1 Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,കൈസര്യയിൽ ഇത്താലിക എന്ന പട്ടാളത്തിൽ കൊർന്നേല്യൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ശതാധിപൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

2 a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.അവൻ ഭക്തനും തന്റെ സകല ഗൃഹത്തോടും കൂടെ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവനുമായി ജനത്തിന്നു വളരെ ധർമ്മം കൊടുത്തും എപ്പോഴും ദൈവത്തോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചും പോന്നു.

3 At about the ninth hour of the day{3:00 PM}, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius!"അവൻ പകൽ ഏകദേശം ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തു ഒരു ദർശനത്തിൽ ഒരു ദൈവദൂതൻ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അകത്തു വരുന്നതു സ്പഷ്ടമായി കണ്ടു കൊർന്നേല്യെസേ, എന്നു തന്നോടു പറയുന്നതും കേട്ടു.

4 He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, "What is it, Lord?" He said to him, "Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.അവൻ അവനെ ഉറ്റു നോക്കി ഭയപരവശനായി: എന്താകുന്നു കർത്താവേ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവൻ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനയും ധർമ്മവും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

5 Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is surnamed Peter.ഇപ്പോൾ യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു, പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വരുത്തുക.

6 He lodges with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside.{TR adds "This one will tell you what it is necessary for you to do."}"അവൻ തോൽക്കൊല്ലനായ ശിമോൻ എന്നൊരുവനോടു കൂടെ പാർക്കുന്നു. അവന്റെ വീടു കടല്പുറത്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7 When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ച ദൂതൻ പോയ ശേഷം അവൻ തന്റെ വേലക്കാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അകമ്പടി നില്ക്കുന്നവരിൽ ദൈവഭക്തനായോരു പടയാളിയേയും

8 Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.വിളിച്ചു സകലവും വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു യോപ്പയിലേക്കു അയച്ചു

9 Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവർ യാത്രചെയ്തു പട്ടണത്തോടു സമീപിക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് ആറാം മണിനേരത്തു പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പാൻ വെണ്മാടത്തിൽ കയറി.

10 He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.അവൻ വളരെ വിശന്നിട്ടു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവർ ഒരുക്കുമ്പോഴേക്കു അവന്നു ഒരു വിവശത വന്നു.

11 He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,ആകാശം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും വലിയൊരു തൂപ്പട്ടിപോലെ നാലു കോണും കെട്ടീട്ടു ഭൂമിയിലേക്കു ഇറക്കിവിട്ടോരു പാത്രം വരുന്നതും അവൻ കണ്ടു.

12 in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.അതിൽ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവിധ നാൽക്കാലിയും ഇഴജാതിയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

13 A voice came to him, "Rise, Peter, kill and eat!"പത്രൊസേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അറുത്തു തിന്നുക എന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി.

14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean."അതിന്നു പത്രൊസ്: ഒരിക്കലും പാടില്ല, കർത്താവേ, മലിനമോ അശുദ്ധമോ ആയതൊന്നും ഞാൻ ഒരുനാളും തിന്നിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.

15 A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean."ആ ശബ്ദം രണ്ടാംപ്രാവശ്യം അവനോടു: ദൈവം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതു നീ മലിനമെന്നു വിചാരിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16 This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഉണ്ടായി; ഉടനെ പാത്രം തിരികെ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.

17 Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate,ഈ കണ്ട ദർശനം എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു പത്രൊസ് ഉള്ളിൽ ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കൊർന്നേല്യൊസ് അയച്ച പുരുഷന്മാർ ശിമോന്റെ വീടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ നിന്നു:

18 and called and asked whether Simon, who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there.പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറു പേരുള്ള ശിമോൻ ഇവിടെ പാർക്കുന്നുണ്ടോഎന്നു വിളിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.

19 While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three{Reading from TR and NU. MT omits "three"} men seek you.പത്രൊസ് ദർശനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആത്മാവു അവനോടു: മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാർ നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു;

20 But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them."നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുക; ഞാൻ അവരെ അയച്ചതാകകൊണ്ടു ഒന്നും സംശയിക്കാതെ അവരോടു കൂടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21 Peter went down to the men, and said, "Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?"പത്രൊസ് ആ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ഞാൻ തന്നെ; നിങ്ങൾ വന്ന സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22 They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say."അതിന്നു അവർ: നീതിമാനും ദൈവഭക്തനും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ സകലജാതിയാലും നല്ല സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടവനും ആയ കൊർന്നേല്യൊസ് എന്ന ശതാധിപന്നു നിന്നെ വീട്ടിൽ വരുത്തി നിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേൾക്കേണം എന്നു ഒരു വിശുദ്ധദൂതനാൽ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23 So he called them in and lodged them. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.അവൻ അവരെ അകത്തു വിളിച്ചു പാർപ്പിച്ചു; പിറ്റെന്നാൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരോടുകൂടെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; യോപ്പയിലെ സഹോദരന്മാർ ചിലരും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി.

24 On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ കൈസര്യയിൽ എത്തി; അവിടെ കൊർന്നേല്യൊസ് ചാർച്ചക്കാരെയും അടുത്ത സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി, അവർക്കായി കാത്തിരുന്നു.

25 When it happened that Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.പത്രൊസ് അകത്തു കയറിയപ്പോൾ കൊർന്നേല്യൊസ് എതിരേറ്റു അവന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

26 But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up! I myself am also a man."പത്രൊസോ: എഴുന്നേൽക്ക, ഞാനും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനാത്രെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു.

27 As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.അവനോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചും കൊണ്ടു അകത്തു ചെന്നു, അനേകർ വന്നു കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവനോടു:

28 He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or unclean.അന്യജാതിക്കാരന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുന്നതും അവനുമായി പെരുമാറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്നതും യെഹൂദന്നു നിഷിദ്ധം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ. എങ്കിലും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെയും മലിനനോ അശുദ്ധനോ എന്നു പറയരുതെന്നു ദൈവം എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

29 Therefore also I came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?"അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആളയച്ചപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എതിർ പറയാതെ വന്നതു; എന്നാൽ എന്നെ വിളിപ്പിച്ച സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞാൽ കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30 Cornelius said, "Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour, and at the ninth hour,{3:00 P. M.} I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,അതിന്നു കൊർന്നേല്യൊസ്: നാലാകുന്നാൾ ഈ നേരത്തു ഞാൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ശുഭ്രവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചോരു പുരുഷൻ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു:

31 and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.കൊർന്നേല്യൊസേ, ദൈവം നിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ ധർമ്മം ഓർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodges in the house of Simon a tanner, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.'യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വിളിപ്പിക്ക; അവൻ കടല്പുറത്തു തോൽക്കൊല്ലനായ ശീമോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33 Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God."ക്ഷണത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു; നീ വന്നതു ഉപകാരം. കർത്താവു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും കേൾപ്പാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും ഇവിടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34 Peter opened his mouth and said, "Truly I perceive that God doesn't show favoritism;അപ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് വായി തുറന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയതു: ദൈവത്തിന്നു മുഖപക്ഷമില്ല എന്നും

35 but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.ഏതു ജാതിയിലും അവനെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു നീതി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവനെ അവൻ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ യാഥാർത്ഥമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

36 The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ--he is Lord of all--അവൻ എല്ലാവരുടെയും കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം സമാധാനം സുവിശേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾക്കു അയച്ച വചനം,

37 that spoken word you yourselves know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;യോഹന്നാൻ പ്രസംഗിച്ച സ്നാനത്തിന്റെശേഷം ഗലീലയിൽ തുടങ്ങി യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായ വർത്തമാനം,

38 even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാലും ശക്തിയാലും അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തതും ദൈവം അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ നന്മചെയ്തും പിശാചു ബാധിച്ചവരെ ഒക്കെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയുംകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിച്ചതുമായ വിവരം തന്നേ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

39 We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they also{TR omits "also"} killed, hanging him on a tree.യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും അവൻ ചെയ്ത സകലത്തിനും ഞങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു. അവനെ അവർ മരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കിക്കൊന്നു;

40 God raised him up the third day, and gave him to be revealed,ദൈവം അവനെ മൂന്നാം നാൾ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു,

41 not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.സകല ജനത്തിന്നുമല്ല, ദൈവം മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി നിയമിച്ച സാക്ഷികളായി, അവൻ മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം അവനോടുകൂടെ തിന്നുകുടിച്ചവരായ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ പ്രത്യക്ഷനാക്കിത്തന്നു.

42 He charged us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.ജീവികൾക്കും മരിച്ചവർക്കും ന്യായാധിപതിയായി ദൈവത്താൽ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ അവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

43 All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins."അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും അവന്റെ നാമം മൂലം പാപമോചനം ലഭിക്കും എന്നു സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരും സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.ഈ വാക്കുകളെ പത്രൊസ് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ വചനം കേട്ട എല്ലാവരുടെ മേലും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു വന്നു.

45 They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.അവർ അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതും ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിക്കുന്നതും കേൾക്കയാൽ

46 For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,പത്രൊസിനോടുകൂടെ വന്ന പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാരായ വിശ്വാസികൾ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന ദാനം ജാതികളുടെ മേലും പകർന്നതു കണ്ടു വിസ്മയിച്ചു.

47 "Can any man forbid the water, that these who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we should not be baptized?"നമ്മെപ്പോലെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിച്ച ഇവരെ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു കൂടാതവണ്ണം വെള്ളം വിലക്കുവാൻ ആർക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

48 He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.പത്രൊസ് അവരെ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു. അവൻ ചില ദിവസം അവിടെ താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു അവർ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
