Proverbs 6 - ASV (Punjabi)

1 My son, if thou art become surety for thy neighbor, If thou hast stricken thy hands for a stranger;ਕਰਜੇ ਦੇ ਖੱਤਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੇਟੇ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਨਾ ਚੁੱਕੋ। ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਮੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਵਾਇਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਹੱਥ ਹਿਲਾਵੋਂ।

2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, Thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸ ਗਏ ਹੋਂ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਅਟਕ ਗਏ ਹੋਂ।

3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, Seeing thou art come into the hand of thy neighbor: Go, humble thyself, and importune thy neighbor;ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈਂ: ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ: ਜਾ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਜੋਈ ਕਰ।

4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids;ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਣ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੋ, ਆਪਣੇ ਝਿਮਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਚਣ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ।

5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand `of the hunter', And as a bird from the hand of the fowler.ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਿਰਨ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਪੰਛੀ ਫ਼ਸਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਪਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; Consider her ways, and be wise:ਸੁਸਤ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਖਤਰੇ ਤੂੰ, ਸੁਸਤ ਬੰਦੇ, ਕੀੜੀ ਵੱਲ ਤੱਕ, ਵੇਖ ਇਹ ਕਿੰਝ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।

7 Which having no chief, Overseer, or ruler,ਕੀੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਾਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਆਗੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

8 Provideth her bread in the summer, And gathereth her food in the harvest.ਤਾਂ ਵੀ, ਇਹ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਢੀ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?ਸੁਸਤ ਬੰਦਿਆ, ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕੁ ਚਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਲੰਮਾ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ? ਕਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਗੇਂਗਾ?

10 `Yet' a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep:ਥੋੜੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਨੀਂਦ, ਥੋੜੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਝਪਕੀ, ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਆਰਾਮ,

11 So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man.ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਡਕੈਤ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਚੁਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।

12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth;ਬੁਰਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਜ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੀ, ਇੱਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ-ਬਾਤ ਅਵੱਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ।

13 That winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers;ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਝਮਕ ਕੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰ ਘਸਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਉਂਗਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਕਰੇ।

14 In whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.ਜੋ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਬਦ ਵਿਉਂਤਦਾ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜੋ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦਲੀਲਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਲਿਆਵੇ।

15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy.ਪਰ ਇਸਦੇ ਫ਼ਲਸਵਰੂਪ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਆ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਮੁੜ ਪਰਤਨ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ।

16 There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:ਸੱਤ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਛੇਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਰਫ਼ਤ ਕਰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੱਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਘ੍ਰਿਣਾਯੋਗ ਹਨ।

17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;ਘੁਮੰਡੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ, ਝੂਠੀ ਜੀਭ, ਹੱਥ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੇਕਸੂਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

18 A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief,ਦਿਲ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਗੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਦਾ, ਪੈਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੌੜਦੇ ਹਨ।

19 A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.ਇੱਕ ਝੂਠਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦੋ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਝਗੜਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

20 My son, keep the commandment of thy father, And forsake not the law of thy mother:ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ। ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵਿਸਾਰਨਾ।

21 Bind them continually upon thy heart; Tie them about thy neck.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੱਲੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲੈਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਤੇ ਉਕਰ ਲੈਣੀਆਂ।

22 When thou walkest, it shall lead thee; When thou sleepest, it shall watch over thee; And when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ, ਉੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਗੀਆਂ। ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਗੋਂਗੇ, ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਖਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ।

23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life:ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ, ਹੁਕਮ ਇੱਕ ਦੀਵੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ। ਸੁਧਾਰ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਹੈ।

24 To keep thee from the evil woman, From the flattery of the foreigner's tongue.ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਰੀ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਾਈ ਔਰਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

25 Lust not after her beauty in thy heart; Neither let her take thee with her eyelids.ਉਸਦੀ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੁਤਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੁਭਾਉਣ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ।

26 For on account of a harlot `a man is brought' to a piece of bread; And the adulteress hunteth for the precious life.ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਮਂਗੇਗੀ।

27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, And his clothes not be burned?ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੰਗਿਆਰ ਸੁੱਟੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵੀ ਸੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

28 Or can one walk upon hot coals, And his feet not be scorched?ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਮਘਦੇ ਕੋਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੈਰ ਧਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਸੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

29 So he that goeth in to his neighbor's wife; Whosoever toucheth her shall not be unpunished.ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੌਂਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੂੰਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚੇਗਾ।

30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal To satisfy himself when he is hungry:ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਭਰਨ ਲਈ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰੇ, ਲੋਕੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੱਤ ਗੁਣਾ ਵੱਧ ਜ਼ੁਰਮਾਨਾ ਭਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚਲਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਗਵਾਉਣਾ ਪਵੇ!

31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; He shall give all the substance of his house.

32 He that committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding: He doeth it who would destroy his own soul.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

33 Wounds and dishonor shall he get; And his reproach shall not be wiped away.ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਇਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਤਕਦੀਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਧੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਬਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

34 For jealousy is the rage of a man; And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਈਰਖਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਤਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

35 He will not regard any ransom; Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੁਆਵਜ਼ਾ ਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਕੀਮਤ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਵਡੇਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
