വീഥികളിൽ ബാലനും വൃദ്ധനും നിലത്തു കിടക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കന്യകമാരും യൌവനക്കാരും വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീണിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ കോപദിവസത്തിൽ നീ അവരെ കൊന്നു കരുണകൂടാതെ അറുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

my virgins בְּתוּלֹתַ֥י bĕtûlâ beh-too-LA
and my young men וּבַחוּרַ֖י bāḥûr ba-HOOR
are fallen נָפְל֣וּ nāpal na-FAHL
by the sword; בֶחָ֑רֶב ḥereb heh-REV
thou hast slain הָרַ֙גְתָּ֙ hārag ha-RAHɡ
in the day בְּי֣וֹם yôm yome
of thine anger; אַפֶּ֔ךָ ʾap af
thou hast killed, טָבַ֖חְתָּ ṭābaḥ ta-VAHK
not לֹ֥א lōʾ loh
pitied. חָמָֽלְתָּ׃ ḥāmal ha-MAHL
