அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடிருந்த அறுநூறுபேரும் போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் பேசோர் ஆற்றண்டைக்கு வந்த போது அங்கே சிலர் நின்றுபோனார்கள்.

தாவீது தன்னோடு 600 வீரர்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு பேசோர் ஆற்றருகே வந்தான். அங்கு 200 பேர்த் தங்கிவிட்டனர். காரணம் அவர்கள் மிகவும் பலவீனமாக இருந்தனர். அமலேக்கியரைத் துரத்திக் கொண்டு தாவீது 400 பேரோடு கிளம்பினான்.
