John 13 - DBY (Punjabi)

1 Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them to the end.ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਸਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤ ਤੀਕ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

2 And during supper, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas [son] of Simon, Iscariote, that he should deliver him up,ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਰਾਤ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਇਸੱਕਰਿਯੋਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ।

3 [Jesus,] knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he came out from God and was going to God,ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕਾਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

4 rises from supper and lays aside his garments, and having taken a linen towel he girded himself:ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਠ ਖਲੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਚੋਗਾ ਥੱਲੇ ਲੰਮਾ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੌਲੀਆ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੱਕ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਲਪੇਟ ਲਿਆ।

5 then he pours water into the washhand basin, and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them with the linen towel with which he was girded.ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਤੌਲੀਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਪੂੰਝੇ।

6 He comes therefore to Simon Peter; and *he* says to him, Lord, dost thou wash *my* feet?ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਵੋਂਗੇ।”

7 Jesus answered and said to him, What I do thou dost not know now, but thou shalt know hereafter.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਝੇਂਗਾ।”

8 Peter says to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, Unless I wash thee, thou hast not part with me.ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਧੋਵੇਂਗਾ।” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਨਾ ਧੋਵਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ।”

9 Simon Peter says to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਹੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਵੀ ਧੋ ਦੇਵੋ।”

10 Jesus says to him, He that is washed all over needs not to wash save his feet, but is wholly clean; and ye are clean, but not all.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਧੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।”

11 For he knew him that delivered him up: on account of this he said, Ye are not all clean.ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੌਣ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖ਼ਿਆ: “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”

12 When therefore he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, having sat down again, he said to them, Do ye know what I have done to you?ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋ ਹਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਚੋਗਾ ਪਾਕੇ ਮੇਜ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਣ ਬੈਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?

13 Ye call me the Teacher and the Lord, and ye say well, for I am [so].ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ’ ਸੱਦਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਾਂ।

14 If I therefore, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet;ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੀ ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੀ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੈਰ ਇੱਕ ਸੇਵਕ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਤੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।

15 for I have given you an example that, as I have done to you, ye should do also.ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੋਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

16 Verily, verily, I say to you, The bondman is not greater than his lord, nor the sent greater than he who has sent him.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

17 If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ।

18 I speak not of you all. I know those whom I have chosen; but that the scripture might be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.“ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੋ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਖਾਧਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।’

19 I tell you [it] now before it happens, that when it happens, ye may believe that I am [he].ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਦੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ।

20 Verily, verily, I say to you, He who receives whomsoever I shall send receives me; and he that receives me receives him who has sent me.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਹੈ।”

21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, Verily, verily, I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਫ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”

22 The disciples therefore looked one on another, doubting of whom he spoke.ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਲਝਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਕਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

23 Now there was at table one of his disciples in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus loved.ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੇਲਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ।

24 Simon Peter makes a sign therefore to him to ask who it might be of whom he spoke.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ, ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲਈ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।

25 But he, leaning on the breast of Jesus, says to him, Lord, who is it?ਉਹ ਚੇਲਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਰੀਬ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਫ਼ੜਵਾਏਗਾ।”

26 Jesus answers, He it is to whom I, after I have dipped the morsel, give it. And having dipped the morsel, he gives it to Judas [son] of Simon, Iscariote.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਕਟੋਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਬੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਉਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਾਂ ਹੱਥੀ ਫ਼ੜਵਾਏਗਾ।” ਸੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਟੋਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਬੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਇਸੱਕਰਿਯੋਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

27 And, after the morsel, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore says to him, What thou doest, do quickly.ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ਛੇਤੀ ਕਰ।”

28 But none of those at table knew why he said this to him;ਮੇਚ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹੀ।

29 for some supposed, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus was saying to him, Buy the things of which we have need for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor.ਯਹੂਦਾ ਕੋਲ ਧਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

30 Having therefore received the morsel, he went out immediately; and it was night.ਤਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਰੋਟੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਝੱਟ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਸੀ।

31 When therefore he was gone out Jesus says, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

32 If God be glorified in him, God also shall glorify him in himself, and shall glorify him immediately.ਜੇਕਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”

33 Children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me; and, as I said to the Jews, Where I go ye cannot come, I say to you also now.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਿਓ, ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ। ਫੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭੋਂਗੇ, ਪਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।

34 A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.“ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ। ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

35 By this shall all know that ye are disciples of mine, if ye have love amongst yourselves.ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹੋ।”

36 Simon Peter says to him, Lord, where goest thou? Jesus answered him, Where I go thou canst not follow me now, but thou shalt follow me after.ਯਿਸੂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਪਤਰਸ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਗਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਪਰ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

37 Peter says to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee.ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਗਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਕਦਾ? ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ।”

38 Jesus answers, Thou wilt lay down thy life for me! Verily, verily, I say to thee, The cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice.ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ? ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਂ ਕੁੱਕੜ ਬਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
