இதோ, சவுல் மாடுகளின் பின்னாலே வயலிலிருந்து வந்து, ஜனங்கள் அழுகிற முகாந்தரம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்; யாபேசின் மனுஷர் சொல்லிய செய்திகளை அவனுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

அச்சமயம் சவுல் தன் பசுக்களோடு வயல் வெளியில் இருந்தான். அவன் உள்ளே வந்தபோது அவர்களின் கூக்குரலைக் கேட்டான். அவன் அவர்களிடம், “ஏன் அழுகிறீர்கள்? உங்களுக்கு என்ன நடந்தது?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவர்கள் யாபேஸில் இருந்து வந்த தூதுவர்கள் சொன்ன செய்தியைச் சொன்னார்கள்.

அப்போது சவுல் வயலினின்று மாடுகளை ஓட்டிக் கொண்டு வந்தார். “மக்களுக்கு என்ன நேரிட்டது? அவர்கள் ஏன் அழுகிறார்கள்?” என்று சவுல் கேட்டார். யாபேசின் ஆள்கள் சொன்னதை அவரிடம் சொன்னார்கள்.⒫

that כִּ֣י kî kee
they weep? יִבְכּ֑וּ bākâ ba-HA
And they told וַיְסַ֨פְּרוּ sāpar sa-FAHR
