ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಈ ಅಪರಾಧದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ರೌದ್ರ ಬಂತು.
