1 He said to them, "Most assuredly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of God come with power."ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ, ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਨਗੇ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਣ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਵੇਗਾ।”

2 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.ਯਿਸੂ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਛੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਚੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

3 His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੰਨੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਧੋਬੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਕਰਨ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ।

4 Elijah and Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.ਫ਼ਿਰ ਦੋ ਆਦਮੀ, ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

5 Peter answered Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let's make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੋਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਗਾਵਾਂਗੇ। ਇੱਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ, ਇੱਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਲਈ।”

6 For he didn't know what to say, for they were very afraid.ਪਤਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

7 A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him."ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਦਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਛਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਆਈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ।”

8 Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only.ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਸੀ।

9 As they were coming down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ। ਓੁਨੀ ਦੇਰ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰੋ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ।”

10 They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the "rising from the dead" meant.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ “ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ” ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ?

11 They asked him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਇਹ ਭਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਉਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ?”

12 He said to them, "Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਕਿ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਦਰੁਸਤ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਕੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਆਰੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਝੱਲੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮੰਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ?

13 But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him."ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਆ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਸਲੂਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚਾਹਿਆ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”

14 Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them.ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ, ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਬਾਕੀ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਿਰਦ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।

15 Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਕੇ ਬੜੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜੇ।

16 He asked the scribes, "What are you asking them?"ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?”

17 One of the multitude answered, "Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;ਭੀੜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

18 and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren't able."ਉਹ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ-ਆਤਮਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਟਕਾ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਚੋਂ ਝੱਗ ਵਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੰਦ ਕਰੀਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਕੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਉਂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਰਹੇ।”

19 He answered him, "Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me."ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਬੇਪਰਤੀਤ ਲੋਕੋ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ? ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਸਹਾਰਾਂਗਾ? ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਓ!”

20 They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਲੜਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ-ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਬਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੂੰਹੋ ਝੱਗ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੱਚਾ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਲੇਟ ਗਿਆ।

21 He asked his father, "How long has it been since this has come to him?" He said, "From childhood.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?” ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟਾ ਸੀ।

22 Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us."ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਕਸਰ ਅੱਗ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰ? ਸਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ।”

23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ।’ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ।”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, "I believe. Help my unbelief!"ਪਿਤਾ ਬੜਾ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ।”

25 When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, "You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!"ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਨੱਸੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ, ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਜਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਂ।”

26 Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, "He is dead."ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਾ ਚੀਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਆਇਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੰਜੇ ਡੇਗ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਬੱਚਾ ਮਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਸੀ। ਬੜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਖਲੋ ਗਿਆ।

28 When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we cast it out?"ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕਲੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਕੀ ਵਜਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ-ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢ ਸੱਕੇ?”

29 He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting."ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।”

30 They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He didn't want anyone to know it.ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਬਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹਨ।

31 For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again."ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਲਿਆਂ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ।”

32 But they didn't understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.ਪਰ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਡਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।

33 He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, "What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?"ਯਿਸੂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਕਿ ਕੌਣ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ?”

34 But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.ਪਰ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਬਹਿਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?

35 He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, "If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all."ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਹਾਨ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।”

36 He took a little child, and set him in the midst of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਛੜ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

37 "Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn't receive me, but him who sent me."“ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।”

38 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone who doesn't follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn't follow us."ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੂਤ ਕੱਢਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਧੜੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।”

39 But Jesus said, "Don't forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕੋ ਨਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਝੱਟ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੇਗਾ।

40 For whoever is not against us is on our side.ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਹੈ।

41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ's, most assuredly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਪੀਣ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ।

42 Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he was thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.ਯਿਸੂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਛੋਟਿਆਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਕੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੜ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਦ ਜਾਵੇ।

43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna,{Gehenna is a word for Hell that originated as the name for a place where live babies were thrown crying into the fire under the arms of the idol, Moloch, to die. This place was so despised by the people after the righteous King Josiah abolished this hideous practice, that not only was it made into a garbage heap, but dead bodies of diseased animals and executed criminals were thrown there and burned.} into the unquenchable fire,ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੱਥ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੋ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਟੁੰਡਾ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਦੋ ਹੱਥਾ ਨਾਲ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਜੋ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੀ।

44 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'

45 If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna, into the fire that will never be quenched--ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਇੱਕ ਪੈਰ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੋ। ਲੰਗੜਾ ਹੋਕੇ ਜਿਉਣਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਭਲਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਦੋ ਪੈਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਰਕ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੁਝਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।

46 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'

47 If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire,ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅੱਖ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਏ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੋ। ਇੱਕ ਅੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।

48 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਕੀੜੇ ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦੇ, ਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੀ।

49 For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.“ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."“ਲੂਣ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਲੂਣ ਆਪਣਾ ਲੂਣਾਪਨ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਬਾਰਾ ਨਮਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਰਹੋ।”
