Proverbs 17 - DBY (Kannada)

1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than a house full of feasting [with] strife.1 ವಿವಾದದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಮನೆಗಿಂತ ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಒಣತುತ್ತೇ ಮೇಲು.

2 A wise servant shall rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part in the inheritance among the brethren.ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಿಸುವ ಮಗನ ಮೇಲೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಯಾದ ಸೇವಕನು ಆಳುವವನಾಗಿ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಗೆ ಪಾಲುಗಾರನಾಗುವನು.

3 The fining-pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; but Jehovah trieth the hearts.ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರ ಗಳನ್ನು ಪುಟ ಕುಲುಮೆಗಳು ಶೋಧಿಸುವವು, ಕರ್ತನು ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

4 The evil-doer giveth heed to iniquitous lips; the liar giveth ear to a mischievous tongue.ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವ ವನು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನು ನೀಚವಾದ ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವನು;

5 Whoso mocketh a poor [man] reproacheth his Maker; he that is glad at calamity shall not be held innocent.ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಕರ್ತ ನನ್ನೇ ನಿಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ವಿಪತ್ತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸು ವವನು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲೇಬೇಕು.

6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ವೃದ್ಧರಿಗೆ ಕಿರೀಟ; ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಭೂಷಣವು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ಗಳೇ.

7 Excellent speech becometh not a vile [man]; how much less do lying lips a noble!ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ನುಡಿಯುಕ್ತ ವಲ್ಲ; ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನಿಗೆ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವ ತುಟಿಗಳು ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ.

8 A gift is a precious stone in the eyes of the possessor: whithersoever it turneth it prospereth.ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಲಂಚವು ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಕಲ್ಲಿನಂತಿದೆ; ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿದರೂ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

9 He that covereth transgression seeketh love; but he that bringeth a matter up again separateth very friends.ದೋಷ ವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುವವನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಆಡುವವನು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇ ಕಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

10 A reproof entereth more deeply into him that hath understanding than a hundred stripes into a fool.ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ನೂರು ಪೆಟ್ಟುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಗದರಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನಾಟು ತ್ತದೆ.

11 An evil [man] seeketh only rebellion; but a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.ಕೆಟ್ಟವನು ದಂಗೆಯನ್ನೇ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ಕ್ರೂರ ಸೇವಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು.

12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man rather than a fool in his folly.ಮೂರ್ಖತನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ ರುವ ಮೂಢನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಮರಿಗ ಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕರಡಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗುವದು ಲೇಸು.

13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.ಉಪಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಕಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನ ಮನೆ ಯಿಂದ ಕೇಡು ತೊಲಗುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

14 The beginning of contention is [as] when one letteth out water; therefore leave off strife before it become vehement.ಒಬ್ಬನು ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೊರಬಿಡುವಂತೆ ಕಲಹದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವು ಇರುವದು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಆ ಕಲಹಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡು.

15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the righteous, even they both are abomination to Jehovah.ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ನೀತಿ ವಂತರೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸುವವನೂ ನೀತಿವಂತನನ್ನು ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡುವವನೂ ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯರು.

16 To what purpose is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing [he] hath no sense?ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರು ವದರಿಂದ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಯ ಯಾಕೆ?

17 The friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮ ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಹೋ ದರನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

18 A senseless man striketh hands, becoming surety for his neighbour.ವಿವೇಕವಿಲ್ಲದವನು ಕೈ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಣೆ ಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

19 He loveth transgression that loveth a quarrel; he that maketh high his gate seeketh destruction.ಕಲಹವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡುವವನು ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ದ್ವಾರವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ನಾಶನವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.

20 He that hath a perverse heart findeth no good; and he that shifteth about with his tongue falleth into evil.ಮೂರ್ಖ ಹೃದಯವುಳ್ಳವನು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಪಡೆ ಯನು; ಕೆಟ್ಟನಾಲಿಗೆಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಹಾನಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುವನು.

21 He that begetteth a fool [doeth it] to his sorrow, and the father of a vile [man] hath no joy.ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತವನಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಥೆ; ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

22 A joyful heart promoteth healing; but a broken spirit drieth up the bones.ಹರ್ಷ ಹೃದಯನು ಔಷಧದಂತೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕುಗ್ಗಿದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಣಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

23 A wicked [man] taketh a gift out of the bosom, to pervert the paths of judgment.ನ್ಯಾಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿಬಿಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಎದೆಯಿಂದ ಲಂಚವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.ವಿವೇಕಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವಿದೆ; ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಅಂತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವು.

25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bore him.ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನ ನಾದ ಮಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ದುಃಖವೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತವಳಿಗೆ ಕಹಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

26 To punish a righteous [man] is not good, nor to strike nobles because of [their] uprightness.ನೀತಿವಂತನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವದು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವದು ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ.

27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words; and a man of understanding is of a cool spirit.ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳ ವನು ಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ವಿವೇಕಿಯು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ಆತ್ಮವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

28 Even a fool when he holdeth his peace is reckoned wise, [and] he that shutteth his lips, intelligent.ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು ಮೌನವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು; ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿ ಹಿಡಿಯುವವನು ವಿವೇಕಿಯೆಂದು ಅನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
