பிலாத்து சில கலிலேயருடைய இரத்தத்தை அவர்களுடைய பலிகளோடே கலந்திருந்தான்; அந்த வேளையிலே அங்கே இருந்தவர்களில் சிலர் அந்தச்செய்தியை அவருக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

அப்போது இயேசுவோடு கூட மக்கள் சிலர் இருந்தனர். கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள மக்கள் சிலருக்கு நடந்ததை அவர்கள் இயேசுவுக்குக் கூறினர். அம்மக்கள் தேவனை வழிபட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கையில் அவர்களைப் பிலாத்து கொன்றான். அவர்கள் தேவனுக்குப் பலியிட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்த மிருகங்களின் இரத்தத்தோடு அவர்களின் இரத்தத்தையும் கலந்தான்.
