Ecclesiastes 5 - DBY (Malayalam)

1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and draw near to hear, rather than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they know not that they do evil.ദൈവാലയത്തിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ കാൽ സൂക്ഷിക്ക; മൂഢന്മാർ യാഗം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അടുത്തുചെന്നു കേൾക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു; പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലായ്കയാലല്ലോ അവർ ദോഷം ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thy heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in the heavens, and thou upon earth; therefore let thy words be few.അതിവേഗത്തിൽ ഒന്നും പറയരുതു; ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഒരു വാക്കു ഉച്ചരിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം ബദ്ധപ്പെടരുതു; ദൈവം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലും നീ ഭൂമിയിലും അല്ലോ; ആകയാൽ നിന്റെ വാക്കു ചുരുക്കുമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business, and a fool's voice through a multitude of words.കഷ്ടപ്പാടിന്റെ ആധിക്യംകൊണ്ടു സ്വപ്നവും വാക്കുപെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു ഭോഷന്റെ ജല്പനവും ജനിക്കുന്നു.

4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.ദൈവത്തിന്നു നേർച്ച നേർന്നാൽ കഴിപ്പാൻ താമസിക്കരുതു; മൂഢന്മാരിൽ അവന്നു പ്രസാദമില്ല; നീ നേർന്നതു കഴിക്ക.

5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.നേർന്നിട്ടു കഴിക്കാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ നേരാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an inadvertence. Wherefore should God be wroth at thy voice, and destroy the work of thy hands?നിന്റെ വായ് നിന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു പാപകാരണമാകരുതു; അബദ്ധവശാൽ വന്നുപോയി എന്നു നീ ദൂതന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ പറകയും അരുതു; ദൈവം നിന്റെ വാക്കുനിമിത്തം കോപിച്ചു നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിനു?

7 For in the multitude of dreams are vanities; so with many words: but fear God.സ്വപ്നബഹുത്വത്തിലും വാക്കുപെരുപ്പത്തിലും വ്യർത്ഥത ഉണ്ടു; നീയോ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുക.

8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter; for a higher than the high is watching, and there are higher than they.ഒരു സംസ്ഥാനത്തു ദരിദ്രനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും നീതിയും ന്യായവും എടുത്തുകളയുന്നതും കണ്ടാൽ നീ വിസ്മയിച്ചുപോകരുതു; ഉന്നതന്നു മീതെ ഒരു ഉന്നതനും അവർക്കുമീതെ അത്യുന്നതനും ജാഗരിക്കുന്നു.

9 Moreover the earth is every way profitable: the king [himself] is dependent upon the field.കൃഷിതല്പരനായിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു രാജാവു ദേശത്തിന്നു എല്ലാറ്റിലും ഉപകാരമായിരിക്കും.

10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he that loveth abundance with increase. This also is vanity.ദ്രവ്യപ്രിയന്നു ദ്രവ്യം കിട്ടീട്ടും ഐശ്വര്യ പ്രിയന്നു ആദായം കിട്ടീട്ടും തൃപ്തിവരുന്നില്ല. അതും മായ അത്രേ.

11 When goods increase, they are increased that eat them; and what profit is there to the owner thereof, except the beholding [of them] with his eyes?വസ്തുവക പെരുകുമ്പോൾ അതുകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവിക്കുന്നവരും പെരുകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥന്നു കണ്ണു കൊണ്ടു കാണുകയല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

12 The sleep of the labourer is sweet, whether he have eaten little or much; but the fulness of the rich doth not suffer him to sleep.വേലചെയ്യുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ അല്പമോ അധികമോ ഭക്ഷിച്ചാലും അവന്റെ ഉറക്കം സുഖകരമാകുന്നു; ധനവാന്റെ സമൃദ്ധിയോ അവനെ ഉറങ്ങുവാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നില്ല.

13 There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt;സൂര്യന്നുകീഴെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു വല്ലാത്ത തിന്മയുണ്ടു: ഉടമസ്ഥൻ തനിക്കു അനർത്ഥത്തിന്നായിട്ടു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കുന്ന സമ്പത്തു തന്നേ.

14 or those riches perish by some evil circumstance, and if he have begotten a son, there is nothing in his hand.ആ സമ്പത്തു നിർഭാഗ്യവശാൽ നശിച്ചു പോകുന്നു; അവന്നു ഒരു മകൻ ജനിച്ചാൽ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

15 As he came forth from his mother's womb, naked shall he go away again as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.അവൻ അമ്മയുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നതു പോലെ നഗ്നനായി തന്നേ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും; തന്റെ പ്രയത്നത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായിട്ടു അവൻ കയ്യിൽ ഒരു വസ്തുവും കൊണ്ടുപോകയില്ല.

16 And this also is a grievous evil, that in all points as he came so doth he go away, and what profit hath he, in having laboured for the wind?അതും ഒരു വല്ലാത്ത തിന്മ തന്നേ; അവൻ വന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ പോകുന്നു; അവന്റെ വൃാഥപ്രയത്നത്താൽ അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

17 All his days also he eateth in darkness, and hath much vexation, and sickness, and irritation.അവന്റെ ജീവകാലം ഒക്കെയും ഇരുട്ടിലും വ്യസനത്തിലും ദീനത്തിലും ക്രോധത്തിലും കഴിയുന്നു.

18 Behold what I have seen good and comely: [it is] to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labour wherewith [man] laboureth under the sun, all the days of his life which God hath given him: for that is his portion.ഞാൻ ശുഭവും ഭംഗിയുമായി കണ്ടതു: ദൈവം ഒരുത്തന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്ന ആയുഷ്കാലമൊക്കെയും അവൻ തിന്നുകുടിച്ചു സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ താൻ പ്രയത്നിക്കുന്ന തന്റെ സകല പ്രയത്നത്തിലും സുഖം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നതു തന്നേ; അതല്ലോ അവന്റെ ഓഹരി.

19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and power to eat thereof, and to take his portion and to rejoice in his labour: that is a gift of God.ദൈവം ധനവും ഐശ്വര്യവും അതു അനുഭവിച്ചു തന്റെ ഓഹരി ലഭിച്ചു തന്റെ പ്രയത്നത്തിൽ സന്തോഷിപ്പാൻ അധികാരവും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യന്നും അതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാനം തന്നേ.

20 For he will not much remember the days of his life, because God answereth [him] with the joy of his heart.ദൈവം അവന്നു ഹൃദയസന്തോഷം അരുളുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ഏറെ ഓർക്കുകയില്ല.
