וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said, ʾāmar דָּוִ֔ד And David dāwid הֲכִ֣י kî יֶשׁ Is yēš ע֔וֹד there yet ʿôd אֲשֶׁ֥ר any ʾăšer נוֹתַ֖ר that is left yātar לְבֵ֣ית of the house bayit שָׁא֑וּל of Saul, šāʾûl וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֤ה that I may shew ʿāśâ עִמּוֹ֙ ʿim חֶ֔סֶד him kindness ḥēsēd בַּֽעֲב֖וּר sake? ʿābûr יְהֽוֹנָתָֽן׃ for Jonathan's yĕhônātān

וּלְבֵ֨ית And of the house bayit שָׁא֥וּל of Saul šāʾûl עֶ֙בֶד֙ a servant ʿebed וּשְׁמ֣וֹ whose name šēm צִיבָ֔א Ziba. ṣîbāʾ וַיִּקְרְאוּ And when they had called qārāʾ ל֖וֹ אֶל him unto ʾēl דָּוִ֑ד David, dāwid וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said ʾāmar הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ the king melek אֵלָ֛יו unto ʾēl הַֽאַתָּ֥ה him, thou ʾattâ צִיבָ֖א Ziba? ṣîbāʾ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר And he said, ʾāmar עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ Thy servant ʿebed

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said, ʾāmar הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ And the king melek הַאֶ֨פֶס there not ʾepes ע֥וֹד yet ʿôd אִישׁ֙ any ʾîš לְבֵ֣ית of the house bayit שָׁא֔וּל of Saul, šāʾûl וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה that I may shew ʿāśâ עִמּ֖וֹ unto ʿim חֶ֣סֶד the kindness ḥēsēd אֱלֹהִ֑ים of God ʾĕlōhîm וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said ʾāmar צִיבָא֙ him? And Ziba ṣîbāʾ אֶל unto ʾēl הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king, melek ע֛וֹד hath yet ʿôd בֵּ֥ן a son, bēn לִיהֽוֹנָתָ֖ן Jonathan yĕhônātān נְכֵ֥ה lame nāke רַגְלָֽיִם׃ on feet. regel

וַיֹּֽאמֶר said ʾāmar ל֥וֹ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ And the king melek אֵיפֹ֣ה unto him, Where ʾêpō ה֑וּא he? hûʾ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said ʾāmar צִיבָא֙ And Ziba ṣîbāʾ אֶל unto ʾēl הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king, melek הִנֵּה Behold, hinnē ה֗וּא he hûʾ בֵּ֛ית in the house bayit מָכִ֥יר of Machir, mākîr בֶּן the son bēn עַמִּיאֵ֖ל of Ammiel, ʿammîʾēl בְּל֥וֹ דְבָֽר׃ in Lo-debar. lōʾ dĕbar

וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח sent, šālaḥ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ Then king melek דָּוִ֑ד David dāwid וַיִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ and fetched lāqaḥ מִבֵּ֛ית him out of the house bayit מָכִ֥יר of Machir, mākîr בֶּן the son bēn עַמִּיאֵ֖ל of Ammiel, ʿammîʾēl מִלּ֥וֹ דְבָֽר׃ from Lo-debar. lōʾ dĕbar

וַ֠יָּבֹא was come bôʾ מְפִיבֹ֨שֶׁת Now when Mephibosheth, mĕpîbōšet בֶּן the son bēn יְהֽוֹנָתָ֤ן of Jonathan, yĕhônātān בֶּן the son bēn שָׁאוּל֙ of Saul, šāʾûl אֶל unto ʾēl דָּוִ֔ד David, dāwid וַיִּפֹּ֥ל he fell nāpal עַל on ʿal פָּנָ֖יו his face, pānîm וַיִּשְׁתָּ֑חוּ and did reverence. šāḥâ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said, ʾāmar דָּוִד֙ And David dāwid מְפִיבֹ֔שֶׁת Mephibosheth. mĕpîbōšet וַיֹּ֖אמֶר And he answered, ʾāmar הִנֵּ֥ה Behold hinnē עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ thy servant! ʿebed

וַיֹּאמֶר֩ said ʾāmar ל֨וֹ דָוִ֜ד And David dāwid אַל not: ʾal תִּירָ֗א unto him, Fear yārēʾ כִּ֣י for kî עָשֹׂה֩ I will surely ʿāśâ אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֨ה shew ʿāśâ עִמְּךָ֥ ʿim חֶ֙סֶד֙ thee kindness ḥēsēd בַּֽעֲבוּר֙ sake, ʿābûr יְהֽוֹנָתָ֣ן for Jonathan yĕhônātān אָבִ֔יךָ thy father's ʾāb וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִ֣י and will restore šûb לְךָ֔ אֶֽת thee ʾēt כָּל all kōl שְׂדֵ֖ה the land śāde שָׁא֣וּל of Saul šāʾûl אָבִ֑יךָ thy father; ʾāb וְאַתָּ֗ה and thou ʾattâ תֹּ֥אכַל shalt eat ʾākal לֶ֛חֶם bread leḥem עַל at ʿal שֻׁלְחָנִ֖י my table šulḥān תָּמִֽיד׃ continually. tāmîd

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֕חוּ And he bowed himself, šāḥâ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר and said, ʾāmar מֶ֣ה What mâ עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ thy servant, ʿebed כִּ֣י that kî פָנִ֔יתָ thou shouldest look pānâ אֶל upon ʾēl הַכֶּ֥לֶב dog keleb הַמֵּ֖ת a dead mût אֲשֶׁ֥ר such ʾăšer כָּמֽוֹנִי׃ as I kĕmô

וַיִּקְרָ֣א called qārāʾ הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ Then the king melek אֶל to ʾēl צִיבָ֛א Ziba, ṣîbāʾ נַ֥עַר servant, naʿar שָׁא֖וּל Saul's šāʾûl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said ʾāmar אֵלָ֑יו unto ʾēl כֹּל֩ all kōl אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer הָיָ֤ה pertained hāyâ לְשָׁאוּל֙ to Saul šāʾûl וּלְכָל and to all kōl בֵּית֔וֹ his house. bayit נָתַ֖תִּי him, I have given nātan לְבֶן son bēn אֲדֹנֶֽיךָ׃ unto thy master's ʾādôn

וְעָבַ֣דְתָּ shall till ʿābad לּ֣וֹ אֶֽת ʾēt הָאֲדָמָ֡ה the land ʾădāmâ אַתָּה֩ Thou ʾattâ וּבָנֶ֨יךָ therefore, and thy sons, bēn וַֽעֲבָדֶ֜יךָ and thy servants, ʿebed וְהֵבֵ֗אתָ for him, and thou shalt bring bôʾ וְהָיָ֨ה may have hāyâ לְבֶן son bēn אֲדֹנֶ֤יךָ in that thy master's ʾādôn לֶּ֙חֶם֙ food leḥem וַֽאֲכָל֔וֹ to eat: ʾākal וּמְפִיבֹ֙שֶׁת֙ but Mephibosheth mĕpîbōšet בֶּן son bēn אֲדֹנֶ֔יךָ thy master's ʾādôn יֹאכַ֥ל shall eat ʾākal תָּמִ֛יד alway tāmîd לֶ֖חֶם bread leḥem עַל at ʿal שֻׁלְחָנִ֑י my table. šulḥān וּלְצִיבָ֗א Now Ziba ṣîbāʾ חֲמִשָּׁ֥ה had fifteen ḥāmēš עָשָׂ֛ר ʿāśār בָּנִ֖ים sons bēn וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים and twenty ʿeśrîm עֲבָדִֽים׃ servants. ʿebed

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר Then said ʾāmar צִיבָא֙ Ziba ṣîbāʾ אֶל unto ʾēl הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king, melek כְּכֹל֩ According to all kōl אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer יְצַוֶּ֜ה hath commanded ṣāwâ אֲדֹנִ֤י my lord ʾādôn הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king melek אֶת ʾēt עַבְדּ֔וֹ his servant, ʿebed כֵּ֖ן so kēn יַֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה do. ʿāśâ עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ shall thy servant ʿebed וּמְפִיבֹ֗שֶׁת As for Mephibosheth, mĕpîbōšet אֹכֵל֙ he shall eat ʾākal עַל at ʿal שֻׁלְחָנִ֔י my table, šulḥān כְּאַחַ֖ד as one ʾeḥād מִבְּנֵ֥י sons. bēn הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ of the king's melek

וְלִמְפִיבֹ֥שֶׁת And Mephibosheth mĕpîbōšet בֵּן son, bēn קָטָ֖ן had a young qāṭān וּשְׁמ֣וֹ whose name šēm מִיכָ֑א Micha. mîkāʾ וְכֹל֙ And all kōl מוֹשַׁ֣ב that dwelt môšāb בֵּית in the house bayit צִיבָ֔א of Ziba ṣîbāʾ עֲבָדִ֖ים servants ʿebed לִמְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃ unto Mephibosheth. mĕpîbōšet

וּמְפִיבֹ֗שֶׁת So Mephibosheth mĕpîbōšet יֹשֵׁב֙ dwelt yāšab בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם in Jerusalem: yĕrûšālaim כִּ֣י for kî עַל at ʿal שֻׁלְחַ֥ן table; šulḥān הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king's melek תָּמִ֖יד continually tāmîd ה֣וּא he hûʾ אֹכֵ֑ל did eat ʾākal וְה֥וּא hûʾ פִּסֵּ֖חַ and was lame pissēaḥ שְׁתֵּ֥י on both šĕnayim רַגְלָֽיו׃ his feet. regel
