அதற்குள்ளே யோவாப் அம்மோன் புத்திரருடைய ரப்பா பட்டணத்தின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, ராஜதானியைப் பிடித்து,

And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.

தாவீதினிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி, நான் ரப்பாவின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, தண்ணீர் ஓரமான பட்டணத்தைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டேன்.

And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.

நான் பட்டணத்தைப் பிடிக்கிறதினால், என் பேர் வழங்காதபடிக்கு, நீர் மற்ற ஜனங்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, பட்டணத்தை முற்றிக்கைபோட்டு, பிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

Now therefore gather the rest of the people together, and encamp against the city, and take it: lest I take the city, and it be called after my name.

2 Samuel 12:29

அப்படியே தாவீது ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, ரப்பாவுக்குப்போய், அதின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, அதைப் பிடித்தான்.

And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it.

2 Samuel 12:30

அவர்களுடைய ராஜாவின் தலைமேலிருந்த கிரீடத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; அது ஒரு தாலந்து நிறைபொன்னும், இரத்தினங்கள் பதித்ததுமாயிருந்தது; அது தாவீதினுடைய தலையில் வைக்கப்பட்டது; பட்டணத்திலிருந்து ஏராளமான கொள்ளையைக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.

2 Samuel 12:31

பின்பு அதிலிருந்த ஜனங்களை அவன் வெளியே கொண்டுபோய் அவர்களை வாள்களுக்கும், இருப்புப் பாரைகளுக்கும், இருப்புக் கோடரிகளுக்கும் உட்படுத்தி, அவர்களைச் செங்கற்சூளையையும் கடக்கப்பண்ணினான்; இப்படி அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் பட்டணங்களுக்கெல்லாம் செய்து, தாவீது எல்லா ஜனத்தோடுங்கூட எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பினான்.

And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
