“அரசன் கோபமடையக்கூடும், ‘யோவாபின் படை போரிடுவதற்கு நகரை மிகவும் நெருங்கியதேன்?’ என்று அரசன் கேட்கக் கூடும். அம்புகளை எய்யக்கூடிய ஆட்கள் நகர மதில்களில் அமர்ந்திருப்பார்கள் என்பது அவனுக்கு நிச்சயமாகத் தெரியும்.

and he say	וְאָמַ֣ר	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
	לְךָ֔
unto thee, Wherefore	מַדּ֛וּעַ	maddûaʿ	ma-DOO-ah
approached ye so nigh	נִגַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם	nāgaš	na-ɡAHSH
unto	אֶל	ʾēl	ale
the city	הָעִ֖יר	ʿîr	eer
when ye did fight?	לְהִלָּחֵ֑ם	lāḥam	la-HAHM
ye not	הֲל֣וֹא	lōʾ	loh
knew	יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם	yādaʿ	ya-DA
	אֵ֥ת	ʾēt	ate
that	אֲשֶׁר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
they would shoot	יֹר֖וּ	yārâ	ya-RA
from	מֵעַ֥ל	ʿal	al
