ἀποδεικνύντα shewing apodeiknymi ἑαυτὸν himself heautou ὅτι that hoti ἔστιν he is esti θεός God. theos

οὗ whose hos ἐστιν is esti ἡ ho παρουσία coming parousia κατ' after kata ἐνέργειαν the working energeia τοῦ of ho Σατανᾶ Satan satanas ἐν with en πάσῃ all pas δυνάμει power dynamis καὶ and kai σημείοις signs sēmeion καὶ and kai τέρασιν wonders, teras ψεύδους lying pseudos

ἵνα That hina κριθῶσιν they might be damned krinō πάντες all pas οἱ ho μὴ not mē πιστεύσαντες who believed pisteuō τῇ the ho ἀληθείᾳ truth, alētheia ἀλλ' but alla εὐδοκήσαντες had pleasure eudokeō ἐν in en τῇ ho ἀδικίᾳ unrighteousness. adikia

ἄρα Therefore, ara οὖν oun ἀδελφοί brethren, adelphos στήκετε stand fast, stēkō καὶ and kai κρατεῖτε hold krateō τὰς the ho παραδόσεις traditions paradosis ἃς which hos ἐδιδάχθητε ye have been taught, didaskō εἴτε whether eite διὰ by dia λόγου word, logos εἴτε or eite δι' dia ἐπιστολῆς epistle. epistolē ἡμῶν our hēmōn

Αὐτὸς himself, autos δὲ Now de ὁ ho κύριος Lord kyrios ἡμῶν our hēmōn Ἰησοῦς Jesus iēsous Χριστὸς Christ christos καὶ and kai ὁ ho θεὸς God, theos καὶ even kai πατὴρ Father, patēr ἡμῶν our hēmōn ὁ ho ἀγαπήσας which hath loved agapaō ἡμᾶς us, hēmas καὶ and kai δοὺς hath given didōmi παράκλησιν consolation paraklēsis αἰωνίαν everlasting aiōnios καὶ and kai ἐλπίδα hope elpis ἀγαθὴν good agathos ἐν through en χάριτι grace, charis

παρακαλέσαι Comfort parakaleō ὑμῶν your hymōn τὰς ho καρδίας hearts, kardia καὶ and kai στηρίξαι stablish stērizō ὑμᾶς you hymas ἐν in en παντὶ every pas λόγῳ word logos καὶ and kai ἔργῳ work. ergon ἀγαθῷ good agathos
