அவர்கள் எஸ்கோல் பள்ளத்தாக்குமட்டும் போய், அத்தேசத்தைப் பார்த்துவந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திற்குப் போகாதபடிக்கு அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைத் திடனற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணினார்கள்.
