அந்நேரத்திலே இஸ்ரவேலர்: வந்து நிற்கிற அந்த மனுஷனைக் கண்டீர்களா, இஸ்ரவேலை நிந்திக்க வந்து நிற்கிறான்; இவனைக் கொல்லுகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனை ராஜா மிகவும் ஐசுவரியவானாக்கி, அவனுக்குத் தம்முடைய குமாரத்தியைத் தந்து, அவன் தகப்பன் வீட்டாருக்கு இஸ்ரவேலிலே சர்வமானியம் கொடுப்பார் என்றார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேலர், “கோலியாத் வெளியில் வந்து இஸ்ரவேலரை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் கேலிக்குள்ளாக்கினதைப் பார்த்தீர்களா! அவனை யார் கொன்றாலும் சவுல் அரசன் அவனுக்கு நிறையப் பணம் கொடுத்து, தனது மகளை அவனுக்கு மணம் செய்து கொடுப்பான். சவுல் அவனது குடும்பத்திற்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் மத்தியில் சுதந்திரம் அளிப்பான்” என்றார்கள்.

“இதோ நிற்கிற இம்மனிதனைப் பார்த்தீர்களா? இஸ்ரயேலை உண்மையாகவே இழிவுப்படுத்த இவன் வந்துள்ளான்! இவனைக் கொல்பவனுக்கு அரசர் மிகுந்த செல்வம் அளித்துத் தம் மகளையும் மணம் முடித்துக் கொடுப்பார். அத்துடன் இஸ்ரயேலரிடையே அவன் தந்தை வீட்டாருக்கு மட்டும் வரிவிலக்குச் செய்வார்” என்று இஸ்ரயேலர் தங்களுக்குள் பேசிக் கொண்டனர்.

Annaeraththilae isravaelar: vanthu nirkira antha manushanaik kannteerkalaa, isravaelai ninthikka vanthu nirkiraan; ivanaik kollukiravan evano, avanai raajaa mikavum aisuvariyavaanaakki, avanukkuth thammutaiya kumaaraththiyaith thanthu, avan thakappan veettarukku isravaelilae sarvamaaniyam koduppaar entarkal.
