Proverbs 17 - ASV (Telugu)

1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, Than a house full of feasting with strife.రుచియైన భోజన పదార్థములున్నను కలహముతో కూడియుండిన ఇంటనుండుటకంటె నెమ్మది కలిగియుండి వట్టి రొట్టెముక్క తినుట మేలు.

2 A servant that dealeth wisely shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, And shall have part in the inheritance among the brethren.బుద్ధిగల దాసుడు సిగ్గుతెచ్చు కుమారునిమీద ఏలుబడి చేయును అన్నదమ్ములతోపాటు వాడు పిత్రార్జితము పంచు కొనును.

3 The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; But Jehovah trieth the hearts.వెండికి మూస తగినది, బంగారునకు కొలిమి తగినది హృదయ పరిశోధకుడు యెహోవాయే.

4 An evil-doer giveth heed to wicked lips; `And' a liar giveth ear to a mischievous tongue.చెడునడవడి గలవాడు దోషపు మాటలు వినును నాలుక హానికరమైన మాటలు పలుకుచుండగా అబద్ధి కుడు చెవియొగ్గును.

5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker; `And' he that is glad at calamity shall not be unpunished.బీదలను వెక్కిరించువాడు వారి సృష్టికర్తను నిందించు వాడు. ఆపదను చూచి సంతోషించువాడు నిర్దోషిగా ఎంచ బడడు.

6 Children's children are the crown of old men; And the glory of children are their fathers.కుమారుల కుమారులు వృద్ధులకు కిరీటము తండ్రులే కుమారులకు అలంకారము.

7 Excellent speech becometh not a fool; Much less do lying lips a prince.అహంకారముగా మాటలాడుట బుద్ధిలేనివానికి తగదు అబద్ధమాడుట అధిపతికి బొత్తిగా తగదు.

8 A bribe is `as' a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it; Whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.లంచము దృష్టికి మాణిక్యమువలె నుండును అట్టివాడు ఏమి చేసినను దానిలో యుక్తిగా ప్రవ ర్తించును.

9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; But he that harpeth on a matter separateth chief friends.ప్రేమను వృద్ధిచేయగోరువాడు తప్పితములు దాచి పెట్టును. జరిగిన సంగతి మాటిమాటికి ఎత్తువాడు మిత్రభేదము చేయును.

10 A rebuke entereth deeper into one that hath understanding Than a hundred stripes into a fool.బుద్ధిహీనునికి నూరుదెబ్బలు నాటునంతకంటె బుద్ధిమంతునికి ఒక గద్దింపుమాట లోతుగా నాటును.

11 An evil man seeketh only rebellion; Therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.తిరుగుబాటు చేయువాడు కీడుచేయుటకే కోరును అట్టివానివెంట క్రూరదూత పంపబడును.

12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, Rather than a fool in his folly.పిల్లలను పోగొట్టుకొనిన యెలుగుబంటిని ఎదుర్కొన వచ్చును గాని మూర్ఖపుపనులు చేయుచున్న మూర్ఖుని ఎదుర్కొన రాదు

13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, Evil shall not depart from his house.మేలుకు ప్రతిగా కీడు చేయువాని యింటనుండి కీడు తొలగిపోదు.

14 The beginning of strife is `as' when one letteth out water: Therefore leave off contention, before there is quarrelling.కలహారంభము నీటిగట్టున పుట్టు ఊట వివాదము అధికము కాకమునుపే దాని విడిచిపెట్టుము. దుష్టులు నిర్దోషులని తీర్పు తీర్చువాడు

15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the righteous, Both of them alike are an abomination to Jehovah.నీతిమంతులు దోషులని తీర్పు తీర్చువాడు వీరిద్దరును యెహోవాకు హేయులు.

16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, Seeing he hath no understanding?బుద్ధిహీనుని చేతిలో జ్ఞానము సంపాదించుటకు సొమ్ముండ నేల? వానికి బుద్ధి లేదు గదా?

17 A friend loveth at all times; And a brother is born for adversity.నిజమైన స్నేహితుడు విడువక ప్రేమించును దుర్దశలో అట్టివాడు సహోదరుడుగా నుండును.

18 A man void of understanding striketh hands, And becometh surety in the presence of his neighbor.తన పొరుగువానికి జామీను ఉండి పూటపడువాడు తెలివిమాలినవాడు.

19 He loveth transgression that loveth strife: He that raiseth high his gate seeketh destruction.కలహప్రియుడు దుర్మార్గప్రియుడు తన వాకిండ్లు ఎత్తుచేయువాడు నాశనము వెదకువాడు.

20 He that hath a wayward heart findeth no good; And he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.కుటిలవర్తనుడు మేలుపొందడు మూర్ఖముగా మాటలాడువాడు కీడులో పడును.

21 He that begetteth a fool `doeth it' to his sorrow; And the father of a fool hath no joy.బుద్ధిహీనుని కనినవానికి వ్యసనము కలుగును తెలివిలేనివాని తండ్రికి సంతోషము లేదు.

22 A cheerful heart is a good medicine; But a broken spirit drieth up the bones.సంతోషముగల మనస్సు ఆరోగ్యకారణము. నలిగిన మనస్సు ఎముకలను ఎండిపోజేయును.

23 A wicked man receiveth a bribe out of the bosom, To pervert the ways of justice.న్యాయవిధులను చెరుపుటకై దుష్టుడు ఒడిలోనుండి లంచము పుచ్చుకొనును.

24 Wisdom is before the face of him that hath understanding; But the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.జ్ఞానము వివేకముగలవాని యెదుటనే యున్నది బుద్ధిహీనువి కన్నులు భూదిగంతములలో ఉండును.

25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, And bitterness to her that bare him.బుద్ధిహీనుడగు కుమారుడు తన తండ్రికి దుఃఖము తెచ్చును తన్ను కనినదానికి అట్టివాడు బాధ కలుగజేయును

26 Also to punish the righteous is not good, `Nor' to smite the noble for `their' uprightness.నీతిమంతులను దండించుట న్యాయము కాదు అది వారి యథార్థతనుబట్టి మంచివారిని హతము చేయుటే.

27 He that spareth his words hath knowledge; And he that is of a cool spirit is a man of understanding.మితముగా మాటలాడువాడు తెలివిగలవాడు శాంతగుణముగలవాడు వివేకముగలవాడు.

28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise; When he shutteth his lips, he is `esteemed as' prudent.ఒకడు మూఢుడైనను మౌనముగా నుండినయెడల జ్ఞాని అని యెంచబడును అట్టివాడు పెదవులు మూసికొనగా వాడు వివేకి అని యెంచబడును.
