தாவீது என்பவன் யூதாவிலுள்ள பெத்லெகேம் ஊரானாகிய ஈசாய் என்னும் பேருள்ள எப்பிராத்திய மனுஷனுடைய குமாரனாயிருந்தான்; ஈசாயுக்கு எட்டுக்குமாரர் இருந்தார்கள்; இவன் சவுலின் நாட்களிலே மற்ற ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே வயதுசென்ற கிழவனாய் மதிக்கப்பட்டான்.
