1 And when he came into Capernaum again after some days, the news went about that he was in the house.केही दिनपछि, येशू कफर्नहुममा र्फकनुभयो। येशू घरमा हुनु हुन्थ्यो भन्ने खबर सबैले थाहा पाए।

2 And a great number had come together, so that there was no longer room for them, no, not even about the door: and he gave them teaching.धेरै मानिसहरू येशूको शिक्षा सुन्न आए। घर खचाखच थियो। त्यहाँ भित्र ठाऊँ थिएन न त ढोका बाहिर नै उभिने ठाउँ थियो। येशू ती मानिसहरूलाई सिकाईरहनु भएको थियो।

3 And four men came to him with one on a bed who had no power of moving.केही मानिसहरूले पक्षाघाति रोगीलाई येशू कहाँ ल्याई पुर्याए। चारजना मानिसहरूले त्यो पक्षाघाती रोगीलाई बोकेका थिए।

4 And when they were unable to get near him because of all the people, they got the roof uncovered where he was: and when it was broken up, they let down the bed on which the man was.तर ती मानिसहरूले त्यो रोगीलाई येशूकहाँ ल्याउन सकेनन् किनभने त्यहाँ मानिसहरूको अत्यधिक भीड थियो। यसकारण ती मानिसहरू येशू भएको घरको छानामाथी चढे, तिनीहरूले त्यहाँ छानामा एउटा प्वाल पारेका थिए। त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले त्यो पक्षाघात रोगी सुतेको ओछ्यान् तलतिर झारे।

5 And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to him, Son, you have forgiveness for your sins.यशूले देख्नुभयो कि, ती मानिसहरूमा अत्याधिक विश्वास थियो। त्यसपछि येशूले ती पक्षाघातको रोगीलाई भन्नुभयो, “ए युवक, तिम्रा पापहरू क्षमा भएका छन्।”

6 But there were certain of the scribes seated there, and reasoning in their hearts,केही व्यवस्थाका शास्त्रीहरू त्यहीं बसिरहेका थिए, र तिनीहरूले येशूले गर्नुभएको कार्यकलाप देखे, अनि तिनीहरू स्वयं सोच्न लागे।

7 Why does this man say such things? he has no respect for God: from whom does forgiveness come but from God only?उहाँले किन यस्तो कुरा गर्नुहुन्छ? उहाँले यस्तो कुरा गरिरहनुभएको छ जो परमेश्वरको विरुद्धमा छ। केवल परमेश्वर मात्र पाप क्षमा गर्नसक्नु हुन्छ।

8 And Jesus, having knowledge in his spirit of their thoughts, said to them, Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?येशूले शास्त्रीहरूले आपसमा उहाँको बारेमा के-के कुरा सोचिरहेका थिए भन्ने थाहा पाऊनुभयो। अनि येशूले सोध्नु भयो, किन तिमीहरूको मनमा यस्तो प्रश्न उठिरहेको छ

9 Which is the simpler, to say to a man who is ill, You have forgiveness for your sins, or, Get up, take up your bed, and go?मानिसको पुत्रलाई पृथ्वीमा पाप क्षमा गर्ने अधिकार छ, तर म यो कसरी तिमीहरूलाई प्रमाण गर्नसक्छु!

10 But so that you may see that the Son of man has authority for the forgiveness of sins on earth, (he said to the man,)यो पक्षाघातीलाई के भन्नु सजिलो छ? तिम्रा पापहरू क्षमा गरिएको छ, भन्नु वा, उठ आफ्नो बिछ्यौना बोक अनि हिंडिहाल भन्नु? तर म तिमीहरूलाई अब देखाउनेछु कि पापहरू क्षमागर्ने मेरो अधिकार छ भनी।” यसो भनेर येशूले त्यो पक्षाघाती लाई भन्नुभयो,

11 I say to you, Get up, take up your bed, and go to your house.“म तिमीलाई भन्दछु उठ, आफ्नो विछ्‌यौना बोक अनि घर जाऊ।

12 And he got up, and straight away took up the bed and went out before them all, so that they were all full of wonder, and gave glory to God, saying, We have never seen anything like this.त्यो पक्षाघातको रोगी जुरूक्क उठयो। उसले आफ्नो बिछ्‌यौना उठायो अनि कोठादेखि बाहिरियो। सबै मानिसहरूले देख्न सके, सबै मानिसहरू छक्क परे, अनि परमेश्वरको प्रशंसा गर्न लागे। तिनीहरूले भने, हामीले यस्तो चमत्कार कहिल्यै देखेका थिएनौं।

13 And he went out again by the seaside; and all the people came to him, and he gave them teaching.येशू फेरी समुद्रतिर जानुभयो, र धेरै मानिसहरूले उहाँलाई पछ्याउन थाले, अनि येशूले तिनीहरूलाई शिक्षा दिनुभयो।

14 And when he went by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, seated at the place where taxes were taken, and he said to him, Come with me. And he got up, and went with him.येशू तालतिर जानु हुँदै थियो, उहाँले अल्फयसको छोरो लेवीलाई देख्नुभयो; लेवी कर-कार्यलयमा बसिरहेको थियो। येशूले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिमी म संग हिंड।” लेवी जुरूक्कै उठ्‌यो, र येशूलाई पछ्याउन लाग्यो।

15 And it came about that he was seated at meat in his house, and a number of tax-farmers and sinners were at table with Jesus and his disciples: for there were a great number of them, and they came after him.त्यस दिन, येशूले लेवीको घरमा नै खाना खानुभयो। त्यहाँ धेरै कर-उठाउनेहरू, पापीहरू येशू अनि उहाँका चेलाहरूसित खाना खाइरहेका थिए। त्यहाँ धेरै मनिसहरू थिए जसले येशूलाई पछ्याउन लागेका थिए।

16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was taking food with the tax-farmers and sinners, said to his disciples, Why does he take food and drink with such men?केही शास्त्रीहरूले (तिनीहरू फरिसीहरू थिए) येशूलाई पापीहरू र कर उठाउने हरूसंग खाना खाइरहेका देखे। तिनीहरूले येशूको चेलाहहरूलाई भने, “किन उहाँले कर उठाउनेहरू र पापीहरू संग खाना खानु भएको हौ?”

17 And Jesus, hearing it, said to them, Those who are well have no need of a medical man, but those who are ill: I have come not to get the upright but sinners.येशूले यी कुरा सुन्नु भयो, अनि उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “निरोगीहरूलाई वैद्यको आवशयकता पर्दैन, रोगी मानिसहरूलाई नै वैद्यको आवश्यकता पर्छ, र म धार्मिकहरूलाई बोलाउन यहाँ आएको होईन, तर म पापीहरूलाई बोलाउन यहाँ आएको हुँ।

18 And John's disciples and the Pharisees were taking no food: and they came and said to him, Why do John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees go without food, but your disciples do not?यूहन्नाका चेलाहरू, र फरिसीहरू उपवास बसेका थिए, केही मानिसहरू येशूकहाँ आए अनि भन्न लागे, “यूहन्नाका चेलाहरू उपवास बसेका छन् अनि फरिसीहरूका चेलाहरू पनि उपवास बसेका छन् तर तपाईका चेलाहरू किन उपवास बस्दैनन्?”

19 And Jesus said to them, Will the friends of a newly-married man go without food while he is with them? as long as they have him with them they will not go without food.येशूले जवाफ दिनुभयो, जब कुनै विवाह हुन्छ, दुलहाका अतिथिहरू तिनीहरूलाई दुलहा तिनीहरूको साथ रहुन्जेलसम्म उपवास बस्ने कारण छैन। उनी तिनीहरूकोसाथमा भएसम्म त्यहाँ उपवास हुन सक्तैन।

20 But the days will come when the husband will be taken away from them, and then they will go without food.तर समय आउनेछ जब दुलहालाई तिनीहरूबाट अलग लगिन्छ, त्यसबेला तिनीहरूले उपवास लिन्छन्।

21 No man puts a bit of new cloth on an old coat: or the new, by pulling away from the old, makes a worse hole.कसैले पनि पुरानो वस्त्रमा नयाँ कपडाको टुक्रा टाल्दैन। यदि उसले त्यसो गरे त्यो टालो खुम्चिनेछ अनि वस्त्रबाट निस्कने छ। तब प्वाल अझ ठूलो हुनेछ।

22 And no man puts new wine into old wine-skins: or the skins will be burst by the wine, and the wine and the skins will be wasted: but new wine has to be put into new wine-skins.त्यसरी नै, कसैले पनि नयाँ दाखरस पुरानो दाखरसको मसकमा खन्याउन चाहँदैन, किन? किनभने नयाँ दाखरसले त्यो मसक नै फुटाउँछ, अनि दाखरस र दाखरसको मसकहरू दुवै नष्ट हुन्छ, यसर्थ मानिसहरूले नयाँ दाखरस नयाँ मसकमा भर्न मन पराउँछन्।

23 And it came about that on the Sabbath day he was going through the grain-fields; and while they were walking, his disciples took the heads of grain.विश्रामको दिनमा, येशू आफ्ना चेलाहरूसंगै अन्नका खेतहरू भएर जाँदै हुनुहुन्थ्यो, चेलाहरूले हिंडदै गर्दा अन्नका बालाहरू टिप्न लागे।

24 And the Pharisees said to him, Why are they doing what it is not right to do on the Sabbath?फरिसीहरूले यो देखेर येशूलाई भने, तपाईंले देख्नु भयो, तपाईका चेलाहरूले के गरिरहेकाछन् विश्रामको दिनमा यसो गर्नु व्यवस्थाको विरूद्ध हो।

25 And he said to them, Have you no knowledge of what David did, when he had need and was without food, he, and those who were with him?येशूले भन्नुभयो, तिमीहरूले कहिल्यै पढेका छैनौ, कि जब दाऊद अनि उनका साथीहरू भोकाएका थिए, अनि खानेकुरा चाहन्थे, त्यस बेला दाऊदले के गरे

26 How he went into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest, and took for food the holy bread, which only the priests may take, and gave it to those who were with him?यस्तो घटना प्रधान पूजाहारी अबियाथाको समयमा भएको थियो। दाऊदले, परमेश्वरको भवनमा पसेर परमेश्वरलाई चढाइएको रोटी खाएका थिए। अनि मोशाको व्यवस्था अनुसार खालि पूजाहारी हरूले रोटी खान सक्छन् दाऊदले आफ्नो साथमा भएका सबै मानिसहरूलाई पनि केही रोटीहरू दिए।

27 And he said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath;त्यसपछि येशूले फरिसीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, विश्रामको दिन मानिसहरूलाई सहयोग गर्नु भनेर नै शुरू भएको हो। विश्राम दिनको नियमहरू पालन गनैर्पर्छ भनेर मानिसहरू बनेको होइन।

28 So that the Son of man is lord even of the Sabbath.यसैले मानिसको पुत्र नै शावाथ दिनको पनि प्रभु हो।
