1 My son, if thou art become surety for thy neighbor, If thou hast stricken thy hands for a stranger;ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಿಗಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಹೊಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಪರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಒಡ್ಡಿದ್ದರೆ

2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, Thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ನೀನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀ. ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ನೀನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.

3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, Seeing thou art come into the hand of thy neighbor: Go, humble thyself, and importune thy neighbor;ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದಾಗ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡು. ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಿಗೆ ಹೊಣೆಯಾಗು.

4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids;ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿದ್ರೆಯನ್ನೂ ರೆಪ್ಪೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತೂಕಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಡ.

5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand `of the hunter', And as a bird from the hand of the fowler.ಬೇಟೆ ಗಾರನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಜಿಂಕೆಯೂ ಪಕ್ಷಿಯೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವಂತೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೋ.

6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; Consider her ways, and be wise:ಸೋಮಾರಿಯೇ, ನೀನು ಇರುವೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದರ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿ ಜ್ಞಾನ ವಂತನಾಗಿರು.

7 Which having no chief, Overseer, or ruler,ನಾಯಕನಾಗಲಿ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನಾ ಗಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೂ

8 Provideth her bread in the summer, And gathereth her food in the harvest.ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಅಹಾರವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು.

9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?ಓ ಸೋಮಾರಿಯೇ, ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತು ನೀನು ನಿದ್ರೆಮಾಡುವದು? ನಿನ್ನ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾವಾ ಗ ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳ್ಳುವಿ?

10 `Yet' a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep:ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನಿದ್ರೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ತೂಕಡಿಕೆ, ನಿದ್ರೆಗಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕೈ ಮುದುರಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ?

11 So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man.ಹೀಗೆ ದಾರಿದ್ರ್ಯವು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡು ವವನ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರತೆಯು ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರ ಹಾಗೂ ಬರುವದು.

12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth;ದುಷ್ಟನೂ ಕೆಡುಕನೂ ವಕ್ರಬಾಯಿಂದ ನಡೆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.

13 That winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers;ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ಬೆರಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

14 In whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರ್ಖ ತನವಿದೆ. ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಅವನು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ವೈಷಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುತ್ತಾನೆ.

15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy.ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಬರುವದು; ತಕ್ಷ ಣವೇ ಯಾವ ಪರಿಹಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಮುರಿಯಲ್ಪ ಡುವನು.

16 There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:ಈ ಆರು ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಹೌದು, ಏಳು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ; ಯಾವವಂದರೆ:

17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ, ಸುಳ್ಳಾ ಡುವ ನಾಲಿಗೆ, ನಿರ್ದೋಷ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವ ಕೈಗಳು,

18 A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief,ದುಷ್ಟ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ಹೃದಯ, ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಓಡಾಡುವದರಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ವರೆಪಡುವ ಕಾಲುಗಳು,

19 A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.ಅಸತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುವ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹೋ ದರರಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಷಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುವವನು.

20 My son, keep the commandment of thy father, And forsake not the law of thy mother:ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳು, ತಾಯಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಬೇಡ.

21 Bind them continually upon thy heart; Tie them about thy neck.ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂಧಿಸು. ನಿನ್ನ ಕಂಠಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೋ.

22 When thou walkest, it shall lead thee; When thou sleepest, it shall watch over thee; And when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.ನೀನು ಹೋಗು ವಾಗ ಅದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವದು; ಮಲಗುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವದು; ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಂಡಾಗ ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುವದು.

23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life:ಆಜ್ಞೆಯು ದೀಪವಾಗಿದೆ, ಕಟ್ಟ ಳೆಯು ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದೆ; ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಗದರಿಕೆಗಳು ಜೀವದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿವೆ.

24 To keep thee from the evil woman, From the flattery of the foreigner's tongue.ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹೆಂಗಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಪರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯ ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವು.

25 Lust not after her beauty in thy heart; Neither let her take thee with her eyelids.ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮೋಹಿಸಬೇಡ; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವಳ ಕಣ್ಣುರೆಪ್ಪೆಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವಳು ವಶಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇರಲಿ.

26 For on account of a harlot `a man is brought' to a piece of bread; And the adulteress hunteth for the precious life.ಒಬ್ಬ ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡಿಗೆ ಈಡಾಗುವನು; ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಿಣಿಯು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಬೇಟೆಯಾಡುವಳು.

27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, And his clothes not be burned?ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಸುಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

28 Or can one walk upon hot coals, And his feet not be scorched?ಒಬ್ಬನು ಧಗಧಗಿಸುವ ಕೆಂಡಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದರೆ ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳು ಸುಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

29 So he that goeth in to his neighbor's wife; Whosoever toucheth her shall not be unpunished.ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡುವವನು ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇರುವನು; ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಯಾವನೂ ನಿರಪ ರಾಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಇರನು.

30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal To satisfy himself when he is hungry:ಹಸಿದಾಗ ಕಳ್ಳನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳವು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಜನರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೀಯಾಳಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; He shall give all the substance of his house.ಅವನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಏಳರಷ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುವನು; ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನು ಕೊಡುವನು.

32 He that committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding: He doeth it who would destroy his own soul.ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನು ವಿವೇಕವಿಲ್ಲದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.

33 Wounds and dishonor shall he get; And his reproach shall not be wiped away.ಅವ ನಿಗೆ ಗಾಯವೂ ಅವಮಾನವೂ ಆಗುವವು; ಅವನ ನಿಂದೆಯು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಳಿಸಲ್ಪಡದು.

34 For jealousy is the rage of a man; And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಕ್ರೋಧವು ಮತ್ಸರವಾಗಿದೆ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುವ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಕ್ಷಮೆತೋರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

35 He will not regard any ransom; Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.ಅವನು ಯಾವ ಈಡನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಲಂಚಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಅವನು ಒಪ್ಪುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
