ஆதலால் நான் உங்களுக்கு அப்படி எழுதியிருந்தும், அநியாயஞ்செய்தவனிமித்தமுமல்ல, அநியாயஞ்செய்யப்படவனிமித்தமுமல்ல, தேவனுக்குமுன்பாக உங்களைக்குறித்து எங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற ஜாக்கிரதை உங்களுக்கு வெளிப்படும்பொருட்டே அப்படி எழுதினேன்.

எனவே, நான் உங்களுக்கு அப்படி எழுதியிருந்தும், அநியாயம் செய்தவனாலும் இல்லை, அநியாயம் செய்யப்பட்டவனாலும் இல்லை, தேவனுக்குமுன்பாக உங்களைக்குறித்து எங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற வாஞ்சையை உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துவதற்காகவே அப்படி எழுதினேன்.

நான் உங்களுக்கு நிருபம் எழுதியதின் காரணம் ஒருவன் தவறு இழைத்துவிட்டான் என்பதாலல்ல, அதேபோல ஒருவன் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டான் என்பதாலும் உங்களுக்கு நிருபம் எழுதவில்லை. தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்காக நாங்கள் கொண்டுள்ள அக்கறையை நீங்கள் காணும்பொருட்டே அப்படி எழுதினேன். இதனால்தான் நாங்கள் ஆறுதலடைந்தோம்.

Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.

So although I wrote unto you, I `wrote' not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be made manifest unto you in the sight of God.
